"The Human Dao has Four Paths, the Immortal Ning Dynasty has Sixth Branches.

Can you tell what these are?" a middle-aged man in long straight red robes sitting in front of a bunch of young n asked them a question.

Many of the young n looked androgenous, handso yet seemingly not having entered puberty.

At the forefront, there were three who looked extrely astute and diligent. Their notebooks open, one hand holding a brush, the other raised slightly.

"Mu Yan, you answer." The man pointed at a white-haired purple-eyed young man, one of the three in front.

He looked extrely handso, but his cold face seed to reject any warmth, unlike his na.

"The Four Paths of the Human Dao are as followed:

Path of Literati, one of creativeness and long education combined. The Martial Path, where one trains and expends resources to enhance martial prowess. The Path of Craft – to create is to give birth, and to plant is to feed life. Lastly, there is the Path of Ruling. From the village to the empire, there are many rulers and their subjects working together to enhance the fortune of the world.

Then there are Sixth Branches:

The branch of Scholars, the main branch of literati. Whatever art one pursues, pursuing so freely and unfretted is to be a scholar. Followed is the Branch of Jianghu, which is the main branch of the martial.

Then there are the Branch of Guilds, they are the central branch of the crafters and all other creative paths based on the craft path.

But the world needs law and order, and these are rely the free branches commoners may enter to freely traverse the world. The following three branches are the main branches of the empire:

Officials, the branch that assists the rulers in ruling the world. They take care of many matters large and small. Soldiers, the branch of the warriors of the empire, protecting and endlessly expanding its might. Finally, there is the most important, the main branch of rulers, Royalty. They love and care for the empire, and they rule it with their might and power to beco the most perfect.

Every branch has several smaller branches and all paths have their own sub-paths."

"Well told." The man at the front nodded in approval, waving his brush on the notebook in front of him "Mu Yan, you have gained three more points in education."

The class then continued. Occasionally, soone would raise their hand, at other tis, the question would be answered by the one at front.

It’s not that they do not wish to answer, but that they were only allowed to answer a selective amount of questions.

They had to choose wisely which question could give them several points and which would be a waste.

But if they were too cautious, they might not be able to answer any question at all.

As always, at the end of class, several people wished to answer the remaining few questions. Unfortunately, the teacher only chose the students he thought did well usually, ignoring those that always ca out last.

If you never learn from your failures it must be that you are too stupid and don’t deserve to continue.

Once the class was over, everyone stood up and bowed towards the man at front.

They wore grey robes that were of a rather low level, as if depicting their own inadequate mind.

Mu Yan walked out of the class, two people following behind. They were the two at the front.

Walking to the eating hall, he sat down, waiting for the waiter to get them their food.

When the food arrived, one of the three couldn’t hold himself any longer and asked "Mu Yan, is it ti now?"

The other asked "Right, wasn’t this the last points you needed? Exactly three!

Now you have 10.000 points in education, 5.000 points in servitude and 3.000 points in martial prowess. You have already fulfilled the requirent to take the path you wished, haven’t you?"

"Ren Yu, A’qi, why are you so impatient? I have told you several tis that impatience leads to worse grades and worse behaviour.

The most important virtue we, Eunuchs, need, is patience.

The more patient we are, the better fare.

If we are impatient, one day we will suffer the wraths of others or lose out on a chance."

The two cald down once they heard it, but their eyes still locked onto him, as if trying to force his answer.

He smiled and nodded "Yes, indeed, I have reached the requirent and am indeed about to beco a Royal Eunuch."

"So it’s really like that!" Ren Yu couldn’t hold himself.

A’qi, on the other hand, thought aloud "Royal Eunuch, really, the most supre path among us eunuchs!

You will beco the caretaker and basically adoptive father of princes and princesses, taking care of them and sharing their fortune with you!

Among all the eunuch paths, this must be the most promising, if done well..."

"Your two paths aren’t bad either.

As a Head Eunuch, Ren Yu will definitely be at the forefront. He will lead various eunuchs to take care of the palace complex and will have the chance to beco a core mber.

Not to ntion you, A’qi. Envoy Eunuchs have always been extrely cherished by both the rulers and those who receive decrees.

I just hope that even after we graduate, we may still et each other and work together.

After all, we all know how difficult eunuchs of other palaces may be. We are only of the Immortal Diligence Eunuch Palace. There are two more palaces above us who have a closer connection with the imperial family.

While I might be the only Royal Eunuch of our generation here, I guess there will be at least two in the Great Bliss Eunuch Palace and at least five in the Royal Servant Eunuch Palace..."

"Mu Yan, don’t act like they are real competition!

While other Royal Eunuchs might only take one prince or princess, you, with your Dual Dragon-Phoenix Spirit will definitely take two! Else, it would be too much of a waste!
