"Should I… help you find them?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Luke tilted his head in confusion.
"I'm talking about infiltrating them." Laufey smiled wryly.
"I'm not sure I'm following you here." Luke's expression darkened.
"Like I said—" Before Laufey could explain, Luke shouted, "Shut up!"
It wasn't that Luke didn't know what he ant. The idea was just so ridiculous that he didn't want to think about it. This was revenge. If Laufey proposed such a thing, he ended up making his best friend face sothing even worse than what he had to experience.
Laufey smiled. "You're too soft as always, Luke. Since you don't want to do it, I'm going to do it."
"Are you—" Luke tried to stop him, but Laufey simply shrugged.
"I have told you that I will be working for you, but I'm not going to follow every single one of your decisions. Just like what I have been doing the whole ti. I'm just doing things that will make this family prosper.
"I don't want so many children to starve like . I don't want them to shiver during the night, withstanding the cold so they can suffer for another day. I have experienced everything…
"Back then, every day was hell. I clutched my stomach just to ease my hunger. I rummaged through the trash to fill my belly before ending up throwing up.
"I don't want to experience it again and I don't want other kids to experience such a thing.
"That's why I will do it in my own way. I'll infiltrate the Supre Devil Organization no matter what kind of price I have to pay.
"It also ans I can't contact you easily since they'll be monitoring my every move.
"But I have a way to gain their trust, which might need your cooperation.
"I'm going to hell so that no one will have to experience a different type of hell. Just promise one thing. Once this is over, do your best to make as many children as possible smile.
"I have witnessed your journey. I'm sure that you are capable of achieving it. That's why this is what I've decided, my best and oldest friend, Luke Ardagan. There's no way for you to stop ." Laufey smiled.
"You…" Luke clenched his hands into fists. Just like how Laufey couldn't stop him from making a big decision, Luke couldn't force Laufey either.
It was because of this relationship that the Ardagan family could beco this big. It was the reason he didn't regret his decision in making Laufey his vassal.
But this price was too big. The burden would be so heavy that even he might not be able to carry it.
"Your habit…" Luke bit his lips.
"I know. I'm sure you already figured out my solution. There's only one thing I can do. For the next several years, I have to brainwash myself to hate the Ardagan family.
"Even if your child is born in the future, I will have to kill him." Laufey nodded in understanding.
Luke beca even more frustrated. There was no man kinder than Laufey in his life. And that was why he understood what kind of pain he would have to experience if he went through such pain.
He couldn't hold the nephew he loved so much but even had to kill him. He couldn't share the drink with his best friend anymore. There was basically no place that would accept him once he put this plan in motion.

Noel clenched his hands into fists after hearing such a story. He finally understood why Laufey chose to betray the Ardagan family.
How much anguish did he have to bear every day? It was such a bloody path that no one could walk. Even Laufey was on the verge of losing his mind.
Still, he persisted. He even maintained his sanity for so long against the demon when death could be considered a salvation for him.
This was the first ti Noel understood how much Laufey had sacrificed himself for him, for his father, and for his family.
He couldn't be described by anything else other than a hero. Yet his reputation forced people to call him a traitor that had to be executed in sight.
That kind of suffering couldn't help but cause tears to leak out of the corner of Noel's eyes.
Laufey's body shook after seeing his tears. He instinctively reached out to Noel's head.
"!!!" Noel was startled.
Both Noel and Laufey subconsciously knew that this was the first ti they had such an intimate relationship.
However, Laufey suddenly stopped and retracted his hand while gritting his teeth. His bloody hand was not sothing that shouldn't be put on his nephew's head. Laufey himself couldn't allow himself to do it.
But Noel didn't care. Even if there was a safety concern, Noel could simply stop everything that Laufey tried to do with his strength.
He simply grabbed Laufey's hand and put it on his cheek. The one in front of him was not Noel, who had beco the family head of the Ardagan family. Instead, he was just a little boy who admired his uncle.
Laufey's hand was shaking as there was still a trace of his own brainwashing. He was fighting internally. But this little gesture from Noel was bringing him back little by little.
There was no need for them to speak. Both of them subconsciously understood whatever they had in mind.

This is the nephew I have been trying to protect. This is the person my bloody hand is trying to kill, an action that I can't forgive myself for.
Unknowingly, Laufey ended up in tears as well. He couldn't maintain his dignified self as his uncle.
This might not be the end, but he sincerely wished that ti would stop, just even for a mont. He wanted to take a rest even for just a few minutes so that he could get to know more about his nephew, not as an enemy, but as his uncle.
