In another corner of the city, amidst the tumult, dozens of cultivators stood frozen, disbelief etched across their faces.
They were the elite from various institutions, possessing formidable strength. Even the weakest among them was in the Qi Foundation realm. Yet, they found themselves incredulous at the scene unfolding before them.
Before their eyes stretched a horde of hundreds of soul beasts pouring relentlessly out of a crimson-hued portal.
Engaged in battle since the onset, they had valiantly fought, but the ceaseless ergence of soul beasts from the portal left them overwheld.
"What is this? If this continues, we'll all die," one voiced, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily upon them.
A collective silence fell, punctuated only by the ragged breaths of the cultivators, as they watched in despair while the relentless tide of soul beasts showed no sign of abating.
"This is a nightmare. I shouldn't have co here," another lanted, echoing the fear and despair gripping their group.
The sense of dread intensified among the cultivators as they grappled with the grim reality before them. Already besieged by the existing horde of soul beasts, the ergence of more from the portal only exacerbated their dire predicant.
But among them, a woman nad Lin Xian'er, dressed in a mix of ancient and modern cultivator attire with a sword, walked forward and stopped in front of the cultivators.
Everyone was sowhat surprised, especially seeing Lin Xian, a beautiful woman in her thirties, with long black hair and carrying a sword.
But the next mont, they were even more surprised when Lin Xian'er drew her sword and pointed it towards them.
"You cowards!" she bellowed, her gaze piercing through their ranks. "Many of you are n, yet you cower at the sight of a re horde of soul beasts? Are you truly n?" Her words dripped with disdain, challenging their very essence.
With those words, discontent swept across the cultivators present, clearly offended by Lin Xian'er words.
Yet, Lin Xian'er didn't stop there; her words were harsh, accompanied by her body emitting a faint aura that seed to spread throughout the area. "You are the people most needed to fight those soul beasts. Don't you think if not you, then who? The soul beasts are only concentrated here for now, so we must stop them here too! Enough lives have been lost here already!"
This ti, the discontent of everyone turned into silence, absorbing every word Lin Xian'er uttered.
"Don't you have a sense of responsibility as cultivators? What if your families are the ones left here to face the threat of soul beasts? Yet, you all act like cowards, giving in to despair just because there are more soul beasts? If you're afraid, stop calling yourselves n!" she shouted, her tone rcilessly directed at everyone.
The silence of everyone turned into guilt, most of them reflecting on their purpose for coming here and their responsibility as individuals gifted with power.
In their minds, what were they becoming strong for?
The woman's words seed to penetrate their minds, and as if unified, they all felt the urge to step forward. Surrender and despair seed to vanish from within them.
A muscular man with a dark complexion, his torso bared, bearing nurous wounds, stepped forward, wielding a massive sword. "I once had a daughter, but she fell victim to soul beasts. Now, my sole purpose is their annihilation!" His voice carried the weight of unyielding determination.
All eyes converged on him, his resolve sparking a fire within each onlooker.
Another warrior stepped forth, his voice echoing his resolve, "I, too, lost my family to soul beasts during the riots three years past. Now, I seek vengeance!"
His resolute words stoked the fiery resolve within the gathering.
"Count in!"
"I yearn to vanquish those soul beasts!"
"Let none escape our wrath!"
One by one, they stepped up, their despair transmuted into fervor, until a multitude once resigned were now afla with the desire to combat.
Lin Xian'er, witnessing this transformation, smiled. Her gift to kindle courage in hearts was invaluable, confirming her chosen path.
She raised her sword aloft, then directed it towards the throng of soul beasts looming ahead.
"Let us confront them!" Her declaration resounded with unshakable confidence.
"Yes!" A chorus of voices echoed, each brimming with determination.
They stood united, expressions hardened, prepared to engage in battle.
As they pressed forward, a resounding roar tore through the sky, prompting so to instinctively cast their gaze upward, where ominous dark clouds lood, punctuated by bolts of yellow lightning.
"That doesn't look like ordinary lightning," one comnted.
The thunder grew louder, the flashes more frequent, and the clouds denser.
More heads tilted skyward, squinting to discern the approaching spectacle, and as clarity dawned, gasps rippled through the crowd.
Three objects descended from the heavens!
"Look! What could that be?" soone exclaid, pointing upwards.
Now, all eyes were directed to the sky, showing interest and curiosity.
With each passing second, the expressions of everyone were filled with astonishnt as the three objects beca clearer — a trio of human figures descending from the heavens.
"Three figures? Are they friend or foe?" speculated a voice amidst the surprise.
While everyone was caught in surprise, Lin Xian'er furrowed her brows, looking towards the clouds as if she saw sothing winged flying.
Soon after, the trio touched down, stirring up a cloud of dust that veiled their arrival.
Eager curiosity drove many to hasten towards the landing site, yearning for answers.
As the dust settled, the trio erged unscathed, their deanor composed and healthy.
Approaching cautiously, the crowd bombarded them with inquiries.
"Who are you, and what brings you here?" demanded one, his voice firm.
One of the trio responded calmly, "Fear not, I am Yu from the Wuxia Sect, accompanied by my allies Jian and Yang. We co as allies."
The revelation quelled apprehension, eliciting nods of recognition and respect for the trio's affiliation with the esteed Wuxia Sect, renowned throughout the Han Empire.
"If you're here to aid us, then we stand together against the threat," declared another, gesturing towards the ominous portal teeming with soul beasts.
Yu's gaze followed the indication, his expression registering genuine surprise. "So many soul beasts pouring forth... I knew the situation was dire, but this exceeds all expectations," he admitted solemnly.
Jian and Yang echoed his sentint, their faces mirroring disbelief at the unfolding chaos.
In this mont, Lin Xian'er approached. "I noticed there were others flying in the air, are there more people with you?" she asked.
Yu directed his gaze towards Lin Xian'er, responding, "Oh, you noticed? Yes, there's a young man stronger than us flying in the air, and he's our ally."
Lin Xian'er seed intrigued, asking, "Stronger than us? Who is he?"
"He's the young master of the Long family, Long Tian," Yu responded.
Hearing this, everyone was even more surprised. A young master from the ancient Long family?
However, so were skeptical of Yu's words.
"Are you sure he's stronger than us?" soone asked doubtfully.
"Well, even though he's still in the Flowing Qi realm, his strength surpasses that. He might be on par with Nascent Soul cultivators, especially considering his powerful martial spirit," Jian responded.
"What? Hmm, I'm still doubtful."
"Hey, that's the young master of the Long family. I heard they possess a Mythical-level martial spirit, a dragon. So, it's no wonder if they're all very powerful," another chid in.
"Although I don't know this Long Tian, if he can fly, his strength must be extraordinary," another comnted.
While many were discussing, another loud thunderous roar echoed from the sky, and a dark figure enveloped in yellow lightning was seen descending from the clouds, flying with two black wings that looked nacing even from below.
Yu imdiately pointed to the sky, "Look, it's him," he exclaid.
Everyone turned their gaze to the sky, showing interest, curiosity, and admiration.
Especially Lin Xian'er, whose lips curved into a smile as she murmured to herself, "The young master of the Long family, huh? You've piqued my interest."
