Great Zhou’s Geographic Records account that the land of Yong Province stretches over ten thousand miles, enriched with iron mines, gems, and porcelain, as well as...
Rebels!
The last battle before the establishnt of the Great Zhou took place in Yong Province. At that ti, a powerful enemy who called himself "Military God" had obtained the Warlord Dao Fruit and intended to hold his Promotion Ceremony in Yong Province. Warriors from the Ji Family and the Jiang family joined forces to confront this formidable enemy in a historic battle in Yong Province.
Ultimately, the Promotion Ceremony was thwarted, the enemy was annihilated, but both the Ji Family and the Jiang family suffered heavy casualties.
Among them, a third-rank strong person from the Ji Family had embraced the Drought Demon Dao Fruit and cultivated in the style of Zhu Rong Dharma from the Yellow Emperor’s Six Ministers, achieving the ultimate mastery of fire. In this battle, she was gravely injured, beca possessed by her Fla Qi, uncontrollably spiraling her Dao Fruit Ability into a frenzy, transforming three thousand miles into scorched earth. The once thriving region in the state almost turned into barren land, which has left Yong Province prone to droughts still to this day.
Due to the presence of cultivators, this world generally retains a clearer historical mory, unlike in Jiang Li’s previous life where people would forget national and familial grudges within a century.
To this day, the people of Yong Province still rember who caused the dire environntal changes, placing the royal court’s reputation in this province at the bottom among the Nine Provinces.
"Even today, there are people in Yong Province who reminisce over the Military God, believing that if he had triumphed, Yong Province would definitely have beco the center of Divine Country, the richest place under the heavens, but in reality..."
On the official road, as the horse carriage sped along, Feng Manlou opened the carriage window to look out, his gaze wandering over the increasingly evident yellow earth, "That great battle was intentionally provoked by the Military God himself. It seed as if the Ji Family and the Jiang family were invading Yong Province, but in fact, it was the Military God who actively lured the enemy there. One of the objectives of the Warlord Dao Fruit Promotion Ceremony was to kill the leaders of the Ji Family and Jiang family, who are direct blood descendants of the Human Emperor."
"My elder brother is truly erudite," Jiang Li offered tily praise.
"What’s this?" Feng Manlou, with a look of weariness, slowly said, "It’s rely the basic duty when serving as a Prince Consort. As a Prince Consort, one needs to know the history of dynasties, affairs of the Royal Family, particularly those significant matters affecting the royal fa, and must keep them close to heart. Before getting married, the Zong Zheng tests these. I lived in the Imperial Palace’s Dragon Abyss Pavilion for a month just to morize all these."
"It is not easy being an affiliated son-in-law, let alone being a Prince Consort."
He thus lanted, his face and eyes filled with weariness.
Although a Prince Consort is nominally not an affiliated son-in-law, his status in the family fully matches that of an affiliated son-in-law. For example, in Jiang Li’s forr ancient life, there were cases of princesses frolicking with pretty n inside the house while the Prince Consort guarded outside.
However, such examples assu the Prince Consort lacks rit.
But Feng Manlou certainly has the rit.
’He’s still pretending.’
Jiang Li sneered silently to himself and then glanced at the Karma Collection, ensuring it recorded all of Feng Manlou’s words and actions.
These were all to be carefully analyzed later to see if there were any hidden anings.
The reason Jiang Li excelled in interactions was based on ticulous background research.
Of course, these are matters for later; for now, focusing on "one of the escapees" is more crucial.
He placed the bamboo slip on the small table inside the carriage and watched it with Gongsun Qingyue, occasionally discussing a point or two.
The horse carriage from the storage magic tool provided by Feng Manlou was extrely stable, feeling no rocking at all. The horses pulling the carriage were chanical creations, and the carriage itself was inscribed with a Shock Absorption Array. Inside, there was a Dao Artifact serving as an energy source providing power for the chanics, far surpassing an ordinary carriage.
Of course, soone still needed to drive the carriage, otherwise, it would only travel in a straight line. So now, the lowest-ranked Luu Wangji and Jiang Luo were driving outside.
Riding in the almost shake-free carriage, with his senior sister beside him adding fragrance like a blossoming flower, Jiang Li was completely imrsed in learning, unrescuably engrossed, occasionally responding with a word or two to the thrifty elder brother, leaving Feng Manlou feeling a bit dull looking for topics to chat.
At that mont, a stone monunt passed by the window, and Jiang Luo’s voice imdiately ca from outside the carriage, "Elder Brother, we’ve reached Fufeng."
Fufeng County, the location of Jiang Shui in Jiang’s Ancestral Land, was not far from here.
Outside, the hue of the yellow earth increasingly dominated, the temperature noticeably rose, and the dry hot wind surged into the carriage, causing Gongsun Qingyue to frown slightly.
Yong Province was already drought-prone, and with the Taiping Sect moving the rainwater by summoning Transformation Snakes, most areas in Yong Province were experiencing intense heat, including Fufeng County, which although was not deep within Yong Province, was still in the drought zone.
It was only because Jiang Li and others had exposed the actions of the Taiping Sect, otherwise, if they had continued to transport rainwater for a while longer, Yong Province would have inevitably fallen into severe drought.
"Be careful, during tis of drought, bandits and mountain thieves are always plentiful, not to ntion that the land of Yong Province is already a mix of dragons and snakes," warned Jiang Li.
As the most chaotic province in Great Zhou, Yong Province was not only ho to countless rebels but also devil cultivators, Buddhist practitioners, and many cultivators whose allegiance to good or evil was unclear.
To the west of Yong Province lay the Buddha Country.
Within the territory of Yong Province, there was a mountain called "Huqi," where devil cultivators who possessed the Dao Fruit of fox species often resided.
All in all, encountering anything on the road was not unusual.
"Do not worry, you previously drew an auspicious divination, so nothing dangerous should happen on this journey," Feng Manlou said with a smile.
Although that divination was influenced by his own presence, the overall trend was still accurate.
If any danger were to occur on this journey, he, Feng Manlou, would eat the horse carriage...
"Hey! This road is mine, this tree is mine, if you want to pass, leave behind a toll for the road!"
A robust and powerful shout echoed from ahead, and the old-fashioned jargon from the bandit interrupted Feng Manlou’s reverie.
Were there really bandits?
"Just so minor thieves, the two outside can handle them, it’s not a danger," Feng Manlou’s smile froze for a mont, then he continued.
Yet in his heart, he felt a surge of spontaneity.
"Where did these trivial thieves co from, daring to block our way?"
Outside, a shout from Jiang Luo followed by the whistling sound of clothes suggested that Jiang Luo had taken action.
And then...
The temperature suddenly rose, a gust of hot wind swept by, and within the wind, a trace of red could be faintly seen.
"Uh-ah!"
Jiang Luo let out a brief cry of pain and then fell silent.
"Innate Qi?!" exclaid the bandit.
"Such strong Fla Qi," both Jiang Li and Gongsun Qingyue stood up simultaneously.
Feng Manlou’s mouth twitched slightly as he muttered under his breath, "Unlucky."
The divination was indeed accurate, but no danger didn’t an they wouldn’t encounter powerful individuals.
Jiang Li and Gongsun Qingyue stepped out from the carriage, followed by Qi Changsheng, who readied his Revolver, an awe-inspiring weapon of wisdom.
Simultaneously, the bandit blocking the road also caught Jiang Li’s attention.
’This Qi chanism... has the Jiang family really fallen to such a state?’
Seeing the other party and observing his Qi, Jiang Li arrived at a result that left him both amused and distressed—the bandit blocking the road was indeed a mber of the Jiang Clan.
