The mont Sophia took a hesitant step back, her heart pounded in her chest as she watched the door swing shut, sealing off the last trace of Arthur as he disappeared beyond it.

Only then did she allow herself to glance down at her trembling hand. Her fingers curled tightly around a cold, rectangular object. Her breath hitched. It was Arthur’s phone.

Angel had warned her—warned her that Arthur would do everything in his power to isolate them, to cut off any chance of reaching the outside world.

That’s why Angel had insisted on creating a distraction, sothing subtle enough to divert Arthur’s suspicion, giving Sophia the perfect opportunity to secure the phone before he realized what had happened. And now, it was in her possession.

A sharp wave of urgency crashed over her. There was no ti to hesitate. She needed to act fast. The only option left was to find soone—anyone—who could get them out of this nightmare before it was too late.

Tryson.

Angel had sohow managed to get his number, and now, with shaky fingers, Sophia swiftly dialed it, her pulse hamring as she pressed the phone to her ear.

Each ring sent a fresh wave of panic coursing through her veins. What if the call didn’t go through? What if Arthur had already blocked all outgoing contacts?

Then, suddenly, the ringing stopped. Soone had picked up. But the deep, unfamiliar voice that resonated through the speaker was not Tryson’s.

"Please... who is this?" The voice was low, rough, almost breathless, sending an uneasy shiver down her spine.

Sophia swallowed hard, forcing herself to push past the fear tightening in her throat. It didn’t matter who was on the other end. She had to take the chance.

"Hmm... Angel told that Tryson could help us escape," she whispered, her voice urgent, desperate. "Arthur—he’s planning to force to abort the baby. Please, we need your help. You have to get us out of here. Now."

Her grip on the phone tightened as she braced herself for the response, her entire world hanging in the balance.

The re thought that soone—anyone—knew about their situation was more comforting than anything else. For the first ti in what felt like forever, hope flickered in Sophia’s chest like a fragile fla.

"Did you say that Arthur is taking you sowhere?" the voice on the other end repeated, the tension in his tone unmistakable.

Sophia swallowed hard, nodding instinctively even though he couldn’t see her.

"Yes," she whispered, gripping the phone tighter. "Listen, I need your help. I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up. I have to protect my child—I can’t let Arthur—" Her voice cracked as the words tumbled out in a frantic rush.

"Listen carefully," the man interrupted, his tone firm yet urgent. "Is this the location where you’ll be keeping the phone?"

"Yes, why?" she asked, her pulse racing.

"I’m Jude. Tryson’s friend. We’ve been searching for you and Angel since last night," he revealed. "I need you to hold onto that phone, no matter what. That device is our only way to track you down. Trust —when we find you, it’ll be because of that phone."

Sophia exhaled sharply, her grip tightening around the device as she processed his words. She didn’t care who he was or why he was helping them. All that mattered was that soone was finally coming to save them.

For now, all she could do was pray that Arthur was too preoccupied to notice what she had done.

And that by the ti he did, it would be too late.

Angel had warned her—if Arthur showed up like they predicted, she would create a distraction, buying Sophia just enough ti to make the call. And by so miracle, everything was unfolding exactly as they had anticipated.

Arthur was out there sowhere, but there was no way he’d leave without seeing Angel first. That much was certain. And if, by so chance, things didn’t go according to plan, Angel was ready to do whatever it took to draw attention and give them another chance.

Right now, Sophia’s main focus was ensuring the phone remained with her until the mont she had to leave the room. She couldn’t afford to lose it—not when it was their only lifeline.

"Listen, Jude," she whispered urgently, her fingers gripping the device like it was the only thing tethering her to hope. "I need you to start tracking my location right now. There’s no ti to waste. Angel is in danger too, and Arthur... we don’t know what he’s planning."

"Just stay calm," Jude assured her, his voice steady, reassuring. "I swear to you, whatever Arthur has in mind—it won’t happen. We’re going to stop this. Just trust ."

Sophia let out a shaky breath, nodding to herself even though he couldn’t see her. She had no choice but to believe in his words, to cling to the promise that help was truly on the way.

"Okay then," she finally murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "I’ll do exactly as you said."

With that, she ended the call. But the mont the screen went dark, an icy wave of anxiety washed over her.

The real battle was just beginning.

The anxiety that crept through her veins was overwhelming, but she forced herself to focus on the one thing that mattered—her ultimate goal. She couldn’t afford to let fear consu her now.

Tightening her grip on the phone, she held it close, as if it were her only lifeline. She had to be careful—Arthur’s n couldn’t suspect she had a device. If they did, everything would fall apart.

Just as she had feared, the mont she anticipated arrived. The door creaked open.

Her breath hitched, and her body tensed as she slowly turned her head, her heart pounding in her chest.

Soone was standing there.

She couldn’t help but gulp on her saliva as she stared at the person who stood in front of her, and indistinctly, she gripped on the device to hide it.
