Chapter 94: Too Lucky.

As he sat on his new bed, he laughed to himself about how power was changing him. This thought made him chuckle and say, "If I let this continue, I might turn into that little cocky shit that people call Slav."

"Speaking of Slav, I wonder how he is doing now. He must be doing well since he has such a rich and powerful father."

Then he curled his lips in disdain and said, "Lucky bastard. He was born lucky to a rich family. He was also lucky to be born with incredible talent, and he even awakened Divine tacs."

"He didn’t just awaken one Divine tac, though. He awakened two Divine tacs in a row. Then he awakened a literal tac of the Luck Pathway. How lucky is that?"

"As if those weren’t good enough, he was lucky that he left the initiation program and didn’t participate in the competition, or I would have humiliated him. He is lucky that I don’t have space within Fenrir, or I would have taken his Danger Sense tac. He is just too lucky."

After complaining so more about how lucky Slav was, he thought to himself, "Speaking of the Danger Sense tac, why didn’t he use it as his Core tac, though? After all, it is a Divine tac. It has to be better than so common tac."

"Does it have anything to do with the Luck Pathway being cut off. I have never even heard of any Branch tacs in that pathway being available."

He has asked around during the ten months since he advanced to rank 2, so he knows that the Danger Sense tac belongs to the Luck Pathway. That information was very difficult to acquire because very few people still rember that such a path existed.

He learned that there used to be many pathways in existence, but a lot of them disappeared because of a great war that occurred a long ti ago. The Luck Pathway and the Dual Cultivation Pathway are examples of the pathways that were lost.

No one that he asked was sure of the reason for the Great War, but many of them believed that the war was fought for control of the world because only five sects remained after the war, and each of the five sects had carved up the world for themselves.

If the disappearance of the Luck Pathway is why Slav didn’t choose to use the Luck Pathway, he can guess that Slav made his decision because Branch tacs of the oarhwy will be difficult to acquire and because he won’t be able to acquire status in this pathway.

But if the great war itself is why Slav decided not to embark on the Luck Pathway, then the first thing that cos to his mind is that there might be people who hate the Luck Pathway who would want to kill Slav imdiately they find out that there is a new cultivator of the Luck Pathway.

After all, there has to be a reason why the Great War was fought and why the entire Luck Pathway was eliminated. He doesn’t think that reason can be anything good for new cultivators of the Luck Pathway.

"Or there could be nothing to worry about from the Great War. After all, it was a long ti ago. The Luck Pathway has nearly been forgotten, and it is highly likely that everyone who fought that war has died."

"But what do I know? Can I know the young master of the Rein Family?"

"Besides, that son of a bitch is doing well. He has bought money and talent to do well in the Money Pathway."

"It is just a pity, though. It is a pity that he can’t use the Luck Pathway because, clearly, the Luck Pathway suits him. It is also a pity that I can’t use it."

Then he smiled and said, "Fortunately, I don’t need luck. I have ti on my hands."

After bemoaning the loss of the Luck Pathway, he shifted his attention to more important things. The most important thing is his advancent to rank 3.

As he thought of this, he began listing out the things he needed to advance in his mind and on his fingers. He raised one finger and said, "I need level 3 Dao Heart."

He raised a second finger and said, "I need a total energy manipulation skill of 200%. That is, I need an extra 100% overload on top of the normal energy saturation rate."

He raised a third finger and said, "I need my cultivation to be at the peak of rank 2."

Then he raised a fourth finger and said, "I need to advance my Core tac to rank 3. This is very important."

Next, he raised the fifth finger on his hand and said, "Finally, I need the substrate for my Core tac. Since I’m choosing to go the route of the Forging Pathway, I need to forge that substrate myself."

After counting his five fingers, he began ntally ticking off the requirents that he had t and physically counting down with his fingers, which requirents he didn’t need to spend ti on.

As one finger was dropped, he said, "I already have a level 3 Dao Heart. My energy manipulation skill has also crossed 200%. Finally, my cultivation has long since reached the peak of rank 2."

By the ti he was done with this, three of his fingers had been dropped. This left two more requirents and the two fingers that represented them still standing.

This made him say, "So I need to advance my Core tac to rank 3, and I need to forge the substrate."

"The first one is easy to fulfill. I just need to buy a rank 3 cultivator. Preferably of the Forging Pathway. It will just be expensive."

"As for the second one, I will need to do it myself. It will be more difficult, and it will take ti to complete. I also need a good material to use for the substrate. That will be expensive too."
