67: Chapter 67: Thoughts 67: Chapter 67: Thoughts Among all dragons, the Brass Dragon is the most enthusiastic about conversation and also the best at socializing, even to the point of presenting bountiful treasures as gifts in exchange for lengthy chats.

Though it’s a good-natured tal Dragon, a Brass Dragon could actually stoop to tailing others, paralyzing them with its hypnotic poison gas when they attempt to escape using magic or force, and then pinning them down with its massive claws or burying them in the sand, until it has had its fill of conversation.

That boisterous warrior nad Eggon was a Brass Dragon, which explained everything.

Otherwise, there was no way a warrior could out-talk a bard, babbling on and on, never once stopping.

While the Brass Dragon was indulging in giant striped lizard at with its legs crossed, Leon found Tassera.

Considering the Brass Dragon’s excellent hearing, Blue Dragon had prepared a spell in advance to avoid eavesdropping.

“Are we going to take him down?” Leon stealthily glanced at the Brass Dragon, even though they had just had a pleasant chat.

Blue Dragon reminded him, “He is an adult Brass Dragon.”

“Brass Dragon, the weakest of the tal Dragons, so what if he’s an adult?”

“But why should we kill him?

What’s the benefit in doing so?”

“He is a tal Dragon, and we are Colorful Dragons; we belong to different camps.”

“Alright, I believe you are a Red Dragon now, only a Red Dragon would rush to fight and kill without any consideration…

If he doesn’t interfere with us, and could even help us reach the tomb, why should we go looking for trouble?”

Leon’s mouth hung open slightly as he suddenly realized that he had grown dull; lying around in the Oasis City for the last half a year, indulging in good food and drink, had made him forget how to use his brain.

There was no deep-seated hatred or irreconcilable conflict between tal Dragons and Colorful Dragons.

The clashes that did occur were primarily over differences in philosophy and conflicting interests.

In truth, a solitary Brass Dragon would adopt a starving Blue Dragon baby, and Blue Dragons would even court Bronze Dragons.

“Although that Brass Dragon is quite dumb, you still need to be cautious.”

“I know.”

After the conversation ended, Leon returned to the Brass Dragon’s side.

As soon as the latter saw Leon, it imdiately shuffled its buttocks, devoured the giant striped lizard at with oil dripping from its mouth, and said…

the adventurers were no longer willing to talk to it, only this man in front of it didn’t mind keeping it company.

“Where are you from?”

“You must be one of the Imperial Nobles.”

“Many Imperial Nobles have black hair and black eyes like you, yet your appearance leans towards that of an Elf.”

“Are you a warrior or a swordsman, using just a hand-and-a-half sword?”

The Brass Dragon was an endless talker; even though Leon had ntally prepared himself and even had ulterior motives, he still found it annoying and couldn’t help but think wickedly: “Actually, my companion is also very eager to chat with you.”

“She obviously keeps her distance from .” The Brass Dragon glanced at Tassera, “and my sixth sense tells it’s better not to get too close to her.”

Leon shrugged helplessly but was relieved to discover that the Brass Dragon was quite easy to deal with.

In reality, there was no need to listen attentively to its ramblings; a smile and a nod here and there sufficed, and if he felt like it, he could throw in a perfunctory “then,” “continue,” or “haha” once in a while.

Finally, everyone was full and ready to hit the road.

Leon thought he would be spared from further tornt, but to his dismay, the Brass Dragon insisted on riding a cal alongside him.

However, as much as the Brass Dragon could talk, it was earnest in combat, never just barking orders.

With the Brass Dragon joining them, Leon saved a lot of effort, rely sitting atop the cal and watching the Brass Dragon fight monsters – the only downside being that he had to listen to the Brass Dragon’s never-ending stories of its past adventures afterward.

Cals chase the opposite sex during their mating season, or can be quite fast when they encounter danger, but normally when carrying people forward, they move only at the pace of a brisk human walk, managing just about one hundred kiloters in a day.

