Chapter 278: One Battlefield.
He was thinking about how grateful he was that he didn’t have to rape her and chuckling to himself about it as he left her. The train that brought him here is still around, and it is a short distance away, so he entered it.
The train left nearly an hour later. During the whole ti he was waiting for it to leave, Alia was also waiting outside the train.
She was keeping an eye on the whole ti. So it was clear to him that she was waiting to see what he would do and wanted to be sure that he would leave her battlefield.
The thought amused him a lot. He laughed and thought about her behavior because of him for a while. He also thought back to his short eting with Lady Red.
These things made him say to himself, "Power is good, but great power is even better. Power determines freedom, and nothing beats freedom."
"Without enough power, I will be toyed with by those more powerful than I am. But with enough power, I will be able to toy with others, and they will have no choice but to bear it."
Then he sighed and said, "Truly, nothing beats power and freedom. One day, I hope to stand at the very top of this world, unbound by rules and free to do whatever I want. I wonder what that experience would feel like."
Then he clenched his fist and said, "I can’t wait."
The train left the small world, so he beca free to go anywhere he wanted to. Where he wanted to go next was the Heavenly Battlefield. This is because the Heavenly Battlefield is where he can get grade 5 rit points and the place to et divine beings.
He needs the grade 4 rit points to purchase Level 5 Dao Status and shore up his power in preparation to fight Lady Red. He needs to be able to fight her if he wants to survive eting her when he trades Greg with her for so World Heart Fragnt.
There is also the fact that if he wants to be able to use her rank 5 Core tac to advance to rank 5, he must be able to kill her. So he has to shore up his strength for that eventuality.
As for why he wants to et divine beings, it is because he found out from Alia that Divine Beings can help him advance as long as he can do sothing helpful for them.
Of course, Alia didn’t tell him this herself. He heard it from her thoughts. It is also how he confird that World Heart Fragnts can be harvested from the heart of worlds, which is how divine beings get all of their supply of World Heart Fragnts.
All of these reasons make it so that it is very important for him to go to the Heavenly Battlefield. So he took out his sect token and used it to drop the grade 3 Earthly Battlefield mission. Then he picked the grade 5 Heavenly Battlefield mission.
After he did this, he asked himself, "Should I fly up myself or take transportation?"
"Flying will be cheap, but it will take a lot of effort and will be boring. So let’s take an airship then. It will also give
the opportunity to et my fellow travelers."
With his mind made up, he imdiately checked his token for information about the nearest transportation to the Heavenly Battlefield. Unfortunately for him, there was no available transportation.
Since he had a deadline to report for the Heavenly Battlefield, the absence of transportation ant that he would have to fly up himself. He didn’t like this, but he had no choice in the matter.
In order to encourage himself, he said, "The good news is that I will finally be able to et every sect in the Blessed Heaven World. So that’s sothing to look forward to."
This is indeed sothing to look forward to because he has always been curious about the other four sects. So his sour mood, because of the lack of transportation, was improved a little bit with anticipation. Then he took to the air and went straight up.
On the way to his destination, he thought about his upcoming mission. Unlike the first ti he went to the Earthly Battlefield, he is not clueless about where he is going and what to do there. This is because he had used the mory Read tac to scour the minds of the two rank 4 Mind Hunters that he killed six days ago.
He dug out information about how to advance to rank 5 from the minds of both of them. Then he searched for information about the Heavenly Battlefield and the four sects.
So he knows that at any single ti, there is usually only one battlefield in the heavens. He also knows that this is because small worlds are rare and difficult to find.
The rarity of small worlds makes it so that sotis, there is nothing to fight for in the heavens. And when there is a small world to fight for, all five sects co together to fight for control of the small world.
The fight is not an all-out war between the five sects, though. Only the rank 5 and rank 4 cultivators of the five sects participate in the battle.
The divine beings don’t participate in the battle directly. They are mostly there to make sure that the rules are followed and no one cheats.
It is after the control of the small world is determined that the small world descends to the world below. But even though small worlds are rare, the fact that it is difficult for an Earthly Battlefield to be closed makes the number of Earthly Battlefields increase over ti, while the number of Heavenly Battlefields remains constant.
He knows all of these, including how the control of small worlds is fought and determined. As for information about the five sects, what he knows is limited to the number of pathways that they control.
