58: Chapter 58 Encounter with the Unauspicious Dragon 58: Chapter 58 Encounter with the Unauspicious Dragon Leon watched the tall and burly Efreeti, genuinely puzzled why his goal of laying low never seed to co to fruition, forever embroiled in fight after fight as though it never stopped.
Could it be because of his identity as a Red Dragon?
Red Dragons are notoriously chaotic and evil, universally hunted wherever they go, unlike benevolent tal Dragons who might be honored guests in many places.
Unless a Red Dragon lived a life of constant hiding or fled conflicts in a blow to their pride, battles were inevitable.
Or should he bla this world?
This world was far from peaceful Earth—not that Earth could be considered peaceful, with its own regions of war.
Free Arica with shootings every day.
Only the land of the Divine might be considered relatively safe—this world, however, was rife with conflict.
But maybe there’s nothing wrong with fighting and killing.
As long as one doesn’t challenge unbeatable foes and get consud by frustration, a life of combat can be filled with vigor.
It’s not as if lying low in a small town ans sipping tea and reading the newspaper all day; one could still enjoy barbecues, late-night snacks, card gas, and the Air Force.
Pushing aside these distracting thoughts, now was the ti for battle.
Leon stood up resolutely and raised his hand to summon his sword.
Since he wasn’t carrying the sword with him and it was currently stuck in the ground outside his temporary lair, summoning it would likely take so ti.
Over here, the Blue Dragon had flown to the side as soon as the fight began.
In her opinion, the Red Dragon was undoubtedly dood and would eventually seek her help in desperation.
On one hand, indeed, the Red Dragon possessed a physique that normal Red Dragons did not, his size nearly that of a teenage dragon while still at the young dragon stage.
But even if his physical strength matched a teenage dragon and his Breath Weapon was not inferior, it was a pity that to awaken Spell abilities one had to reach the teenage stage; normally they were not as strong as teenage dragons, and even a teenage dragon wouldn’t dare claim sure victory over an Efreeti.
On the other hand, she knew that Efreeti well—aware of just how powerful it was.
The Efreeti’s chainmail could even withstand a dragon’s Bite, and besides, it commanded a host of underlings and slaves, especially reputed to use Praying Skill—she wouldn’t dare affirm victory over it herself.
Lost in her thoughts, the Blue Dragon realized that the Efreeti on the battlefield had vanished into thin air.
The Blue Dragon wanted to warn the Red Dragon to be wary of the Efreeti’s Invisibility Technique, but she opened her mouth and said nothing in the end, feeling that the Red Dragon needed to taste so hardship.
Without hardship, the Red Dragon couldn’t grow.
As long as she was there to assure his survival, letting that beautiful and immature Red Dragon die would be a real sha.
The Blue Dragon’s gaze focused on the Red Dragon and noticed him rubbing his eyes.
Rubbing eyes won’t help see invisibility; one must see through Invisibility.
The Blue Dragon pursed her lips, only to discover the Red Dragon executing a tail swipe, striking the invisible Efreeti squarely.
Was this a re fluke or…
where did the Red Dragon disappear to as well?
The Blue Dragon looked around earnestly only to realize that she could no longer find the Red Dragon.
And then, suddenly, the Red Dragon appeared in midair, claw attack reaching into the void, dragging the Efreeti out of its invisible state and hurtling it straight down to the ground, creating a crater and eliciting a burst of flas and smoke.
How could a Red Dragon turn invisible?
Rubbing eyes allowed one to see invisible objects?
A re claw attack inflicting such damage on the Efreeti?
Confounded by a multitude of unanswered questions, the Blue Dragon saw the Efreeti rising from the ground, now looking seriously engaged in the fight, summoning all its underlings and slaves with a cry.
No need to worry about the Fire Elent; they couldn’t fly or attack from a distance, but swarms of spear-throwing Salamanders were quite formidable.
As the Blue Dragon considered this, she saw the Red Dragon land on a mountaintop, muttering sothing, and imdiately a divine yet eerie chant filled the air.
That wasn’t the song of the Harpies, it was blasphemous words.
