In a cold mountain foothill, the atmosphere felt chilly despite the scorching daylight. On the ground, nurous soul beast corpses with stab wounds and slashes lay scattered.

Leading from the corpses was a figure of a man with short hair, dressed entirely in black and masked, wielding a sword enveloped in red aura.

The man removed his mask, revealing a youthful face with black eyes.

His visage was all too recognizable; he was Qin Chen, concealing his identity to evade pursuit by imperial forces.

Since he had escaped the deadly situation at the Wudang sect, many wanted posters of him were plastered all over.

Even now, in Gongzhou, which was far from Tianhai, there were still posters of him. His bounty was exceptionally high: 1 billion Yuan.

He had encountered countless bounty hunters attempting to capture him. And of course, they all failed.

At this mont, Shen Yulan erged from the jade, "Well done, Qin Chen. Your power has increased dramatically. You even managed to kill a three-star soul beast," she said.

Qin Chen smiled back, "It's also because of you, Lady Shen. If it weren't for your spirit and motivation, I might still be the impulsive fool I used to be. Now I understand the aning of suffering and loss. Thank you," he responded, his tone sincere.

Shen Yulan smiled in response. In this past week, Qin Chen had truly developed according to her guidance. He had even successfully awakened his Heartblade, though she was sowhat worried because it was red, signifying vengeance, war, anger, and murder.

Nevertheless, Qin Chen didn't exhibit ruthless or cold behavior, which made her breathe a sigh of relief.

"Now, you must absorb the abilities of this soul beast. Its abilities will undoubtedly be very useful to you," she said, her gaze fixed on the three-star soul beast's corpse, which was an authentic dragon, ten tis the size of an elephant.

Although it was an super rare dragon, it was still categorized as a baby, which was why its power was only three stars.

Qin Chen also directed his attention to the dragon's corpse. Just looking at the creature sparked an incredible rage within him. A dragon, representing the Long family. Especially Long Tian...

He vividly rembered what Long Tian had done to him.

"How do I absorb its abilities?" he asked, curiosity piqued.

"Wait, have you never absorbed a soul beast's abilities before?" Shen Yulan asked, raising one of her eyebrows.

"No, this is the first ti," Qin Chen replied.

"No wonder your martial spirit has had difficulty advancing. You should absorb soul beasts more often, Qin Chen. The thod is quite simple; just touch its body and concentrate," she explained.

Qin Chen nodded, imdiately understanding Shen Yulan's explanation.

With that, he approached the dragon's corpse. However, as his hand was about to touch the dragon's body, he suddenly felt a shocking sensation throughout his entire body.

Rumble!

The sky thundered, and the next mont, a massive black lightning bolt struck him.

Bang!

He imdiately collapsed to the ground, his body convulsing with unimaginable pain.

His eyes widened with agony. The lightning strike was so intense that he couldn't even scream, only emitting small groans filled with pain.

Shen Yulan, on the other hand, was shocked by the sudden turn of events. She imdiately checked Qin Chen's condition, but she felt nothing.

"Li Yan, co here!" she shouted.

With that, the sky thundered again, and lightning struck right beside Qin Chen, coinciding with Li Yan's appearance.

She furrowed her brow when she saw Qin Chen sprawled on the ground, his body charred.

"So, he died after fighting that dragon?" S

she asked, crossing her arms.

Shen Yulan imdiately clenched the air, causing Li Yan to fall to the ground and groan in pain, clutching her chest as if her heart was being crushed.

"Don't joke in serious situations. Check Qin Chen's condition now!" Shen Yulan said coldly.

Li Yan gritted his teeth. Often, Shen Yulan did this, she didn't even know how her heart was now. But she followed Shen Yulan's orders and started touching Qin Chen's body, checking his condition.

After a few monts, she furrowed her brow. "His cultivation base has been completely lost," she said earnestly.

---

anwhile, in another location...

Long Tian fell onto a mountain after traversing a long ti tunnel. He imdiately stood up and vomited.

He had been through that ti tunnel for more than half an hour; it felt like dizziness and nausea he had never experienced before.

After a few monts, he stood there, gasping for breath.

"I really don't want to go through that again," he cursed.

It was truly awful; even though he was a powerful cultivator, the nausea and dizziness were on a completely different level.

After standing still for a few monts to recover, he pressed forward and was awestruck by the breathtaking scenery that resembled paradise.

Towering trees, majestic distant mountains, a tranquil atmosphere, and lush grasslands surrounded him. The sky above displayed silhouettes of nine planets, each with unique shapes and colors.

Long Tian's admiration deepened as he sensed the Reiki, seemingly thousands of tis purer and higher in quality than on the blue planet.

"This is my chance!" he said.

With that, he sat cross-legged and focused; his body imdiately responded, swiftly absorbing the Reiki from the air.

Cultivating in this world felt far more delightful and peaceful. He could sense the flow of power coursing within him.

After approximately 5 minutes, Long Tian opened his eyes again, and a strong crimson aura erupted from his body, spraying into the air.

Long Tian stood tall again, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. He had just broken through to the 6th level of Flowing Qi. He was already on the verge, and he had perfected it in this world.

"Hehe, not bad at all," he smirked.

Then, his gaze refocused on his purpose for being here.

"I will hunt you down!" he declared, his voice dripping with cold nace.

With that, wings resembling those of a dragon sprouted from his back, and he took to the air imdiately, scanning the surroundings in search of the person responsible for opening the portal to this world.
