Chapter 32: A CHANGE OF HEART
Her warm hand pushed past his briefs, and grabbed his hardness. He hissed between his teeth, pleasure engulfing him. But at the back of his mind was a nagging thought.
Bright red hair, pale skin, purple patches. He wanted this release. No, needed it if he was to function normally, going forward. However, it ca at a cost. The question in his head was if the price he’d pay was worth it.
Reign tried to pull it out, but his hand covered hers. Gently, he moved it away.
"What is it?" Her brow snapped together in confusion.
"I can’t," he replied, zipping his pants.
Her nose blared as she scoffed at him. "You’re joking right? Please tell
you didn’t call
all the way here just to tell
you can’t," she mimicked the last part in his voice, her head swinging from side to side.
"Look, I know I’ve inconvenienced you. Made you leave your house for no reason. Truth is, I really wanted to do this, but I just can’t."
"Why?" She pressed with bile dripping from her tongue. "Because of the new wife? What? She gives you better sex than I did? Is that it?"
He kissed his teeth. "Don’t be ridiculous. This has nothing to do with Fay."
’Yeah, because it has everything to do with Fay,’ a mocking voice sprung in his head.
If he were alone, he’d have tussled against it. Rebuked it for even daring to oppose his convictions. However, now was not the ti to engage. Not when Reign was breathing down his face, with anger and an unhealthy dose of fury.
’That you provoked. If you hadn’t called her, none of this would have happened,’ another voice joined in the great wash down of Ace Atticus.
"I don’t understand you, Ace. Why did you call
out if you were just going to hang
out to dry? No man treats
this way and goes scot free, but you keep on doing it. What exactly are you trying to prove?"
"Let’s not make a mountain out of a molehill, Reign. I’m just distracted. I’m no good in this state."
Her hand reached out to his chest, as her features softened. "Let
be the judge of that. You know I can help you focus. You don’t even need to do a thing. Just relax, and let
take care of you." She climbed his laps again, and began straddling him.
"Reign, please. I’m a married man." He pulled out the card, knowing fully well it held no weight when it ca to her.
"I don’t care. You were mine first before she stole you from . Whatever arrangent you two have, I’m certain it’s only temporal. You and I were ant to be together, can’t you see?" She held his chin, and raised it so he was looking directly at her. "Just kiss , and everything can return to normal."
But that was exactly the problem. A kiss was only going to remind him of Fay. He had kissed a lot of won throughout his lifeti. From different races, countries, and continents. Fay was the only woman that made him want to spend two hours just frenching.
Her lips were like nothing he had ever tasted before. Not only was its texture smoothe, it also had a different flavor. Much like her scent so peculiar to her, her lips also had a unique taste.
His life was filled with pores, and as much as he hated to admit it, Fay was slowly slipping into it.
"Don’t tell
you’re thinking about her right now!" She snarled, and jumped to her feet.
"Reign." He stretched his hand out to grab her, but she easily sidestepped him.
"How long have you known her? You’ve known
for longer, yet she has you wrapped around her finger?" Her face scrunched in disbelief. She had never known Ace to second guess himself. He wasn’t the kind to start a thing and not see it to the end. If he was struggling this much just to kiss her, his wife must have a strong hold on him.
Disgust like never before swept through her, as that thought ford in her head. There was nothing special about the girl. She looked too dainty, and magical. Like one of those fairy-tale prudes. What could she possibly know how to do better than her?
"You’re spiraling in love. You need to calm down," he said.
"Spiraling? ? And don’t you dare call
love. Don’t you dare! You’re unbelievable, Ace! Is this how it’s going to be, henceforth? You chicken out because of that sauceless thing? You have a real woman in front of you, Ace. A real woman!" As she spoke, her tittie’s bounced in front of her, drawing his attention.
In truth, there were not many won hotter than the Reign King. She had absolutely everything. The height, the curves, big titties, a mouth made to squeeze a man to nirvana. Not to forget, that backside that made head turns. She was sex in flesh.
There was a but. Fay had sothing so different, yet very inviting. It wasn’t just the innocence. She was like an untouchable flower. In the right hand, she was bound to blossom.
"I need to leave," he said, rising to his feet. He questioned himself in his heart. What was he doing here, when the woman he plunged into his crazy world was fighting for her life? A condition which he totally believed was influenced by his own Aunt. Sure he was a ruthless business man who half of the ti, couldn’t give a fuck about anyone else but himself. But sothing has to give this ti.
"You’re not going anywhere." She stepped in front of him. Her eyes blazed, as it locked with his.
"I can’t explain it to you, because I know you’re crazy enough to run to the dia, but I really need to leave, Reign."
"I don’t care what it is. You’re going to answer my questions before you leave." She stamped a foot to show her seriousness.
He took a deep breath, and bobbed his head. "Fine. What’s your question."
"Why are you avoiding ? Why won’t you sleep with ? What hold does the new girl have on you? Is it sothing I didn’t do? Tell , and I’ll rectify my mistakes in a heartbeat. Anything at all. I cannot stand the fact she gets the whole of you daily, while I suffer with just the mories of you. It’s not fair to , Ace," her voice broke, as she took a step closer to him.
A knot ford in his chest. If he allowed himself to dig a little deeper, he’d admit he really did hurt her. She was a lot of things. A lot of bad things, but so was he. She didn’t deserve the way he easily discarded her. Even now, he was doing it again. Throwing crumbs at her. And because she desperately wanted to attach herself to him, she set aside her pride, and swallowed it all.
That was it. The answer he searched for all this while. She wasn’t the fearless Reign people spoke off when around him. She drastically changed when she fell for him, and that was the problem.
"I have to go," he insisted.
"To who? To her? Why? She’d be up waiting for you? Ready to rub your feet and ask if you need sothing to eat so she can prepare it for you? That’s what you want, right? A traditional wife who keeps shut, and fuck you when you’re horny!" She accused him with a wagging finger.
"Damn it Reign!" He raised his voice slightly, losing his calm for the first ti since he arrived at the house. "Why do you always have to project? You know, not everything you think in your head is true."
"But I’m right this ti. You know it. What, Ace? What are you so afraid to admit? Tell
one thing, is she better than
in bed?"
"Everything is not about sex!"
"But it was with !" She retorted in a higher tone. "You used my body everyti you wanted release. I let you, because we both found pleasure, and solace in each other. I’m such a fool. I should have known sooner or later, you’d get tired, and sort out the next rigid thing you can find." She threw her face to the side, too disgusted to look at him.
"Think whatever you want, Reign. I’d admit I shouldn’t have wasted your ti by calling you here, but that’s about it. If you’ll excuse , my wife needs ."
"Screw you and your wife, Ace!" She called behind him, as he walked away.
"Goodbye Reign," he said without looking back.
"Until you need to unwind right? In a week’s ti, you’re going to call
again, but I won’t co rushing to you. That’s a promise you can take to the bank!"
As he stepped out, into the cold breeze of the midnight, he muttered a question under his breath, "What have you just done, Ace?"
