Ryosuke was exercising in the woods by the river. He wasn't practicing those taijutsu moves. Those were just tricks to attack.

Rock Lee had already accepted Might Guy as his teacher before he had graduated.
He was different from Neji and Tenten. He couldn't use ninjutsu, so he could only rely on taijutsu.
Might Guy appreciated his tenacious character, so when he was still studying in ninja school, he began to teach Rock Lee taijutsu.
But, Ryosuke was very suspicious that Might Guy had accepted Rock Lee early because he looked too similar to himself.
Of course, Rock Lee did work very hard, there was no doubt about it.
