Chapter 297: Chapter 292 Arrangent
Leon’s actions were quite swift; he quickly swept through Slankus’s lair, packing everything away with his Sleeve of the Universe, taking both useful and useless items alike, until he was overloaded. By the ti he returned to the surface, Cecilia and Tassera had not yet arrived.
Leon took a short rest, recovering a bit of his mana, when he suddenly heard the sound of wings flapping. Opening his eyes, he saw not only Cecilia and Tassera approaching, but Anglistra and Salovis also flying in.
“I rember I didn’t call you guys,” Leon said, his gaze sweeping over the two Red Dragons, one big and one small, showing undisguised disdain.
“Mother and I heard you were going to deal with a powerful old Green Dragon, so we rushed over to help…” Ever since the tomb adventure of the Ancient Fallen Empire, who knows how much Salovis yearned for another go, “not only do you not thank us, but you show such a face…”
“Where is that old Green Dragon who had the nerve to bully my precious son? Watch kill him with a single Fla Breath.” Anglistra looked around eagerly, itching to join the fray and then split the old Green Dragon’s treasure vault.
“You’re too late… don’t tell you can’t see those two bodies?” Green Dragons love to perch in the canopy, but Leon preferred to rest on solid ground, now standing and looking up at the tree crowns that blocked out the sky.
“You took down that old Green Dragon so quickly? And it was a giant old Green Dragon.” Anglistra exclaid in shock; a giant old Green Dragon was not sothing she could provoke, yet her son could easily kill it, “how is there also an adult Green Dragon?”
“Not only did I take him down, but I also cleaned out his treasure vault.” Leon looked around; that fallen Elf Druid was quite capable, having already organized a team to clean up the battlefield; all the weapons and equipnt of the half-green Dragon Guards he killed had been collected, saving him the ti of clearing the battlefield himself.
“We ca all the way from Watchtower Port; you can’t just leave us empty-handed,” Salovis complained.
“So what if you did it for nothing? I never called you; what does your self-appointnt have to do with ?” Leon left no room for debate, “don’t bla , you know that won’t work on .”
“I don’t care; thieves never leave empty-handed,” Salovis looked around; she saw the statue of an Elf maiden holding a water bottle pouring water at the center of the fountain and thought that maybe it could be taken back to decorate her lair.
“Aren’t there still plenty of Green Dragon remnants around?” Anglistra said grudgingly, looking at the Druid, Hobgoblins, and Orcs busily moving around.
“They’ve already surrendered to ,” Leon reminded, “I advise you not to act rashly.”
Leon suddenly rembered he had killed Hinton because that adult Green Dragon’s lair wasn’t nearby; it was still unsearched.
“I killed the smaller adult Green Dragon, but I haven’t located his lair, and his treasure vault remains unsearched…” Leon didn’t know when he started caring less about an adult Green Dragon’s treasure vault, “if you have the ti, you could go look for it.”
“Rember to split whatever treasure you find half and half with ; otherwise, don’t bla if I get angry.” Leon warned.
Leon sent off the Dragon Mother and Dragon Sister, then turned to Cecilia and Tassera, voicing the dilemma he faced.
Tassera, being an Evil Dragon, and a Blue Dragon at that, didn’t mind—though there was so pressure—splitting up the two Green Dragons and extracting their eyes, hearts, major blood vessels, and other materials rich in magic power for alchemy materials. Such valuable items couldn’t be ignored.
“I want to stay by my master’s side; I don’t want to leave my master.” Cecilia was unexpectedly resistant to Leon’s proposal for her to govern the Erald Corridor.
Indeed, the Erald Corridor was quite far from the Volcanic Island. Everyone knew a close imperial official was better than a distant local official. More importantly, just staying on that Volcanic Island could boost one’s strength significantly without doing anything.
“Moreover,” Cecilia, being a Green Dragon, was unlike a proud Red Dragon, willing to admit her shortcomings if necessary, “this territory forrly belonged to Slankus, an overpowered old Green Dragon’s domain. It’s not sothing I, a still-maturing Green Dragon, can manage.”
“That Elf Druid, Slankus’s steward, I don’t think I’m a match for him, nor for those half-green Dragons created by Slankus—they obeyed Slankus, and also obeyed you for killing him, but they may not obey .”
Cecilia continued, “The Erald Corridor borders the Talia Alliance… Slankus feared no adventurer from the Talia Alliance, but I can’t do that, unless you’re willing to stay here with to protect .”
“Such a large territory can’t be abandoned, can it?”
“I only have you, a Green Dragon, under my command; if you won’t manage, who will?”
“You can’t want to appoint Anglistra to rule the forest, right? As a Red Dragon, she dislikes forests and has a fiery temper; when would she accidentally set it ablaze?” Leon patiently persuaded, “Your strength may be lacking, but you represent —who would dare disrespect you?”
“As for the Talia Alliance… let’s lay low for now,” Leon hesitated for a mont, thinking he had too many issues at hand to stir up trouble with Talia Alliance.
“Even if the Talia Alliance becos aggressive, it doesn’t matter if we concede so territory; the area is too vast for us to govern effectively,” Leon said, “our current goal isn’t expansion outward, but digesting the land we have.”
Cecilia wrinkled her nose; she actually was quite willing to rule the Erald Forest, even if it ant working hard for a while. Once she had a firm grasp of the Erald Forest, she could still spend extended periods on Volcanic Island.
There were always issues needing Leon; he dallied in the Erald Corridor for two days before returning, and he wasn’t in a rush to establish a kingdom; such decisions required long-term planning, first needing to decide on a profession.
He considered becoming a Mage; even the clumsiest, most foolish Mage would do, as long as he was a Mage. Leon wanted to be a Mage, but he rembered that when he first t Tassera, he made nurous attempts to learn spells from her, facing countless frustrations before finally giving up, reluctantly accepting he lacked talent in spellcasting.
His current prowess qualified him to beco a Sect Master; becoming a Contract Mage serving any Sect Master for power and knowledge was impossible.
So people’s strengths lie in silent action, nimble motion, and concealnt. However, no dragon is ever a Stealth specialist, and a dragon becoming a Stealth specialist would be too bizarre.
Leon pondered for a long ti, realizing he only wanted to acquire a profession to earn a Golden Finger reward. He should choose a profession that’s easy to acquire, undoubtedly the ubiquitous warrior—a profession so common it’s almost like throwing a brick and hitting three at once. Most importantly, he conveniently had a warrior at his side—a Dragon Warrior.
When Bronze Dragon Fiora first appeared, she was disguised as a Knight; the profession of this righteous Knight Lady was a warrior, not a paladin, despite being a clergy mber.
