Talent Awakening! Every Legendary Summon Grants Me Assassin Attributes Chapter 37: The Hunt offer 1! A Ranker I guess
After a while of trekking, Oliver finally reached the towering gates of Alkarya. The massive structures lood over him like silent sentinels, their tallic surfaces reflecting the dim light of the ga’s artificial sky. Upon arrival, he was t with waves and nods from other players.
So even stopped to greet him, while others simply stared as they walked by, their gazes lingering a second too long before moving on.
Lucky for him, whatever had motivated them to go on a rampage against him had completely died down.
’This gives back my breathing space finally,’ Oliver thought, a faint sense of relief settling within him.
Now that he had the Life Worm refining in the depths of his system, he had to wait for a while before he could move on with his plan.
’Should I just use the ti to go register with the association, so I can get a place for myself? Or should I go on a few hunts to level up and see what the Dark Crow can really do?’
Oliver stopped in his tracks, his boots scraping lightly against the stone pavent as he made up his mind and chose the second option.
"I’ll take one of the others with ," he thought, obviously referring to his slaves. Since he had allowed them to live, it would be better if he made them as strong as possible for now. So they be assets rather than baggage when the ti ca.
It was better to have a strong slave than a scrawny one that needed saving every now and then.
Oliver summoned the system interface, its translucent glow flickering before his eyes as he scrolled through his list of slaves. He paused, thinking about who to contact. However, before he could make a decision, he was suddenly interrupted.
A dashing young woman walked up to him, waving her hand in front of his face to catch his attention.
She was tall, though not as tall as him, with long straight pink hair that shimred faintly as it swayed. Her eyes were sharp yet beautiful, frad by dark lashes that gave her a striking presence. She had a cute face, but there was sothing beneath it—sothing dangerous. She wore a silver-colored Valkyrie-style suit that clung to her form, revealing more skin than it concealed, as though daring anyone to underestimate her.
Oliver would have usually ignored people like that. However, sothing about her aura felt... strange.
Powerful, maybe.
So he stayed and listened.
"Hi there, you’re Crow, right?" she asked with a sweet tone that almost made her sound adorable... almost.
Oliver nodded.
"Wow, that’s nice. I am Bai Mina," she replied with a wink.
Oliver’s brows rose for a brief second before settling back to normal. The woman before him was, without a doubt, a top-ranked player—just like him.
In his original life, she had been strong, daring, and friendly.
She had even taken him out for lunch once and paid for everything. Back then, he had thought she wanted to con him, eat and leave him to deal with the consequences. However, she had paid without hesitation.
And that hadn’t happened in the ga... but in real life.
She was a kindhearted soul.
Too bad for her. Good people died the earliest in this ga.
Oliver sighed faintly at the mories.
Mina, noticing his silence, tilted her head slightly in curiosity before speaking again, "I am also a Ranker, like you."
Oliver nodded. It would be rude to ignore soone who was genuinely a good person. Traits like those were rare... Extrely rare, in both his lives.
"It’s nice to et you," he replied calmly.
She smiled brightly at this. "As you know, the forr high-ranking player before you has moved on to the next level of the ga. Since you are already here... I’ve gotten curious."
"Curious?" Oliver asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.
She nodded fervently. "Yes, about your level of strength."
Oliver could already see where this was going.
In Alkarya, there was a strict limit to how many top-ranked players could exist at a ti. The sa rule applied to the other safe zones in the beginner level of the ga.
There were three safe zones: Alkarya, Zonin, and Balrum.
Each of these zones was only permitted by the system to host three Rankers, aside from Balrum of course, which could hold four.
A total of ten Rankers.
Whenever the system awarded a new Ranker, the current ones would have to decide who would give up their position. Once that decision was made, the removed Ranker would be forced to move on to the higher levels of the ga to continue progressing.
Though they lost their place in the town, their titles and benefits remained intact.
So Oliver figured that Bai Mina was trying to test his abilities. To see if he was strong enough to truly be a Ranker. Probably through so drawn-out sparring match or a tedious training session.
Both of which conflicted with his goal of getting stronger as fast as possible.
"Sorry, but I’ll pass," Oliver said, turning away from her as he began to walk off.
At that, Bai Mina giggled softly.
"What if I offer to pay you a thousand Karma Points in return?"
Oliver’s footsteps halted instantly.
He froze.
Even the players walking past them stopped in their tracks, their heads snapping toward Mina as if they had all heard sothing impossible.
A thousand Karma Points?
But she wasn’t joking.
She stood there with a calm smile, her expression unwavering, completely serious about her offer.
"Excuse ?" Oliver turned back, his gaze now locked onto her with sharp curiosity.
"Co with on a hunt," she said simply, her eyes gleaming, "and I’ll pay you a thousand Karma Points."
Oliver’s heart began to race, a slow smile forming across his lips.
This... this was exactly the kind of opportunity he had been waiting for.
It wasn’t just a chance to earn a fortune in Karma Points—
But also an opportunity to witness another Ranker in action.
