Chapter 243: Chapter 242 Another Wave Arises

A tropical island, mostly covered with palm trees, other tropical plants, and exposed rocks, with occasional drizzles. The further south you go, the higher the terrain, inhabited by various monsters, providing natural protection for the pirates living on the island.

This is Moon Bay, with the crescent-shaped island’s curve being Pirate City, a notorious criminal haven, an extrely dangerous place, where drunken pirates cause disturbances every hour, brawls and duels are commonplace.

The narrow and winding streets are full of taverns, currently echoing with noisy laughter, singing, and the clinking of cups. It’s the second floor of a relatively quieter tavern, where two obviously unusual pirates are eting.

If Leon were here, he would surely recognize the pirate wearing the captain’s hat; it’s the Undead Admiral who once visited him on Volcanic Island, gifting him a golden cat with ruby eyes, seeking to cooperate in taking down Watchtower Port.

The Undead Admiral is nad Castanin, and as an undead, he has no need for food. He’s at the tavern mainly because of the person sitting across from him, saying, “Admiral Haken, you must have heard.”

Haken is a Half-Giant, a hybrid of human and giant, over three ters tall, devouring food until swallowing an octopus tentacle as thick as a barrel, saying, “What are you talking about?”

“It’s about the Red Dragon at Watchtower Port.” Castanin rests his left hand on the table, holding his chin, looking at the murky sea, “Originally thought to be powerful, rumored to have chased an adult Red Dragon across the Lost Plateau…”

“I don’t know the truth about the events at the Lost Plateau.” Castanin says as he shifts his gaze from the sea to Haken, who finished the octopus tentacle and started on a giant crab claw, “But I can guarantee the truth about what happened at the Gold-plated Coast.”

“Many people saw it, that Red Dragon went to the Elf City looking for trouble, and was shot down from the sky by that Elf General, presumably nad Eran, and flew back to Volcanic Island in disgrace.” Castanin continued, rotating the ring on his index finger, “And so far, there’s been no revenge on those elves for a month.”

“A Red Dragon that cowardly?” Haken put down the giant crab claw.

“That cowardly indeed, I never thought it would be that cowardly.” As an undead, Castanin couldn’t make any expressions, “I rember when I visited on behalf of Moon Bay, it acted arrogant and overbearing… bluffing?”

Haken said, “I heard it’s actually a juvenile Red Dragon, just grown larger… If it’s just a juvenile Red Dragon, why… It shouldn’t be, if what it did at the Lost Plateau was false, soone should have exposed it by now.”

“Who knows?” Castanin shrugged, “All I know is, what family has a Red Dragon that got beaten by elves and for a month dares not retaliate… Even if it can’t take down an Elf City, attacking a few Elf Villages or talking tough should be possible, how could it just hide at Volcanic Island without moving.”

“So?” Haken licked the sauce off his lips, squinting at Castanin, “You want to do sothing, attack Volcanic Island or Watchtower Port?”

“Forget it, I don’t have the ability to attack those two places, at most…” Castanin sneered, “Back then, I was scared by it, thinking it was so powerful.”

“At such a level, being shot down from the sky by soone, why does it have the right to forbid us from attacking rchant ships near Watchtower Port…” Castanin adjusted the captain’s hat, “Why does it have the right to forbid us from attacking ships coming and going to Watchtower Port.”

“I heard sothing interesting… that Red Dragon isn’t as weak as you think.” Haken finished the last bit of food on his massive plate, grabbed a beer mug and drank it all.

Haken wiped his mouth with a large hand, saying, “The Elf General used a Dragon Slaughter Arrow.”

“Are Dragon Slaughter Arrows very powerful and rare?” Castanin bit his finger, “I rember Mark, he has several, right? To deal with the Bronze Dragon.”

Bronze dragons have a strong sense of justice and do not tolerate any form of cruelty or lawlessness, so many pirates have experienced swift retribution from Bronze Dragons.

To avoid being powerless against a Bronze Dragon, wealthy and capable pirates often prepare Dragon Slaughter Arrows to deal with or even kill Bronze Dragons.

As for why it’s a Dragon Slaughter Arrow instead of a Bronze Dragon Slaughter Arrow, unless you have the ability to make or customize one, it’s hard to find arrows targeting specific dragons in the market.

“I know what you’re talking about… I have sources, and I also know that Red Dragon has a piece of Dragon Armor.” Castanin said, “Those elves stripped the Dragon Armor off that Red Dragon, as long as the Dragon Armor is stripped, that Red Dragon is as harmless as a chicken.”

“Do you have the ability to strip the Red Dragon of its Dragon Armor?” Haken rotated his neck.

“I don’t have the ability.” Castanin’s smile was sowhat eerie, “But the elves have already stripped off the Dragon Armor for us.”

Haken laughed heartily, saying, “You can try, attack rchant ships, provoke the Red Dragon… I don’t know why you, an undead creature, need so much money.”

“No one dislikes money.” Castanin said.

It was a moonless, windy night.

On the calm Flash Sea, a rchant ship was slowly sailing, its sails flapping in the sea breeze.

The captain of that rchant ship was a Half-Elf with Dark Vision, standing at the bow, gazing out at the endless sea.

Just one more day to reach Watchtower Port, then they can rest for a few days.

Watchtower Port… It’s hard to describe the feeling, where rchant ships actually rely on a Red Dragon occupying Watchtower Port for protection, a Red Dragon actually protecting rchant ships, though with the premise that the rchant ship is in the vicinity, conducting business to Watchtower Port.

Regardless, as long as the goods can be safely delivered to the destination, it doesn’t matter if they rely on a Red Dragon or a Bronze Dragon.

The captain was lost in thought, when suddenly he saw a pirate ship approaching from the darkness.

Located on the Flash Sea, not far from Watchtower Port, and belonging to the Gold Shore Chamber of Comrce, the pirates shouldn’t dare attack, they should glance and sail away, not approach the closer.

Thinking much is useless, the pirate ship appeared, and the urgent matter was to drive off the pirates. The Half-Elf captain imdiately sounded the alarm, urging the crew to arm themselves and stand ready on deck.

The rchant ship wasn’t ard, while the pirate ship had cannons but dared not use them recklessly, else they would sink the rchant ship and lose the loot.

The pirate ship chose to approach the rchant ship, throwing grappling hooks to firmly latch onto the rchant ship, and the pirates launched a boarding attack.

Compared to the guards on the rchant ship, the pirates were obviously more trained and nurous, quickly gaining the upper hand with their rich naval combat experience.

Without any surprise, despite the crew of the rchant ship fighting desperately, they were unable to withstand the ferocious pirates.

The pirates swiftly took control of the entire rchant ship, began looting the treasures, and quickly emptied them, returning to their pirate ship with the loot and disappearing into the vast sea.
