The Gluttony Termite Queen was not only responsible for reproducing but also leading the entire colony. As for the Mutation of such an existence, it could lead to varying results such as increasing her leadership capabilities, her intelligence, or even her reproduction capabilities.
In the worst case, each of these aspects would change due to the mutation, creating a whole new species in the process. Fortunately, that was not the case as even the appearance of the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen was the sa as the ordinary version.
She had a dark brown body with a slimy, gleaming exoskeleton. Her head was large and round, with two compound eyes and two antennas protruding out of the top of her head. The abdon was large and distended as it was filled with reproductive organs and several eggs. Nonetheless, Zayn was quite surprised when he saw how big the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen was.
The remains of the Gluttony Termite Spirits hung down the tips of her mandibles as her head erged at the surface. This cleared up Zayn's theory, reaffirming that the Mutant Queen could devour Spirits.
Despite his interest in the existence and capabilities of the Mutant Queen, neither Zayn nor his Spirits hesitated as they got into action.
When the majority of the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen's body had erged upon the surface in hot pursuit of the intruders, the Mocalw Bear Spirit appeared behind her. It slashed its sharp claws at the transparent wings of the Queen, while the Herculean Human Spirit used his entire power to cut through the Queen's body with the huge Dao Saber.
The Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen was unable to block either attack as the Sparrow Spirits had distracted her early enough with fire needles which they had released to pierce her compound eyes.
While the Herculean's attack severed the Queen's body, the karambit knuckles of the Agile Human Spirit pierced into her sides, inflicting additional damage.
As for Zayn, his blades were fully coated in a golden mbrane as he slashed both blades at his target. The head of the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen flung through the air just a mont later while the headless body collapsed to the ground.
The Spirits looked over to Zayn, their expressions telling him that they were just as confused as he was.
"Yep, she doesn't have a Soulring..." He mumbled, understanding that the Queen had been far weaker than expected.
Neither Zayn nor the Spirits had expected their fight to end so quickly. The Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen had been easily enraged and blindly pursued the Sparrow Spirits without thinking about sending her army of a hundred thousand Gluttony Termites after the Spirits instead.
She died in a fit of rage and her Soul Wisp erged from the severed body of the Queen who had imbued enough terror in the minds of other teams to kill even a C-rank Adventurer in the process.
'Looks like my Spirit Manifestation technique is quite useful here!' Zayn thought while reaching out to the Soul Wisp.
He extracted the Soul of the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen and gathered her ownerless soul particles to manifest her Spirit.
Zayn understood that the combat prowess of the Termite Queen was nearly nonexistent and that her manifestation would prevent him from gaining a bunch of other Spirits that would have been more useful in a fight but none of that mattered right now.
He was in need of a supporter or a right hand capable of controlling the hundred thousand Gluttony Termites underground was what he needed at this very instant, and Zayn was pretty sure that the Spirit of the Termite Queen would be of great use in the future.
The Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen Spirit was completely manifested in no ti, and her white semi-transparent appearance was unveiled to him.
She had a white translucent body, indicating average talent, which was neither good nor bad but none of that mattered to Zayn.
"Can you still control your colony?" He asked without much hope. Zayn actually knew that it would be quite difficult for the Termite Queen to control her colony without being able to release the sa pheromones as before. There were also a few other things she didn't possess in her Spirit form, which ant that he shouldn't be too hopeful.
However, he was pleasantly surprised when the Termite Queen Spirit nodded her heavy head. She released so of her soul particles that scattered inside the termite mounds to regain control of the Gluttony Termites.
Her wings fluttered and she began to levitate in the air not long after. The Termite Queen Spirit made her way to her forr body and started to eat her lower body.
'Is she trying to replicate her reproduction organs and eggs in the Spirit form?' Zayn wondered, hoping that she could give birth to more Gluttony Termite Spirits whenever she wanted. Being able to do sothing like that and controlling the Spirits she birthed would be very interesting and an overpowered ability.
The chances of the Mutant Gluttony Termite Queen Spirit having such an overpowered ability were extrely slim but Zayn was still hoping for it.
He approached the remains of her body and collected her head as hard evidence of the mission's accomplishnt. He didn't want to miss out on the reward money just because his newest Spirit desired to eat her own corpse.
While Zayn was focused on storing the Termite Queen's head in the expanding pouch, sothing about his new Spirit changed.
Her lower body began to rumble and it seed like sothing was about to co out of her. Zayn's attention was imdiately attracted and he stared blankly at his new Spirit's butt. However, what he saw when the Termite Queen was done astonished him quite a bit.
A golden mass had been released by the Termite Queen Spirit. The golden mass levitated and it stayed at the exact sa spot until Zayn regained his senses.
"You guys can see that as well, right?" He asked to make sure that he was not delusional or daydreaming with his eyes wide open. The Spirits nodded their heads, indicating that it was different from a Soul Wisp.
Grasping the levitation golden mass, Zayn sensed sothing inside the golden mass that caused him to freeze in his tracks for a second.
'Huh?'
