Chapter 214: Kiss The Alliance Goodbye

It was late in the night before Shawn could pull himself together.

He dragged his soulless body up, grabbed a few of his stuff and practically stumbled out of the office where he saw an equally fagged out Johnson standing weakly by the door.

"Boss," he stood straight as soon as he saw Shawn erge from the office.

As his boss was holed up in his office, it wasn’t easy for Johnson either. He had been keeping watch outside the office door the entire day. He dared not go for lunch for fear that his boss might look for him and not find him, so he had to endure until now.

"Why are you still here?" Shawn asked, his voice lacking its usual montum.

"I couldn’t leave without final instructions from you, boss," he replied obediently.

"You can go back now," Shawn ordered and stepped into his exclusive elevator.

"I will send you ho first, boss then I will leave from there," Johnson said as he joined him in the elevator.

Shawn did not say anything which Johnson interpreted as an approval to do as he had said.

This ti around, they didn’t go to Hudson Manor, but the apartnt at Hillside Lot.

It was their love nest that belonged to only Kathleen and him.

After Kathleen’s disappearance, he had not stepped foot there untill five months ago after his failed encounter with Kathleen when she returned for the first ti.

Johnson shook his head when he watched his boss walk with drooping shoulders into the apartnt just as he had done several months back.

"Do you need

to get you anything?"

"Just go back," he uttered without stopping in his strides.

As much as he hated having anything to do with that old geezer, Johnson had no choice but to send a call across to Butler Wallace to send sothing for the boss.

"Where is he?" Wallace asked from the other end.

He knew Johnson would only ask him to do sothing of that sort when the young master’s mood was off.

"At the hillside lot. And please hurry up as I can only leave after you arrive."

"I’ll be there soon," Mr Wallace responded. This ti around, they didn’t hit on each other like they would usually do.

anwhile at Hudson manor, Mrs Joanne shifted her gaze slightly from the fashion magazine she was reading towards her ringing phone and a deep scowl appeared on her face at the caller ID being made displayed on the phone screen.

She returned her attention back to the magazine in her hand, completely ignoring the call.

After the phone rang and stopped for two consecutive tis, she finally picked on the third ring.

"Hello dear," she answered in a cheerful voice that was a far cry from the expression on her face.

"Hello Aunt," the other person said. "I heard you are back from your trip."

"Yes, dear. I ca back a few days ago," she answered still trying to keep her tone warm.

"That’s great, Aunt." One could feel the excitent in the other person’s voice as she spoke. "I have missed you so much. Since you left, I’ve been through so much and I don’t know what to do anymore. But now that you are back, I know everything will be alright."

"Hmmm," Joanne gave a perfunctory response after the other person was done with her speech.

After waiting and she didn’t hear the expected words of comfort from Mrs Joanne, the initial excitent wore off from the other person’s voice as she said, "I wanted to co and see you, Aunt."

Joanne’s lips curled up in a disdainful sneer as soon as the other party said that.

"I don’t think it can be anyti soon dear. I have so much to attend to, you know I just ca back," Joanne sweetly declined the eting.

"I understand aunt, when can it be convenient for you to see ? I don’t mind coming over."

"Just wait for my call. I will send for you when I’m less busy, OK?"

"Alright, Aunt, I will wait for you then," the person on the other end said a bit depressingly.

"That’s fine my dear. I have to go now," Joanne said and hung up the call before the other party could say sothing more.

As soon as she ended the call, she picked a paper towel and wiped her hands as if the phone had been infected.

"Tsk!" she spat out. You must be the biggest fool to ever imagine that I would still consider you as a candidate for my outstanding son."

"Soone has appeared on the scene who is more suitable than you and can do much more than you can ever do, my dear Linda. So you can as well kiss the alliance goodbye."

Nobody will bla

for wanting the best for my son, afterall, that’s what God created mothers for.

Besides, I paved and cleared the way for you for so many years but you couldn’t complete the simple task of winning my son’s heart.

"Wallace," she called, but didn’t get any response.

After a few seconds, one of the servants who had heard her call, ca running into the living room and reported that Mr Wallace stepped out briefly.

"So late in the night? Did he say where he was going?"

"He only said sothing about eting up with the Young Master," the servant replied.

Her delicate brow arched in a slight frown.

"Why would that boy send for him? And why has he refused to co ho? It’s so late and he is stil buried in docunts. Instead of planning on settling down and giving

a grandchild, he is still obsessed with that goldgigger."

"Anyways, his days of fooling around are over as this ti around, I will ensure he settles down with Director Wyatt’s daughter whether he likes it or not."

With a wave of the hand, she dismissed the servant who was still waiting for further instructions from her.
