Chapter 148: Chapter 148: Every Affair is Thrilling
Shen Shiyun warmly grabbed Xu Xingluo’s hand, but Xu Xingluo shook it off without giving any face.
She despised Shen Shiyun.
“Who says we’re a family of three? Even though you gave birth to , it was Liu Huimin who raised .” She looked down on Shen Shiyun.
“Xingluo! Your mother has suffered a lot for you,” Xu Guangyao scolded.
Xu Xingluo sneered and asked, “Dad, would you divorce to marry her?”
Xu Guangyao fell silent.
Shen Shiyun felt hurt inside, but had long since accepted this fact.
The Liu Family was a top-tier powerhouse in Haicheng that wouldn’t fall for decades. The Xu Family had developed step by step relying on the power of the Liu Family, and Xu Guangyao would not divorce Liu Huimin.
Unless Liu Huimin died.
He could only be widowed, not divorced.
Otherwise, the Liu Family would destroy him.
He was so frustrated back then that he had an affair, seeking a gentler haven. He even harbored thoughts of revenge, switching two baby girls, letting the Liu Family dote on the daughter of his mistress.
Xu Xingluo said sarcastically, “If you won’t marry her, then what kind of mother should I call her? Dad, I hope you rember that my mother is only Liu Huimin, don’t let it slip.”
Shen Shiyun’s eyes reddened, and tears fell.
She had thought their first eting would be filled with motherly and filial affection but hadn’t expected Xingluo to resist her so much.
“Xingluo, don’t speak so harshly,” Xu Guangyao said, hugging Shen Shiyun with sympathy.
Xu Xingluo was extrely cold-blooded as she said, “Dad, before Uncle’s issue is resolved, I advise you to co here less often. Do you really think there are walls that can block out the truth? Once discovered, all your efforts will be in vain.”
She looked at Shen Shiyun and continued, “You claim to be my birth mother. For my sake, you should keep your distance from my dad to avoid being found out.”
What she cared about the most was her own status.
She wanted to be the treasured daughter of both the Liu and Xu Families, Haicheng’s number one socialite.
Nobody could be allowed to destroy that! Not even her biological mother.
“Xu Xingluo, are you really so heartless!” Xu Guangyao exclaid in anger.
Shen Shiyun clung to his arm, her tears flowing as she sought to comfort him, “Xingluo is right, let’s first tackle the current problem. Every ti you co here, you risk being discovered, and it’s okay for us to suffer a little bit.”
Xu Xingluo’s bitter remark, hypocritical!
These cuddling tactics were her leftovers.
She stood up and said, “I’ll leave first.”
“Wait!” Xu Guangyao called out to her, “Stop your ballet dancing from tomorrow on, co work at the company. You are my dearest daughter, and the company will be yours to inherit.”
He was paving the way for her.
Xu Xingluo looked at him in surprise, “All of it for ?”
“Of course! I have to plan for your future,” he stated.
“I will go to work tomorrow.”
Having said that, she left the room.
Shen Shiyun collapsed into Xu Guangyao’s arms crying, “She doesn’t acknowledge , not even willing to call ‘mom’ once.”
Xu Guangyao gently patted her back, speaking tenderly, “Give her so ti, she will co around.”
“Guangyao, do you really plan to give the company all to Xingluo? Can she handle it alone?” Shen Shiyun hesitated, “What if we gave Xingluo a little brother?”
Though she was in her early forties, she could still have a child.
Xu Guangyao raised an eyebrow, “Sure, you can give one.”
He tore open his shirt and pushed Shen Shiyun down on the sofa, “Once born, I’ll raise him with Liu Huimin’s dowry.”
Shen Shiyun broke into laughter, kissing him passionately.
Every ti she and Xu Guangyao were in bed together, a sense of revenge against Liu Huimin thrilled her!
Such an affair was both exciting and addicting!
She believed Xu Guangyao felt the sa! Every ti he was upset, he would turn to her for a fierce encounter!
