----Going back to Daniel-----
When I woke up in the morning, I was shocked to see my phone flooded with missed calls. My heart raced, and I jumped out of bed, fearing that sothing terrible had happened to Katherine because she had called so many tis while I was asleep.
I imdiately called her back to make sure she was okay. She answered right away. "How are you? Is everything alright? Where are you now?" I asked, my voice trembling with worry.
I heard a soft laugh from Katherine. "You worry too much! I'm fine. Do you miss already?" she teased.
Frustrated, I yelled, "You're the one who called a million tis while I was sleeping!"
She then spoke a single word that left silent: "Thanks." Despite being just one word, I could feel the depth of her gratitude even through the phone.
It turned out she knew about what I had done to the person lurking around her house. She also understood why I hadn't told her, knowing that I was only thinking of her safety. She just wanted to say thank you.
I guess I'm just really worried because I feel the weight of everything she's been through. She is still being watched by Senator Julius' n, who are our mutual enemies.
Suddenly, the word "Arcana" popped into my mind. Katherine had ntioned that word to before and called an Arcana when we first t. I asked her about it during our call, and she said it would be better if we t later so she could explain it more clearly.
Since I had to go to work, I told her we should et in the evening, and I would co to her house to ensure her safety and ease my worries. Katherine agreed and said she would prepare so food while waiting for .
I gathered my things and got ready to head to the office. "Ugh, just a few more days until payday. I need to stretch what little money I have left to survive until then," I sighed heavily, staring at the remaining cash in my wallet. I have this extraordinary ability, but I'm still broke. I really don't want to use my powers for personal gain.
After getting ready, I walked to the nearby bus station. With my limited funds, taking the bus and then walking a few minutes to the office was the most economical option.
When the bus arrived, I quickly got on and took a seat by the window. Since the ride would take a while, I decided to pass the ti by reading and scrolling through social dia.
Reading through the various reactions and opinions on the internet about the current events was both amusing and frustrating. Of course, I was most interested in the news about The Fool, who is none other than myself. I hoped that people were starting to recognize my cause and that the wrongdoers, especially the corrupt officials in our governnt, were beginning to feel fear.
"The Fool, our mayor is embezzling all the town funds and refuses to help our community. Please help us."
"The Fool, our neighbor is too loud with their karaoke even late at night."
"The Fool, my partner cheated on and left for soone rich with a car."
Grrr. I didn't know whether to be pleased or more annoyed by such comnts. What do they think I am? A superhero who will fulfill any of their requests? Ugh.
But at least they know I exist and—
Before I could finish reading, I heard a loud scream inside the bus. "Ahhhh! help !" It was a woman's scream, piercing through the bus.
