Both Zane and Alexia exited the ring, one of them had cuts and gashes on her skin while the other one ca out relatively unscathed, save for the few cuts on the fabric of his shirt.

Jason watched as both left the field only to be replaced by two new people, Kairo from the Amaterasu clan and Morrigan from the Hades clan, his mind couldn’t help but wonder how she would beat Kairo.

’If I’m lucky, Kairo might just last long enough for her to use Fifth Sense: Pain and Sixth Sense: Fear on him.’

He was curious to see her techniques because as far as he could rember most of her talents never appeared in the novel, to know what he was dealing with he would need to see her abilities in action.

Besides, Jason had low regards for Kairo, even though he beca stronger later on as the story progressed, in the beginning arcs he served as soone with a large mouth who would only get beaten up.

Right now, Kairo had a grin on his face as he faced Morrigan, the girl’s icy deanor a stark contrast from his own.

"Begin!"

Kairo’s wasted no ti, his mana surged from his palms. The heat around him began to intensify as a fireball began forming above his palms, it illuminated them with a vibrant glow.

He visualized the flas, focusing on his mana.

As he completed it, a large fireball with the width of half a ter had been ford. It pulsated with energy, the heat radiating in all directions.

But Kairo didn’t break a sweat, instead he hurled it towards Morrigan.

Morrigan, unfazed by the approaching fireball, moved with an eerie calm. Despite its size the fireball wasn’t slow, it would reach her in a matter of seconds.

The girl instead closed her eyes, focusing on her own magic.

As soon as the felt the heat emanating from it, she opened her eyes, dropping her hands to the ground.

The ground in front of her changed, she created a wall of earth, one that easily surpassed the size of the fireball.

As expected, the fireball didn’t hit her, it was snuffed out as easily as it had been created.

’Earth magic to counter.’ Jason thought, his gaze shifting to Kairo the boy running towards the wall before leaping.

The wall of earth cracked open as a figure burst through it, stones flying.

Morrigan’s expression hinted at amusent as she saw him descended.

The Amaterasu clan heir landed gracefully, his boots striking the grounds of the hall with a soft thud and one of the rocks he had destroyed landing next to him.

In his hands a broadsword, and the weapon emitted heat. In a mont, he lunged forward at her, the sword aid at her midsection.

But his opponent did not flinch.

She stepped to the side, her movent fluid as she evaded his attack. The sword missing her by re inches, the heat warming her up.

Kairo wasn’t done yet, but neither was Morrigan.

His eyes locked onto her as he withdrew his sword, ready to continue with his assault. But before Kairo could swing, she moved.

She bent her knees slightly, delivering a palm to Kairo’s jaw.

Blood gushed out of his nose.

The boy staggered backward, montarily shook by the impact by that attack. But he regained himself imdiately, his hand going to his nose.

He wiped the blood from his nose, his face clouded with shock as he observed the blood.

Then, he smirked, putting both hands on his sword, his grip on the weapon tightening before he went in again.

He moved back in with a flurry of rapid sword moves – going from left, right, below and above – each one aid at different parts of her body.

Morrigan managed to avoid most of Kairo’s attacks, either by dodging it or a subtle shift in her stance. But a few still got threw, grazing her cheeks and her skin.

’He’s still attacking.’ Jason thought, obviously disappointed in Kairo’s sense of reasoning.

He could launch fireballs from a distance after seeing the way she dodged all his attacks, but unfortunately his pride as the clan heir of the Amaterasu clan wouldn’t allow him to retreat, he was aiming to win at close-range.

’Stupid playboy.’

Kairo had already added his signature elent to his attacks, searing heat that were enough to burn soone. But he was expending too much energy.

Suddenly he backed away.

As he got a good distance away, he implanted his sword into the ground, resting on it as he breathed heavily. He had kept up with the attack for several minutes, but out of the many strikes he had done, only a little over a dozen had gone through.

Every attack that had gone through were always those that weren’t aid at a serious spot, in the case where she couldn’t dodge she would allow his attacks to hit him.

