I scread loudly using all my breath as I tried to push the baby out. I collapsed back against the edge of the bathtub, practicing my breathing techniques that I had learnt. The pool was too bloody, so Heather and Ivana had found a bathtub, filled with water and carried inside it. I scread again as I held my knees but there was still nothing. Heaving out a sigh, I rested my head backwards, breathing heavily as Ada coerced to push again and I swear I was just one minute away from punching her. She keeps asking to push like it was that easy to push a human out of my vagina. Heather and Ivana wiped my brows with so towel, murmuring words of encouragent.

"You can do it Dahlia, just..."

"Please don’t tell to push." I said breathing out, "I am doing my best here!"

"Well it’s not good enough!" Ada snapped at , "The longer you stay like this, the more dangerous it becos for you and the baby, now push!"

Ivana’s head snapped up as she glared at Ada. "Do you like maybe want to take it easy on her? She’s trying her best here!"

"Like I said her best simply isn’t good enough!" Ada retorted sharply, "We are under attack, my sisters are out there in the woods trying to look for a way out and I’m damn sure those draumheimiers are also in the woods with them. So I’m sorry if I do not have the ti to coddle your perfect little princess!"

Heather scoffed in disbelief but didn’t say anything. She just continued to dab the wash clothes on my body. She smiled softly at as she removed the matted hair that stuck to my forehead. "You are doing great my lady."

I nodded my head weakly as I stared at her. "You think?"

"Of course, the baby is going to co anyti soon!"

"Not if she continues like this..." Ada snorted and we all turned to glare at her.

The look on Heather’s face changed from concern to that of anger. She slamd down the towel she was holding and glared up at Ada, "Okay seriously what is your problem?"

"I do not have a problem_"

"Uh, could have fooled ."

Ada shot her a glare but didn’t say anything else instead she continued. "My sisters are in danger, the keeper too...."

"Would have been dead." Heather finished for her, "They would have all been dead if it hadn’t been for our perfect princess who we are busy coddling." Heather said with a smile but there is no mistaking the bite in her tone. "She is hurt, she suffered the most from taking down most of those barbaric bastards and in between she is giving life in so rundown building tainted with those bastard bloods and do I also ntion she is losing blood or did you just suddenly beco blind to everything when you don’t have a knife pressed to your throat?"

If I wasn’t out of breath, I would have cheered for her. Ada lips pressed into a thin line while a solemn expression rested on her face but she didn’t say anything. She couldn’t because there was nothing she could have said that would have made her look less...cruel!

Heather with her increasing frustration continued, she stepped closer towards Ada with a look of determination on her face. "Now unless you’ve got sothing nice to say Ada, I suggest you shut the fuck up and help us bring this baby into the world without saying another thing that would hurt my lady. I also know you do not care about titles here but since it’s already gone up to flas, give the princess the treatnt that she deserves!"

Everyone grew quiet apart from my own ragged breathing. I guess one thing was certain now, never get on Heather’s bad said. She was like a mama bear protecting her cub. I smiled into the water but winced in pain when I felt another contraction rippled through .

The rage on Heather’s face instantly lted away as if it had never been there. "You are almost there, m’lady." Heather encouraged softly, "Just give one big push!"

I grunted as I pushed with all my strength but I fell down with a grunt. I was tired, I was just so tired. "I can’t Heather."

Heather shook her head at as she stroked my cheeks lovingly, "Yes you can sweetheart, you can."

"I’m tired."

"I know baby, but you’ve got to do this first and you can have all the rest that you want." Heather said stroking my head, "You just have to do this, just like we practiced."

"I didn’t practice giving birth."

"I know sweetie, I’m just saying whatever to make you feel better!" Heather said and I groaned.

Ivana gasped and I turned to see her squeezing the towel she was using to clean my wound. "She’s losing blood, a lot of it."

"Look, let’s just get this baby out, we can worry about her later because she’s just in pain right now and I know child birth is more painful than any other flesh wound." Ava stated.

She was right, through the combination of my fatigue and the pain from giving birth, I found it difficult to see things. The world around was starting to beco blurry but my friend’s soothing voice helped stay connected to reality.

Ivana touched my face gently, "You are doing great okay. You are doing really good, so just push okay."

"I’m really tired."

"Yeah, serves you right for marrying a man with such big head." Ivana retorted and even through the pain, I let out a laugh which sounded more like a wheeze.

Heather also laughed and also Ada snorted a laugh too in response as we all stared at Ivana who shrugged. "What? You all know he has a big head, so perhaps his son was just like that too."

"Oh hush!" Heather dismissed Ivana, "You have our support my lady. We are right here and we won’t leave your side, so now let’s do this together!"

I offered her a small smile as I reached for her hand. My vision beca blurry again and I wanted to give in to the exhaustion that was taking over my whole body but then I thought about Reagan and the baby that was trying to co out into this world. He wouldn’t want to give up, sa thing with Reagan.

I can’t give up, at least not yet!

"Okay," I rasped out, "Let’s just do this again."

"That’s my girl!" Ada rubbed my shoulders with a supportive smile on my face.

Nodding my head, I relaxed myself in the bath tub. With deep labored breath, I buried my emotions beneath the pain and the fear, including the ghosts of my mind. Bracing myself, I unleashed a loud scream till my voice grew hoarse. I used all the strength within and pushed the life that was inside of .

And then, through the pain and hopelessness, there was a cry. A shrill piercing sound that signaled the coming of a new life.

Ada wasted no ti, in reaching below to pull the baby out fully out of and Heather quickly clipped the cold, while Ivana wrapped the baby with one of the towel.

"It’s a boy." Ada announced looking down at the baby with a smile on her face, "He’s beautiful."

Though I was weak but I still wanted to see my baby. "Let...Let see, please!"

Ada nodded her head and handed my baby. Giggling, I wrapped my arms around his body, hugging him close to my chest. He was warm and small but he was the most powerful thing I’ve ever heard in my life. He continued to cry loudly as I held him in my hands, his tiny arms and legs shaking even though Ivana was trying to wrap so clothes around him.

"My little rebel!" I whispered with a chuckle as my heart swelled with a lot of emotions and the bond I was about to share with my beautiful boy. "Mommy’s right here, mommy’s got you!"

Heather leaned forward and hugged . "You did it my lady, you did it!" She cheered on and all I could do was just smile at her.

"He’s so precious, I an just look at him!" Ivana leaned forward and grabbed his small fingers.

We were all smiling and I was really grateful that I finally did it. I brought my son into this world and he was perfect, so perfect I was going to do anything to protect him! I thought to myself as I stared down at his eyes that were squeezed shut as he continued to cry.

We were all lost in the wonderful mont when all of a sudden, we heard a loud sound and sudden footsteps.

"They are still here?" Ivana asked as she turned to stare at the door.

"Okay we need to leave now!" Ada said and she reached for my baby while Ivana and Heather helped to pull out of the water, so we could make a run for it.
