DAHLIA POV

My back started healing after Madam Heidi graciously offered the salve to apply to my skin when she ca over. The imnse relief I felt as Heather rubbed the salve to my body made so relaxed, I slept off. When I ca to in the evening, I could already rest on my side although the ache was still there.

Madam Heidi had stared at then gave a warning that this was the last ti she better hear of my disrespect and that next ti, I wouldn’t even have the luxury of such relief. With that she turned away and left the room, leaving and Heather who bowed so low her small form cowering as Madam Heidi brushed past her.

After she left, I had fall into a deep sleep right afterwards. When I woke up again, the room was dimly lit by a single candle burning on the bedside. The pain in my back had subsided to throbbing soreness, painful but tolerable still, a reminder of the pain I had endured these past days. My stomach growled with hunger, and I knew I hadn’t eaten since dawn.

"Heather!" I called as I sat up straight on the bed.

Heather ca out of the bathroom, an apron tied tightly around her petite fra and her sleeves rolled up to her elbows. Her face lightened at the hearing of my voice, though her exhaustion was evident in the dark circles around her eyes.

"My lady, you’re awake, Oh thank the gods!" She said, her tone filled with relief while rushing to my bedside. "How are you feeling? Does the pain still bother you?"

I nodded slightly. "It’s manageable now, just sore. But I’m starving."

"That’s expected, you’ve been sleeping for quite a bit now." Heather said with understanding, "I guess I should go eat so of that leftover porridge?"

The minute she said that my stomach released another loud growl as if in protest. Clearly the baby inside of wasn’t in the mood for so porridge and Heather’s eyes widened as she stared down at my stomach. Then the slightest hint of a smile ford on her lips before a small smile escapade her. It was the first smile I’d witnessed in days from her ad for an instant the darkness of the room seed to recede.

"Seems the young master isn’t in the mood for porridge." Heather said still laughing.

I smiled at her, "Actually not only him." I confessed causing Heather to glance up at , "I fear if I try to consu another porridge, I might actually vomit."

Heather heaved out a sigh before she stood up, "So, what do you feel like eating?"

I sat down and thought about it for a minute, I’ve actually been bed ridden for a while and now that I was okay. I was in the mood for so real food. Sothing hot, rich, and satisfying.

"I’m hungry for sothing rich," I finally admitted, smiling with my lips into a small grin. "Maybe a roasted at or a bread that’s hearty to go along with a stew."

Heather raised an eyebrow, her hips stuck firmly onto her hips. "A stew? You’re living high-priced now, my lady," she playfully chided lightly, although there was an undertone of relief to her tone.

"Whatever’s next?" I said, laughing. "I can’t live on porridge indefinitely, can I? Either that or I’ll be dreaming about roasted chicken legs tonight."

Heather smiled warmly at but it was one that didn’t quite reach her eyes which told that sothing was wrong.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"There is no supplies in this house my lady and Lady Marina ordered that none should be moved here. She said since you moved, you should be able to provide for yourself."

I groaned inwardly. "That fucking old hag!" I cursed under my breath.

Even if she was going to be heartless she should at least be considerate that I was carrying her son’s heir, but then again, she never considered her daughter in law and accused of infidelity. "That fucking bitch!" I cursed out loud again in anger.

Heather’s gaze widened at my outburst and she turned to glance around the room as if there was soone else that would be listening to our conversation. "My lady please, you need to be careful! You can’t let yourself start to get really angry!" She cautioned, "If this gets back to Lady Marina, you know it will only make things very hard for you!"

"But I am hungry!" I whined at her, "I’m in pains right now, my back is literally screaming in agony and now I can’t even eat what I want because I have to worry about where my next al was going to co from?" I asked scoffing in disbelief as I fisted my hands tighter feeling anger course through my veins.

I should have punched that woman in her face when I had the chance!

Heather heaved out a sigh, "Well, it seems the lady wants you to beg for food?"

Typical! I thought to myself as I heaved out a sigh then stood up from the bed and began to head straight for the bathroom.

"What are you doing my lady?" Heather asked.

I began to undress myself as I walked to the bathroom. "Well if the lady of the house wants to beg for food then that’s exactly what I will do!"

"You are heading back to the main house?" Heather asked looking every bit surprised.

"Well yes, if I am to get any food to eat!" I said firmly, my voice filled with acceptance.

Sighing Heather started forward, "My lady I do not think that is wise. Knowing Lady Marina, she will stop at nothing than to humiliate you!"

"Trust Heather, the only thing humiliating is eating left over porridge!" I inford her with a wry smile, "Besides, I have just been told to respect my elder ones and that I suppose includes sharing a al with them." I turned around to give Heather a smile.

Sighing warily, Heather cocked her head at . "You know this isn’t going to end well?"

"Perhaps." I responded, "But as long as I can get a food in my belly, then I don’t really care. Now pick out sothing for to wear." I said before I decided inside the bathroom and take my bath.
