Calculating heart, distinct from scheming mind.
Scheming mind refers to one's depth of thought and city, while a calculating heart refers to a utilitarian attitude towards dealing with people and matters. The forr represents a person's intelligence, while the latter reflects one's approach to others and things. Jiang Liuguang's excessive calculating heart made the two feel that he wasn't genuinely intent on joining the Buddha Country, possibly betraying their side in the future, hence their words.
"Precisely because of that, it's necessary to give him the Great Sun Tathagata Dao Fruit."
Manjusri showed no worry at all, and calmly said, "Cultivators bear the Dao Fruit, and the Dao Fruit can also influence the cultivator's nature. Among all the paths, Buddha, demon, and magic have the greatest impact on nature. The demonic and magical Dao Fruits excite a cultivator's innate desires, while Buddha Attribute Dao Fruit subtly guides cultivators towards the Dao of Buddhism."
"The Great Sun Tathagata Dao Fruit aligns with Jiang Liuguang. Once he acquires it, he will certainly ditate on it daily. Coupled with his practice of the Summoning Technique, gaining the incense belief, further catalyzing his compatibility with the Great Sun Tathagata Dao Fruit, deepening his change in nature, potentially even transforming his foundation into the Buddhist Path. By then, he'll realize that we are truly his fellow travelers, and he won't be able to leave the Buddha Country."
The change in nature is secondary, the key is binding Jiang Liuguang's future to the collective fate of the three. Nothing secures allegiance more than kindred spirits.

Manjusri's expression remained calm, like a tranquil pool, serene and unperturbed, "I wish to rely on my own strength to directly face the Chief."
At this mont, what Manjusri's calm exterior revealed was a resolute will and fervent ambition.
"Buddha Friend, I know you still have strong support, but that support is not your kindred spirit, we are the ones on the sa path."
Manjusri also replied to Tan Wuwei with an implied ssage, exhibiting strong confidence in his words, "How to proceed, I hope Buddha Friend will ponder more deeply."
He left with these words, then turned and walked out of the main hall.
Leaving Tan Wuwei and Guanyin inside, only to hear Tan Wuwei softly saying, "It seems, Manjusri Buddha Friend has considerable confidence in the ascent."
The only thing that could give rise to such thoughts in Manjusri is the prospect of ascension.
This suggested that Manjusri wasn't simply absorbing incense for the sake of it but essentially preparing for an ascension. It's uncertain which Dao Fruit he plans to ascend to, though.
The Buddha Country's heritage system is quite complete, with multiple Second Grade Dao Fruits. Eliminating the Tathagata Fruit targeted by the Awakened years ago, the choices remain the Great Sun Tathagata, Randeng Tathagata, and dicine Buddha as the three Second Grade Dao Fruits, leaving one to wonder which one Manjusri intends to set as his goal.
