Teigu’s sentence silenced not only the Fortress Chief but also the warriors that had just entered.
"How did you kill him? Demon Gu Controllers are... they are like rats and cockroaches, the best at hiding themselves and escaping into small corners! How did you kill him?"
"I cultivated my village’s... technique. With it I hid and trapped that evil beast, finally killing him in one swoop!
Afterwards, with the village empty, I left and wanted to look for a town." Teigu clearly explained everything that happened.
Naturally he hid the fact that this cultivation art ca to him in a dream, and that the one who killed all villagers was him.
But their deaths were sealed under the banner of the demon cultivator! He killed him and still took their lives to make sure others wouldn’t suffer the sa fate.
"You can stay in this fortress for a while. I will ssage the tribe and see whether you can go and enter the city.
Soone like you..." he looked at Teigu. Even though Teigu hid it, he could sense an extre murderous intent whenever the word ’Demon Gu Controller’ was spoken. It was the hate that ca with one’s whole family being slaughtered!
But while there were countless who experienced this fate, only few like Teigu could take revenge.
"The tribe elders should allow you to enter the town as long as you make a few promises.
First of all, in this fortress, no matter what, you can’t use that wing ability of yours."
As he said this, he took out a stone ring. The ring was large, basically a bracelet. Putting it on Teigu’s hand, it instantly shrunk to fit his arm.
Then the chief gestured to one of the warriors behind him, telling them to take off the chain binding Teigu’s leg.
After the chain was unbound, Teigu could still feel that his wings couldn’t flap. It was like his whole power was sealed.
Thinking about it, he decided to retract his wing. The wing disintegrated into purple power which then entered Teigu’s body.
"What a special ability!" the Fortress Chief comnted but didn’t ask about the technique.
The technique oneself practiced was the best.
As for these other techniques?
Even getting them would be dangerous. You might not get the full version and harm yourself, or even if you get it fully, who knows whether you can find the materials required to practice it?
This was why, even after all this ti, the tribal techniques barely changed. They were further refined and improved while also ensuring a continuous resource output for the required resources.
The Fortress Chief observed Teigu. When he saw that the boy was rather calm, to a point of indifference, like nothing around mattered, he felt a sense of assurance. These people who didn’t care about the things you have are the best people.
Opening the jail, he walked out with Teigu behind him.
"You, go to the Shaman and tell him to write about the story you just heard. Ask for a pass for this boy. You there, go to the scout captain and tell him what happened. Inspect the village and the surrounding villages all over, I don’t want to see more Demon Gu Controllers in our area!"
The chief didn’t hide his commands, casually saying them as he walked up the underground area with Teigu behind.
Outside, Teigu had to blink several tis to get used to the light. It was still midday, just a few minutes after he was caught.
He could see people in leather and fur clothing walking around. Their energy was vigorous and they seed like sculpted warriors. They either carried machetes or nothing at all. Only sotis did he see skinning daggers hanging from their waist.
After all, this was a fortress, not a village or town. The people here were all cultivators who guarded the pass to the inner region of the tribe.
Teigu didn’t care about the people.
What he cared about when saving the people was whether they suffered because of demon Gu. If that wasn’t the case, then they were just ants on the ground. He would simply not care about them.
It was a slightly twisted view, where he would care for those that suffered from demon Gu but also kill them in the end, ensuring no one would suffer from the hands of demon Gu.
Seeing his indifference, the Fortress Chief thought sothing else – such a display of power couldn’t even move him!
Did this an his power was enough to overwhelm them?
Calculating it, he realised that only the four tower overseers were at the Flesh Refining while he and the Shaman were at the Skin Refining could safely hold him without an issue. The rest would probably have difficulties even catching up with that weird wing’s ability.
Although Teigu was sowhat indifferent to the hardships of others, this didn’t numb his feelings.
When he saw the strong scene and the beast bodies hung all over the huts, and especially when he walked down a small path where there were several people who set up stalls and sold things, he had a feeling that this tribe was doing extrely well!
Being able to provide so well for their lower mbers – they were truly a strong tribe!
Everywhere else, it would be a question of whether the people could even fill all the warriors required for a fortress, while here, they all had enough to have a small comrcial street!
He looked over to the Fortress Chief and asked, "Where is this tribe? I never saw a map and don’t know the surroundings."
"My Yaosha Tribe is at the north-east of the Endless Mountains. We border those flat-feet rats called Ning to the north.
Heh, my tribe’s chief is a Blood Light Great Warrior! He has killed several of those flat-feet rats and defended our tribe many tis!"
When he looked at Teigu, he rembered sothing.
"Those Demon Gu Controllers mostly co from the lands of those flat-feet!
But they don’t co from the Ning people, they mostly co from the western tribes region.
There are many Gu Controllers there."
As a Fortress Chief he had gained so education, but that was already the limit of foreign information he had.
