Chapter 242: Show So Decorum
The following day, long before school was over, Shawn was already seated in the head teacher’s office.
As the president of one of the top companies in Baltimore, he didn’t appear to be in a hurry as he waited patiently for the children to finish their classes.
The head teacher suggested several tis that they could make an exception and release the children before the normal closing ti, but he insisted on waiting.
Not only did he want to wait for the children, but he was also afraid that if Kathleen got to know that he whisked them away before the close of school, she might not give him another opportunity in the future.
So, he had to exercise one of the virtues he had co to possess the hard way after eting Kathleen again- patience.
At long last, he was inford that the children were ready and he was free to go with them.
As usual when Eleanor saw him, she flung herself into his waiting arms and she didn’t fail to plant her signature kiss on his cheeks.
Elvis on the other hand just mumbled a monosyllabic "Dad," as a greeting before taking his position by his side as they walked to the car park.
As soon as the driver spotted the group of three coming from the school, his mouth opened wide in surprise and he even forgot to open the door on ti.
Sohow, his boss did not snap at him for his laxity, but just called out his na this ti.
"Carl Winston!"
However, the person with the impatient expression, was the mini version of his boss who stared at him with dissatisfaction.
’How can such a little child possess such an aura? He even looks more cold than the boss himself.’
But wait, when did the boss have such grown up children? He had been with him for so long and had never heard anything about a mistress or the Madam being pregnant...
Did the madam get pregnant before leaving the country? That’s the only possible explanation he could co up with as he galloped to the front and positioned himself behind the steering.
"Where to, boss?"
Turning to the children, Shawn asked. "Where do you want to go first?"
"I want to eat sothing delicious, dad. I was so excited about seeing you again that I hardly ate my lunch," Eleanor said.
"Really?" Shawn asked, an amused smile playing around his lips.
"To the penthouse, then," he ordered and returned his attention to his delightful daughter.
"Yes daddy. I miss you every minute of the day."
"Eleanor Wyatt! Can you get a grip on yourself? Why would you sell yourself so cheaply? Show so decorum at least, as a lady," Elvis scolded.
"I wasn’t talking to you," she retorted.
"Tsk! For how long have you known him, that you are suddenly missing him every minute of the day?"
Eleanor hated it when her brother would always expose her act just because he was familiar with all her ways. ’It was so boring having such a brother. Couldn’t he just humor
for once?’ She lanted.
Pouting her little mouth, she faced her killjoy brother. "Mind your business. We can’t all be cold faced like you. Initially, we all thought you took after dad, but we might have thought wrong."
She ran her soft paws across her father’s handso face which was presently covered in a doting smile. "Can’t you be a little more like dad, who is always nice and smiling."
Carl was unable to suppress the laughter from bursting out of his mouth when he heard that his boss was always nice and smiling. He refused to look in the rearview mirror as he was afraid to see the look on his boss’s face.
He quickly returned his face to normal as if he wasn’t the one that just laughed, but inwardly he was about to explode.
But contrary to his fears, Shawn at that mont was grinning from ear to ear, quite pleased with his adorable daughter.
As for his son, he didn’t know where to place him in his heart at the mont.
To so extent, he felt his behavior and manner of speaking was familiar.
"It is only weak n that smile when there is nothing to smile about. Strong n are serious minded and do not take nonsense," Elvis spat out.
Carl: ’Holy shit!’
Shawn: "...."
’Does he see
as a weak man because of the way I’ve been conceding to Kathleen’s every demand?’ Have I deaned myself so low that even my own son thinks I am not a man?’
’Well, that’s his business, as long as I get my love back, I don’t mind being looked down on.’
"Humph!" snorted Eleanor, completely pissed by her brother. "You are barely six years old, and just a few seconds older than , yet you talk about being a man every ti."
Elvis’s lips curled in a smirk. "Five minutes, twenty eight seconds, to be precise. That’s what grandma said. All the sa, I am still older than you," Elvis stated smugly.
"Girls like you are easily deceived by n like him. Don’t be deceived, little sister. I bet he has so many tricks up his sleeves," Elvis sneered and turned away.
What’s the use of bickering with her? She will never learn.
The car suddenly swerved to the right, throwing the whole family against one another.
’This child will be the very death of ,’ Carl groaned. His tongue is even sharper than the boss’s.’
’This is the first ti I’m driving him and I can hardly concentrate on the road.’
He suddenly felt a cold chill on his back. He summoned courage to throw a quick glance in the rear view mirror and two pairs of sapphire blue eyes were glaring at him. One larger and cold, the other smaller but equally cold.
"I’m sorry, Boss," Carl quickly apologized.
"Be careful," Shawn uttered, his hands clenched by his side as he tried to suppress the anger from showing in his voice.
