Leo frowned when he saw the last sudden system notification.
Even though he had already thought there must be so limit to the [Absolute Devour]; however, he didn’t expect that after awakening three skills or talents by devouring the sa race would lower the awakening chances to one percent.
‘Looks like getting three new talents from killing the water spiders is not possible anymore.’
Leo shook his head and decided to kill the beasts from the races after getting out of this region.
‘Anyway, for now, I will focus on the mission.’
Even though Leo’s chances of awakening a talent or a skill from devouring the water spiders have beco less, it didn’t stop him from killing them because of the mission.
‘I wonder how many water spiders I have to kill before recieving the system reward.’
The mission only stated that he had to kill a specific number of water spiders. He had already killed more than 50 water spiders. So, he wondered how many more water spiders he had to kill to get the reward.
‘Let’s continue.’
Soon, he stopped thinking about other things and focused on the mission.

‘It’s been a couple of hours since they started searching for the human. What can’t they find him?’
The purple-striped water spider was eating sothing wrapped inside the silk and thought about Leo, who disappeared without a trace.
‘Where did he actually go?’
Even though the spider queen asked him not to bother about the human, the purple-striped water spider could not stop thinking about Leo.
‘Until now, I captured thousands of wild monsters and it was the first ti a wild monster has escaped.’
The water spider showed its frustration on its food as it ate the corpse fiercely.
‘I need to check whether those low-level spiders are searching for the human or slacking in the water.’
When the purple-striped water spider thought about the rank 9 water spiders who always slack during work, it started eating faster so that it could go and inspect them.
At the sa ti, it could also search for the wild human.

‘Huff…even after devouring nearly 50 rank 9 water spiders, I didn’t awaken a single skill or talent. After I complete the mission, there is no need to waste my ti on these water spiders.’
What Leo wanted right now was to get at least three talents before leaving this world; however, he learned devouring the water spiders to awaken a skill or talent would be useless.

The host’s skill [Fire Claw] has been upgraded to level 9. Please upgrade the [Absolute Devour] to upgrade the skill beyond rank 9.
‘Anyway, it was good to upgrade my skills and talents awakened from the [Absolute Devour].’
Leo revealed a slight smile at the latest system notification; however, in the next second, he received another system notification which surprised him pleasantly.
‘Ding,
The host has killed 100 water spiders.
‘Ding,
The host can pick one of the following rewards:
1) One percent of potential increase for level 9 [Call of the Undead].
2) Ten percent of potential increase for level 8 [Space Manipulation].
‘Huh? One one reward?’
Leo was surprised with the rewards; however, he felt the rewards were low-tier.
Even though increasing one percent and ten percent potential for level 9 and level 8 talents was a little bit hard, it was not valuable in Leo’s eyes.
‘Anyway, since I earned the reward from killing the water spiders, I might as well take it.’
Without thinking much, Leo selected the second reward.
His undead summons were already increasing the potential for his level 9 [Call of the Undead]. So, he decided to increase the potential for level 8 [Space Manipulation].
‘Ding,
Space Manipulation (level 8), Potential (21/100).
It’s been only a few days since his skill got mutated, and it had already crossed the 20 percent mark in the potential.
‘Ding,
Do you want to continue the mission ‘Spider Killer’ or abort the mission?
After receiving the reward, the system asked Leo whether he wanted to continue the mission.
‘Of course. I want to. I still need to upgrade my [Wyvern Claw] to level 9.’
Even though the rewards for the mission were not enticing, Leo decided to continue the mission until he upgraded [Wyvern Claw] to level 9 because only then he could rge [Fire Claw] and [Wyvern Claw] into a new skill.
Ti continued to pass, and another hour passed by as Leo silently killed more than a hundred rank 9 water spiders and, at the sa ti, devoured them.
Even though he didn’t awaken a new skill or talent, Leo was satisfied with sothing else.
‘Ding,
The host’s skill [Wyvern Claw] has been upgraded to level 9. Please upgrade the [Absolute Devour] to upgrade the skill beyond rank 9.
‘Finally, it’s upgraded. I can now rge two claws.’
Since Leo could recover his energy from devouring the corpse, he was not tired; however, he decided to take a break to rge the two skills.
‘And what happened to the mission reward? I already killed 100 water spiders.’
Before he could rge them, Leo thought about the supposed rewards he should get for killing the 100 water spiders.
‘Ding,
The host has already received the reward for killing 100 water spiders. The next target will be higher than the previous one.
‘Huh? So, I have to kill more than 100 water spiders.’
Leo raised his brows as he concluded, ‘Wait a second…since the number of the water spiders I hace to kill increased, doesn’t that an the reward will also increase?’
Suddenly, Leo beca interested in the mission as he excitedly muttered, ‘If my guess is right, I might upgrade my [Space Manipulation] talent to level 9 today.’
