REAGAN POV
Dahlia held on to tightly and I could feel her literally trembling in my arms. She had claid he had found us and I really wanted to know who the hell he was. Nikolai darted towards us with an urgent look on his face as he unsheathed his sword.
"We are surrounded!" He yelled at .
Well, fuck! I cursed still holding on to Dahlia who was still clutching on to tighter, still shivering. I wrapped my hand around her to steady her but she still continued to shake and she trembled even more when all of a sudden we heard a loud voice.
"Gentlen, it would appear we have an usual visitor in our midst!" The voice called out.
A quick look showed a man standing on a tower, his cloak billowing behind him as he stood with a dozen armies all of them holding arrows ready to fire. One of them shot the arrow at but I was quick to move out of the way just in ti. I held Dahlia closer to just as the arrow struck the wall with a loud thud. It turns out that they were going to kill us if we tried to take Dahlia out of this place.
"They are trying to kill us." Nikolai yelled out just as the archers on the wall released a bunch of arrows that hit the wall where we hid.
"You think?" I asked him as the archers rained down more arrows at us.
I peeked behind , my gaze focusing on the figure on the high tower. He stood with his hand folded behind him and there was no denying the authority he had. I glanced back at Dahlia who held tightly and she was so stiff that I thought she wasn’t breathing.
This must be him then, the person who hurt her!
"Do you know who I am?" I roared out.
It was quiet for a minute before I heard a response. "Your status do not hold any power here hell hound!"
So he knows who I am then? I thought to myself with a smirk on my face. "Wonderful, you do know your lessons well, then you should also know I am here to take that of which belongs to ."
"I’m afraid I have no idea of what you are talking about." The man replied in a smug tone.
Chuckling, I released Dahlia and slowly step forward. Dahlia reached out to grab by my hand, her eyes silently pleading with not to step out. I smiled at her, offering her a comfort before I decide to face the bastard coward who had laid hands on my wife.
"How about I make you a deal?"
"How about I kill you right now?"
I chuckled as I stared at him. I admire his bravery, I do but it was also incredibly foolish of him. He may have heard of but he hasn’t seen what I can do. He raised his hand in a silent command and I watched his army draw their arrows in perfect unison, the tips glinting under the moon light that surrounded the arena. I smirked while tilting my head to the side.
What a fool! I thought to myself just as he dropped his hands causing the soldiers to release theirs strings. Arrows rained down like rain drops, they whistled eerily, the sound of that death ant to pin down to the floor. I unsheathed my swords just as Nikolai rushed towards with a shield and a sword.
We moved fast like lightning. We struck down the arrows before they could hit us. We moved gracefully like dancers as we defended our body against the arrows. The way we moved was intense, the sound of tal and arrows bouncing off as sparks flew off in the dark. Nikolai and I worked together to fend off the arrows and all of a sudden it stopped.
Breathing heavily I glanced up to see the soldier staring at us with that smug look on his face all I wanted to do was just carve it off with my blade. I willed myself to calm down instead, he would what was coming to him. Besides, it wasn’t who would serve him his justice, it would be her.
I heard footsteps crunching into the snow and a quick glance showed Dahlia who was coming towards with a fierce look in her gaze. She was slowly starting to return back to herself.
"Oh look who we have here, the little princess have co out to play." The soldier said and when I saw Dahlia shivers lightly.
I wanted to grab her hand and shield her away but she still had that fierce look on her face so I stayed still. Shielding her from him would only make her look weak when she is trying so hard to be strong in front of her captor.
"How about you return to your cage like a good little girl and I promise I will go easy on you next ti we play." The captive said, each words grating on my nerves like daggers dragging across my skin.
Dahlia slowly stepped forward keeping her eyes on the man. There was no single hesitation in her steps when she walked. She glared up at the soldiers with her green eyes bright with the fire I love so much.
"I will have your head." She said with a small voice but it still carried a bit of power in them.
The man laughed as he cocked his head at her, "You are starting to feel brave princes, it must be because your husband is here." He said his gaze flicking to mine, a gaze which I t with a glare of my own. "Oh well, I am afraid that won’t be possible. You won’t be getting out of there alive!"
"You talk too much." Nikolai suddenly said, "You must really like hearing the sound of your own voice."
"I do, it sounds like power don’t you think?"
"Annoying is more like it, don’t you agree Reagan?"
"Oh I do agree, it makes my ears bleed."
That didn’t seem to please the soldier because he straightened and even from here, I could tell his posture looked tense, like he was about to snap. "You can joke all you want." He said through gritted teeth, "The fact remains, none of you will be leaving this place alive! A hell hound in captivity, now that will make a good addition."
I snorted in response, "Believe I have no intention of being part of your collection. I am going to kill you for daring to even make such assumptions."
"Oh yeah, you and what army?"
Imdiately he asked that question, there was a loud explosion one that shook the earth. I imdiately grabbed Dahlia to protect her just as another explosion sounded again. The tower started to shake and bricks flew everywhere along with dusts. The large iron gates fell down with a loud thud as smoke and fire appeared followed with loud footsteps. He dark figures could be seen, all of them trooping in in large numbers. They wore armors and carried swords and behind them I could hear the loud sound of a cannon rolling in.
My army had arrived! I thought to myself as I stared at two other figure who entered raising their swords high as they strolled in, Killian and Bjorn.
"Apologies if we were late to the party." Killian said with a smirk on his face.
"You arrived just at the right ti." Nikolai said as he got ready to face off the soldiers who were starting to attack us.
I grinned as I looked up at the soldier who looked around fearfully as he yelled out an order for his army but they were no match for my army. Turning to look at Dahlia, I grabbed her shoulders. "You should go hide sowhere."
"No." Dahlia shrugged my hands off her, "I will go free the prisoners." She said and before I could ask her, she grabbed one of my sword and took off.
It was on the tip of my tongue to call her back and have her stay right by my side. She was weak, she was still bleeding and doesn’t have much strength. But I didn’t because that was Dahlia, she was always going to do whatever she wants. No one could stop her, not even .
I watched as she ran, or at least tried to. She headed towards the smoke before she disappeared into a long corridor. My heart clenched with fear but I knew she was going to be okay, I have to trust in her abilities no matter how weak she was. Even though she was in pain, she still ran towards danger, instead of away from it.
Once again, Dahlia was selfless. Putting the need of the people first before her own.