He breathed out a long breath before focusing on his mana, he knew he had been expending his carelessly so he had to be careful now. His left arm pulsed with a dangerous amount of heat, one that should have normally burnt his arm into ashes.

"If she doesn’t give up, I won’t stop." Kairo muttered to himself.

In the clan he was thought to be ruthless to his enemies.

The heat in his arm grew.

He spared a glance towards Jason.

’When Zane Hachiman isn’t around, you better hide from , or I’ll burn you to crisps.’ Kairo thought while looking at him, he then turned back to his opponent.

While he prepared his own attack, she watched him, preparing her own.

He brought his left arm forward before curling his fingers into a ball.

Jason watched with interest as Kairo darted forward, holding his broadsword one-handed instead of with both hands.

He swung his sword once he ca in with Morrigan.

But she easily dodged, ducking low as the sword went sailing over her head, it looked like it had been aid to decapitate her.

Kairo wasn’t surprised when it happened, his hand let go of the sword, joining with his right arm as he brought it forward.

In that instant, a torrent of orange flas erupted from his palms, swirling and twirling in as its form danced.

The fiery blaze engulfed Morrigan’s form, covering her completely as it brightened the surroundings.

The flas seed alive from the way they crackled and hissed as they shot forward in a continuous unrelenting action.

Only the roars of his flas could be heard.

’He’s trying to kill her.’ Jason mused, watching from a distance. ’I didn’t think he would resort to that.’

After a while the flas died down, Kairo stopping the relentless blast of fire.

’My mana is almost depleted.’ Kairo realized. ’She didn’t admit defeat, she killed herself because of her pride as the heir of her clan.’

’How stupid.’

He backed away, his eyes glued to the scene as he awaited to see his forr opponent.

The smoke created by his flas obscured his vision.

But Jason grinned when he saw it.

Zane grinned too, once he focused on the smoke.

Even Hereon, with his eyesight that was inferior to theirs, had a change in expression once he saw it.

The heir from the Hades clan; Morrigan Aides, walked out of the smoke visibly unscathed from his relentless blast of fire.

Kairo’s eyes widened from the scene in front of him, even with the enhancent of mana, that didn’t necessarily an that humans would be able to survive such a degree of fire.

His expression shifted to that of shock and horror as he saw her walk out.

"How?" He questioned, stepping a few steps back in disbelief.

He was sure that his blast would have finished her off; he had used heat manipulation to create the heat that gathered in his left hand, one of the inherent techniques of the Amaterasu clan, and additionally he had used his mana as a fuel to turn that heat into flas, also using magic to boost its potency.

So how was Morrigan Aides still standing in front of him?

"Water Magic." She answered, the first words she had spoken since she arrived.

He stared at her, his expression of disbelief still there. "Impossible! It would have evaporated and my flas would have reached you!"

He was ready to shout out that she had cheated using a treasure and should be disqualified, in fact he was about to shout that if not for her answer.

"Converting water to ice." She explained, deciding to humor him.

Ice was just frozen water, so water magic would obviously be able to create ice too.

"That’s a lie, it would have turned to water and my flas would have reached you!" He shouted again.

"Not outside." A small smile ford on her lips. "I used water magic ON my body."

At that mont, it was as if Kairo’s mind had been shattered.

Morrigan elaborated further, her grin widening even further.

"By coating my body in thick layers ice I was able to withstand your onslaught, but I have to admit, it wasted a bit of my mana." She explained, relishing the expression on his face.

Instantaneously using water magic to create thick layers of ice around her body was impossible for soone at her level.

She had been preparing it from the mont when Kairo began gathering heat at his arms, he was the one that had given her the opportunity to counter him.

Morrigan walked towards Kairo.

But Kairo didn’t stop attacking, he lunged towards her, though his legs felt unnaturally weak.

But Morrigan easily caught his fist with her left hand.

She twisted it, bringing him to his knees. Then, she put a single finger on his forehead.