It seems that reaching the tomb deep in the desert would take several days.

A day later, without knowing when it started, the storm gradually intensified, visibility in the sandstorm clearly dropped, and the dry corpses of dead creatures began to appear, mainly various dry corpses of desert animals, with a few adventurers among them.

In the face of these dry corpses, the Brass Dragon, even in human form, still possessed considerable combat prowess, capable of severing an arm or a head of a dry corpse with a single swing of his sword.

Of course, the fact that those dry corpses were weak was one of the reasons; at best, they were on the level of mummies.

As the dry corpses continued to erge, Tassera beca busy, observing the dry corpses with an increasingly solemn expression.

“Is there a problem?” Leon asked, puzzled.

“These dry corpses shouldn’t be appearing in this part of the desert; they’ve all been raised by so kind of curse.” Tassera said, “There is a power affecting this area.

There’s definitely so evil creature lurking in the tomb of that Ancient Fallen Empire, and now its power is awakening.”

“So we should turn back now?” Leon asked.

“No.” Tassera said excitedly, “There must be forbidden knowledge hidden there…

We’ve co to the right place.”

“I think life is more important than knowledge.”

“As long as we don’t enter the main chamber of the tomb to face its master.”

“Good as long as you are aware…

Anyway, I can definitely run faster than you.”

As the team continued to move forward, the number of dry corpses increased.

The Brass Dragon could no longer handle them alone, primarily because so slipped through, and the rest of the team had to join the fight.

To prevent the Brass Dragon from asking too many questions, Leon only used basic slashes throughout, not employing any immobilization spells or Gathering Form and Scattering Energy; dealing with so dry corpses was not an issue.

We could already see the tomb in the distance, a blurred pyramid in the sandstorm, but it was getting dark and we would probably have to stay outdoors for the night.

Then, during the night, a large-scale attack occurred, especially since among the hoard of dry corpses there appeared to be a caster dry corpse with so intellect.

Of course, this did not trouble us, and the Brass Dragon, being truly vigorous, was unaffected by the flying sand.

Charging single-handedly towards the spellcaster dry corpse, as an adult Brass Dragon he retained his Legendary Resistance even in human form, completely disregarding any Command Skills or human immobilization spells, swiftly cutting down the spellcaster dry corpse.

However, this attack still left everyone feeling shaken, knowing that we were still a bit away from the tomb—if there were already such terrifying dry corpses here—no one wanted to die and beco a dry corpse here—not to ntion the possibly more terrifying creatures within the tomb.

“It’s alright.”

“Don’t be afraid.”

The Brass Dragon placed his hand on Leon’s shoulder as he stared in the direction of the pyramid.

After almost two days together, the Brass Dragon had co to see Leon as a friend, for a simple reason: Leon was easy to talk to in human form, and being well-educated, he was polite, which made it easy for the Brass Dragon to play along, and he did it quite cleverly.

“Trust , I am very strong,” the Brass Dragon continued, “I will protect you.

As long as I am here, I won’t let you encounter any danger.”

The Brass Dragon looked around, his heart full of pride.

You think I am a warrior called Eggon, but you don’t know I am actually a powerful Brass Dragon.

He was already fantasizing about the mont when danger ca, he would transform into his Brass Dragon form to save everyone, and he couldn’t help but smile.

The Brass Dragon stood beside Leon, looking at his profile, and suddenly nodded slightly.

This man seed to know everything, from why apples fall from trees to knowledge of over a dozen ways of cooking thods like roasting, frying, steaming, boiling, pickling…

especially skilled in handling politics.

Once the adventure was over, he would definitely invite him to his lair.

The female Mage was one of Leon’s companions, she also knew a lot, but she seed to look down on him sowhat.

Please, you only see the surface and you don’t realize I am the noble and powerful Brass Dragon.

Now you ignore , but the future …

you couldn’t reach if you tried.

The Brass Dragon turned to Tassera, deciding to invite her along when the ti ca.
