Room 77, Konoha Hospital.
A tense and critical surgery was underway.
The patient on the operating table was Hyūga Hizashi, the younger brother of Hyūga Hiashi, the clan head. In the future, Hizashi would have a son nad Hyūga Neji.
During a mission in the Land of Wind, Hizashi encountered puppet masters from Sunagakure and was poisoned.
"Hanekawa, get ready," Tsunade ordered without looking up, extending her hand.
Her palm was enveloped in a soft green chakra that suddenly turned sharp, resembling a scalpel.
This was the Chakra Scalpel, an advanced A-Rank dical ninjutsu.
With practiced precision, Tsunade made an incision on Hizashi's thigh.
"Blood Stoppage Technique!"
Hanekawa placed his hands over the wound, and green chakra flowed from his palms, halting the bleeding.
"This is Chiyo's poison," Tsunade remarked while carefully examining the damaged tissue.
Chiyo, the most skilled puppet master in Sunagakure, was notorious for her mastery in two fields: creating and controlling puppets and crafting deadly poisons.
During the Second Shinobi World War, Tsunade and Chiyo had a fierce battle of poisons and antidotes, where Tsunade ultimately erged victorious.
Of course, whenever Hanekawa thought of Chiyo, he couldn't help but also picture her in swimwear—a rather inappropriate but amusing image.
"Hanekawa, use the Fine Extraction Technique," Tsunade instructed. "Nonō, bring the antidote I prepared."
Hanekawa quickly ford the necessary hand seals.
The Fine Extraction Technique was a B-Rank dical ninjutsu. It was used to identify and remove toxins, pathogens, or any other harmful substances from a patient's body. Among dical techniques, it was notoriously difficult.
Hanekawa had spent six months mastering it.
"Lady Tsunade," Nonō Yakushi said, handing over a vial of dicine.
"Good."
Tsunade opened the vial as Hanekawa pinpointed the location of the toxin within Hizashi's body by analyzing the disrupted chakra flow.
"Found it," Hanekawa announced.
Tsunade sprinkled dicinal powder onto the affected area and worked in tandem with Hanekawa's Fine Extraction Technique.
Monts later, Hizashi's tissue returned to its normal color, no longer blackened by poison.
"Hanekawa, step back," Tsunade instructed, returning the vial to Nonō. She then activated the Mystical Palm Technique, her hands glowing with healing chakra.
Hanekawa dispersed his own chakra and stepped aside.
Watching Hizashi's wound gradually heal under the Mystical Palm Technique, he couldn't help but marvel at its effectiveness. Unfortunately, he had yet to master this high-level technique himself.
---
Half a year had passed since Tsunade's birthday.
Hanekawa had successfully unlocked the C-Rank talent: dical Chūnin.
[C-Rank Talent: dical Chūnin]
Trigger Condition: Acquire nine dical ninjutsu techniques.
Effect: Enhances the effectiveness of all dical ninjutsu by 50%.
Notes: Mastering nine dical ninjutsu to the "proficient" level allows advancent to the B-Rank Talent: Special Jōnin in dical Ninjutsu.
The 50% increase in effectiveness was remarkably powerful, allowing significant chakra conservation.
The potency of a jutsu depended on the chakra's quantity, nature, and mastery of the technique.
For example, Uchiha Madara could turn ordinary Fire Release techniques into forces comparable to forbidden jutsu.
With this talent, Hanekawa's output at 100% chakra was equivalent to others' output at 150%.
However, advancing to the B-Rank talent posed a challenge due to the proficiency requirents.
Thanks to his system's unique chanics, successfully performing a jutsu automatically raised its proficiency to the "skilled" level.
Proficiency levels were divided into three stages: beginner, skilled, and mastery.
Actually, having a "skilled" level of proficiency in dical ninjutsu was sufficient, but the requirent for achieving "mastery" in his techniques made the process more ti-consuming.
Still, there was no other option, so Hanekawa had to comply.
During the vacation after his second year at the Ninja Academy, Hanekawa began an internship at Konoha Hospital.
In addition to the C-Rank Talent: dical Chūnin, he also unlocked another C-Rank Talent: Genjutsu Chūnin, which had similar effects and notes.
This talent increased the power of his genjutsu by 50%, and mastering nine genjutsu techniques would allow it to upgrade to the Special Jōnin level.
"Alright."
Tsunade withdrew her hands. Maintaining the Mystical Palm Technique for five minutes had left sweat on her forehead.
Hanekawa quickly handed her a towel.
"You did well earlier," Tsunade remarked while wiping her sweat.
"More than just well," Nonō Yakushi interjected. "Hanekawa's dical ninjutsu is already on par with a Special Jōnin!"
To her, Hanekawa's skills were exceptionally refined.
The most astonishing part? He was only eight years old.
"He's still far from perfect," Tsunade said, shaking her head.
Although Nonō Yakushi wasn't wrong, Tsunade always held Hanekawa to the standard of a Hokage.
"Yes, I'll keep working hard," Hanekawa nodded firmly.
It's worth noting that the system's ranking for ninjas was stricter than the Shinobi World's conventional standards.
For example, mastering nine dical ninjutsu techniques could easily earn one the title of Jōnin in the Shinobi World. However, the system only considered this enough for Special Jōnin status.
"..."
Nonō Yakushi glanced around, noticing that both Tsunade and Hanekawa seed to take this as normal.
She couldn't help but question herself: Am I under genjutsu? Or has Konoha completely revised its ninja standards?
---
"Let's go."
Tsunade put down the towel and left the operating room.
"Lady Tsunade," Hyūga Hiashi, who had been waiting outside, quickly approached her. "How is Hizashi doing?"
"The poison has been neutralized. He just needs a few days of rest," Tsunade nodded.
"Thank you, Lady Tsunade," Hiashi sighed in relief.
"It's nothing," Tsunade waved it off casually.
"Is this Lady Tsunade's student?" Hiashi turned his gaze to Hanekawa and complinted, "So young and already interning? Truly impressive."
"Lord Hiashi," Nonō Yakushi corrected, "He's not an intern. He's Lady Tsunade's assistant."
Hiashi was visibly stunned.
A surgical operation typically required a lead surgeon and an assistant. Being an assistant wasn't sothing just any dical ninja could do—it was a position typically reserved for Chūnin-level dics at minimum.
In other words, Hanekawa was already a dical Chūnin. At just eight years old.
"Alright, stop praising him, or he'll get arrogant," Tsunade said with a faint smirk. "We'll be on our way."
Hanekawa quickly followed her.
"When does your school term start?" Tsunade suddenly asked.
"Tomorrow," Hanekawa paused, then asked, "Are you going to pick up halfway through the day?"
"Pick you up?" Tsunade raised an eyebrow, puzzled.
"The Hokage's speech is bound to drag on. I don't want to sit through it," Hanekawa said, coughing lightly.
"I thought your dream was to beco Hokage?" Tsunade chuckled. "Shouldn't you learn from this?"
"Nope, not interested," Hanekawa shook his head quickly. "When I beco Hokage soday, my speeches will never exceed three minutes."
"Becoming Hokage is a whole other question," Tsunade said, flicking his forehead. "Stay humble."
"I've always been humble," Hanekawa replied seriously.