That foolish woman Liu Huimin, raising their daughter, still blissfully thought she had a good husband.
Who knew the person beside them had been keeping a mistress for over twenty years.
“Guangyao, hold tight.”
…
In the hospital’s private room.
The distinguished and aloof man, holding a fruit knife, peeled an apple with deliberate slowness. After he finished peeling, he cut the apple into pieces, removed the core, and threw it into the trash can.
“Grandma, eat so fruit.”
Huo Xingzhou passed the white porcelain plate to Grandma Qiao and took up a fork.
Grandma Qiao was uneasy and nervous, “Thank you.”
She was a rural woman, worlds apart from the Huo Family. She never thought there’d co a day when an Eldest Young Master would peel an apple for her.
“Qiao Xi is busy with work today, quite so. She likely won’t have ti to take care of you, but if you have any problems, you can talk to ,” Huo Xingzhou said politely and courteously.
He looked elegant and noble.
Grandma Qiao shook her head, “You must be busy too, I can take care of myself. The doctor said it’s a minor scrape. With a two-day observation in the hospital, I’ll be able to go back.”
The young couple seed to have a good relationship.
Then why were Nannan’s private photos sent to the countryside? Who took them? Could these photos be leaked elsewhere?
If this young man in front of her found out, would the two children divorce?
A man’s pride is strong; it would probably be hard for him to accept such a thing, especially since those from high-status families care a lot about face.
Grandma Qiao was troubled and scared.
“I’m not busy today,” Huo Xingzhou said indifferently.
At worst, he would work overti during the weekend to catch up on the ti.
“If you have ti, Grandma, please tell about Qiao Xi’s childhood. Was she always so proper and serious? She’s so beautiful, were there any boys who bullied her?”
Huo Xingzhou was very curious about her childhood.
Grandma Qiao’s attention was diverted, and she began to reminisce about Qiao Xi’s younger days.
“Nannan, she’s been following Cheng Han to learn dicine since she was little. During her sumr and winter holidays, she would follow him into the mountains to recognize herbs. The village boys were very naughty, and because she was cute, they liked to tease her.”
Qiao Xi didn’t seem like a country girl; she was fair, clean, and very smart.
“Later, Cheng Han’s family had a relative’s child co over. At first, Nannan didn’t like him. Then, when she was twelve years old, she went into the mountains to gather herbs in the winter, and there was a big, heavy snowfall.”
The sky filled with snowflakes set off panic among the villagers, and eventually, there was an avalanche.
“That kid spent three or four hours looking for Nannan in the mountains and at last carried her back. Nannan was seriously ill after returning ho and only then did their relationship improve.”
Childhood sweethearts?
Huo Xingzhou’s eyes flashed, “Was it a boy or a girl?”
“A boy, he was Nannan’s best playmate,” Grandma Qiao said with a sense of regret, “Suddenly one day, that kid disappeared. Cheng Han said he died in an accident, and Nannan cried a lot when she got back.”
Dead?
Huo Xingzhou asked, “Was his na Ayi?”
Grandma Qiao nodded quickly, “Yes, that’s the na. I heard that his parents were no longer around, it was quite pitiful.”
Huo Xingzhou’s gaze was deep, truly pitiful.
It’s just that Qiao Xi always thought of him, and he felt a bit jealous.
Grandma Qiao picked out many more amusing stories from Qiao Xi’s childhood and talked for quite a while before yawning tiredly.
“You should rest. I’ll have soone bring dinner to the room,” Huo Xingzhou said.
After finding the caregiver and explaining the patient’s needs, he left.
At six in the evening.
Qiao Xi finally erged from the circle of departnt heads.
All day, she had been brought by the senior doctors to examine many difficult and complex cases. They hoped she could use acupuncture to aid in the treatnt of chronic diseases, bringing more hope to the patients.
She removed her mask and took off her white coat.
In the corner of her eye, she caught sight of Huo Xingzhou standing at the door of the office. The man’s handso face was bathed in backlight, as though a filter had been applied, austere and attractive.
