DAHLIA POV

There was a certain stillness in the air, the kind that cos right before total destruction engulfs everything. The silence instead of bring comfort brought nothing but tension, it felt like the whole mountain was holding its breath and I could tell that it wasn’t just that was feeling it. The attacks had stopped for a few minutes which could only an one thing only.

They were here!

The giant oak doors suddenly slamd open. A few scared whimpers went around but one look from was enough to shut them all up. I turned around and peeked behind the huge statue of Naktus head where we were all hiding. The perfect hiding spot and also just a place to seek divine intervention if the goddess was so kind to offer one to us.

From this position, I could get a perfect view of the whole place and I saw a man step in along with a couple others. I was right, they had underestimated us. The draumheimiers were few in numbers, from where I was hiding, I could at least count like fifty of them. But just because they were few in numbers doesn’t an they weren’t dangerous.

If anything the low numbers just made it worse because that ant that they were feeling a little too confident.

The draumheimiers did not require numbers to destroy an empire. Every single one of them posed a weapon that practiced in darkness while learning the art of warfare, Each of the warrior possessed more power than what their current numbers indicated because they were nothing but human manifestations of dark nightmares.

"They are not much, we can take on them!" One of the won said holding on her spear tightly, "The gods must be on our side!"

"Yeah, I wouldn’t be saying that so soon!" I mumbled under my breath as I heaved out a quiet sigh.

The power of a single draumheimiers matched ten common soldiers according to the stories and now we found ourselves with fifty warriors led by a single man whose nostrils was flaring as if he was trying to sniff us all out.

I licked my lips as I heaved another breath. I turned to look at the won, "You are all clear on the plan?" I asked a few nods went around the won.

Nodding my head I stood up suddenly and the man’s eyes snapped up to mine. He smiled, showing all his teeth that looked sharp from where I stood and it took all I had in not to grimace, looks like he filed it that way.

"Princessssssss!" He hissed at , his voice hoarse and giving that eerie feeling that sent chills down my spine.

I smiled sweetly at him, "And here I was thinking the draumheimiers lived under a rock, I didn’t know I was famous!"

The man smiled slowly as he showed his teeth, "You know this isn’t what I expected. Last I heard you were deaf and dumb." He said his accent thickening with each words he spoke and I could glared at him in response, "You see I heard all you do is sit in court and just keep mute, I just didn’t expect you to have quite a mouth on you princess!"

"Oh well, since you know I do have a voice on my own how about I ask you this politely..." I said stepping forward, "What do you want?"

The man shrugged, "I heard about the wonderful history this place and the treasure it had within!" He said before he smiled again showing those shark teeth like his, "I’m here for what’s mine!"

"The treasure of the goddess Naktus doesn’t belong to you!" One of the won yelled suddenly standing up, revealing herself.

I closed my eyes, a disappointed sigh escaping as I stared back at the woman who had spoken. We had one plan, just one plan and she had to ruin it.

The man’s gaze snapped to the woman and this ti he smirked like a predator that had just found out it’s prey’s hideout.

"So that’s where you are hiding." He murmured more to himself than to , "I will tell you one thing, you all co out of whatever hole you are hiding and then maybe I’ll go easy on you, though I am not making any promises."

Smirking, I raised my face to look at him. "That’s fair, but let tell you this instead." I said with a smile on my face, "How about you crawl back into whatever hole you ca from and that way, you get to leave with your head still attached to your shoulders."

The minute I spoke that word, a loud laughter went round the n. Just like I had expected of them, they had underestimated us and it doesn’t matter because that was just what I wanted them to do.

The man turned to look at his n, "Did you all hear what this bitch has to say to ?"

Alright, that was it! I thought to myself as I signaled for a woman to pass her bow and arrow. I nocked it and allowed the arrow to fly. Before the n could call out a warning, the arrow hit the man square on his shoulder causing him to stop laughing.

The man paused and then ever so slowly, he reached for the arrow and yanked it out, he then turned to look at with a crazed look on his face but all I did was shrug at him.

"You should know better than to turn your back on a woman or call her a bitch!" I waved at him.

"You are going to die for that one, cunyak!" He said pointing the arrow at !

Cunyak! That ans cunt!

I smirked at him, "After I rip out your head shrak tat!" Which ans shark teeth!

I could see the surprise on their faces, I could tell that they didn’t expect that I would know their language. They didn’t expect , a sheltered princess to know the language if the draumheimiers.

"On !" I called and all the won rose up, holding their arrows in place.

They all looked surprised to see hundreds on won with ard weapons and a bow and arrow.

"On my mark!" I said raising my hand in the air in command, "Very stupid of you to co here without shields, which proved the point that I’ve been saying over the years. n always underestimate won, fire!" I ordered.

Arrows flew down at our targets like dark storms of vengeance.

The sound of sharp whistles of the arrows fell across the n with deadly and precise accuracy. Scream filled the air as the arrows pierced them and they fell down to the ground. Bowstrings produced a noise that snapped all around like war drums, rhythmic and ruthless!

The stunned expression on their faces gave great pleasure and I watched as so of the n ran away seeking shelter from sowhere. It was clear that they had not expected resistance. The draumheimiers had not expected resistance from us and it was working out well in our favor.

I watched as the n ran forward seeking shelter from our arrows but we were relentless in our attacks. I called out another command and the won continued to fire until I was sure that we had gotten a good majority of them.

I lifted my arms to halt the attacks and the won obeyed instantly and I stared down at the n. The leader appeared smarter than he was because he was the only one still standing along with three other n. But he was still a coward because I had watched him hide behind his soldiers too scared to face his own death.

"Now that we’ve gotten that away and established that all you will et here is nothing but your death, how about you turn around and leave!" One of the won warriors snarled down at him.

The man glared at us with unmistakable rage in his gaze, his chest puffing with anger and perhaps the bitterness of sha. Blood trickled down the side of his head, whether from the cut of an arrow or the spatter off a fallen warrior of his. But his pride I think was what was hurt the most.

"You_" He breathed out as he pointed a finger at us, "You think you’ve won?"

"Haven’t we?" The woman responded and a grin stretched across the man’s face.

"Bring her in!" He suddenly yelled and the doors slamd open imdiately and more warriors entered.

Their footsteps slamd across the floors and they dragged in a small figure who was tied at the wrist and was being yanked forward with nothing but a rope. Dread filled my stomach as I realized that it wasn’t them who had underestimated us, it was us who had underestimated them.

"Now, are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way?" He asked as he brought out his sowrd and placed it on the keeper’s neck.