With the blasphemous words resounding, those Salamanders either committed suicide or slaughtered one another…
Blue Dragon felt a chill run down her spine, believing that if the Efreeti hadn’t intervened to stop Red Dragon, in less than a minute all those Salamanders would probably have perished, and even now the death toll was considerable.
The faint howling noise drew Blue Dragon’s gaze; she turned to look and saw a sword inexplicably flying towards her.
Following the trajectory of the flying sword, she saw Red Dragon using its hind legs and tail for support as it stood up, and then caught the sword.
With one hand, Red Dragon caught the sword, and with the other pointed at the Efreeti, which then froze in the sky.
With the sword in hand, Red Dragon extended its arm towards the Efreeti, and the sword flew towards it.
By then, the Efreeti had escaped its paralysis, dodging the flying sword by morphing into a fiery red cloud…
Witnessing this, Blue Dragon couldn’t help but close her eyes and shake her head.
Reopening her eyes, Blue Dragon saw Red Dragon, now standing with a sword in his grip, engaged in a fierce swordfight with the Efreeti, who wielded a curved blade at the mountain top.
The clashing of tal rang incessantly, as the dragon and the Efreeti matched each other in battle.
Blue Dragon had heard that Efreeti were adept at using weapons, but Red Dragon wielding a sword?
That was sothing others might not understand, but Blue Dragon was well aware that a dragon’s forelimbs were not truly suited for grasping, and the seemingly simple act of using their front claws to snatch prey and take off wasn’t sothing all dragons could do, hence this sight truly contorted Blue Dragon’s expression.
Ah ah ah, Efreeti, you’ve gone too far; those beautiful scales, shiny like rubies, have been damaged.
I’m really going to fight you to the death.
Suddenly, Blue Dragon noticed Red Dragon taking deep breaths, its chest glowing like red-hot iron.
She wanted to make a sarcastic comnt, thinking it was obvious that the Efreeti was immune to flas.
Hadn’t she seen how fearless the Efreeti was?
But she quickly realized that the Efreeti was continuously screaming under the fla of Red Dragon’s fire.
The fla-immune Efreeti was burned by fire?
Was that Otherworldly Transmission?
The Efreeti actually abandoned its territory and fled?
Blue Dragon felt that she really witnessed sothing today.
Seeing the Efreeti flee, Leon of course also noticed the Efreeti had escaped, and at the sa ti was shocked that the Efreeti didn’t die after taking a blast of his Samadhi True Fire, but on second thought it made sense.
The Efreeti wasn’t just a minion; it was a powerful leader in its own right, and its Fla Immunity could negate so of the damage from the Samadhi True Fire.
“He actually let him escape.” Leon was a bit unwilling to let it go, thinking that no matter if the enemy flew or burrowed, he could hunt them down by following, but with Teleportation, he had no ans of counteracting it.
“I told you I could win,” Leon said, turning to look at Blue Dragon, deciding not to dwell on the Efreeti fleeing.
So beautiful, and yet maintaining such steady composure, Red Dragon, I wanted to talk so sense into you.
Thinking of the Efreeti’s wretched escape and glancing at the dead and wounded Salamanders on the ground, Blue Dragon was quite obedient, saying: “I saw it.”
“He actually let him escape.” Leon couldn’t let go of it after all.
“The Efreeti has fled, but its treasures cannot,” observed Blue Dragon, glancing towards Do Castle.
“Treasures are trivial; the main issue is it escaped.
The grass has been cut without uprooting the weeds,” Leon nodded, “The Efreeti has a strong vengeful spirit, doesn’t it?”
“I don’t think it would dare take revenge against you,” Blue Dragon glanced at Red Dragon, thinking to herself that you didn’t use any tricks nor seek help, and as a teenage dragon you were able to beat the Efreeti outright; when you grow up, what then?
The Efreeti might be vengeful, but it’s not brainless.
After a mont of silence, Blue Dragon said, “Since you don’t need , there’s no point in staying here.
I’m leaving, and you, enjoy your victory, and claim your trophies.”
Blue Dragon departed, hoping that they would never et again.
