"We'll retreat!"
Alexander looked surprised because it was sooner than the original plan. Then again, they noticed another trump card being used inside the city, so Noel might have been expecting them, causing their plan to fail.
As a result, it would be better to retreat. Although he wasn't sure about Laufey and Josephine's condition, Josephine had a spatial ability, so she might still have escaped in one way or another.
Hence, the retreat would be just for them. They believed Josephine and Laufey had taken the best course of action.
Noel hurriedly struck the Supre Devil from above.

Their swords clashed as both of them unleashed a trendous amount of spiritual energy. The ground within a hundred ters ended up cracking.
"Where are you going? Do you think you can go to my ho and go back as you like?" Noel grinned.
"Tsk." The Supre Devil gritted his teeth. He overpowered Noel and waved his blade, releasing the sword wave that overwheld him earlier. "You're annoying!"
Noel also unleashed a similar attack, this ti freezing the sword wave. Unfortunately, his mastery was too low. Even though it managed to freeze his attack, it only affected the sword wave for a second before getting destroyed.
As a result, Noel had to stop it with his sword. Even so, this was enough. He got a massive improvent compared to his state before this fight.
As he expected, fighting soone with such a power gave a lot of insight. Although the knights were good, they were definitely lacking in comparison.
Still, Noel wouldn't consider the sparring session to be useless. In fact, the purpose of the sparring session would change. Just like in the first fight, his soldiers would use their own way of utilizing their spiritual energy.
He would take this as an inspiration to create his own king path. That was right.
At the sa ti, after knowing about this, he understood that he shouldn't really tell Anna the answer. After all, Anna should have the best form of spiritual energy that suited her the most.
At the sa ti, he believed it should be fine to fight her from ti to ti so that she would gain insight, just like him fighting the Supre Devil.
That was why he had to thank the Supre Devil for giving him this precious chance. He was the reason Noel could beco this strong so quickly.
Noel wasn't going to back down, even if the latter planned to get away. He approached the Supre Devil again, of course, with a smile on his face so as to annoy him.
The Supre Devil realized that at this rate, Noel would completely stop him for at least thirty minutes, which was the duration of the True Spirit Body.
He couldn't afford to stay here. Besides, he had another problem to deal with. At the very least, it didn't seem Noel had realized that he had known Laufey to be their traitor and Luke Ardagan was still alive.
As long as he got that information, he could approach him more carefully. Unfortunately, the cost to know this information was trendous.
"You're annoying!" The Supre Devil was completely furious. He released another burst of energy and gathered it in his sword. This ti, he had no choice but to unleash the most powerful attack he could currently muster to create a chance to escape.
Noel, on the other hand, looked excited. After all, this was an opportunity to see his way of utilizing spiritual energy.
The Supre Devil waved his sword at him.
"!!!" Noel widened his eyes as his body instinctively raised his sword. The strike this ti was so fast that he almost had no chance to react. If not for his honed instinct, he would have been in a more dire predicant.
After all, before he knew it, the sword strike had reached him.
"Kh." Noel gritted his teeth, using all the strength in his body to withstand this attack. The ice elent froze the attack while the rune on his body strengthened him. Even then, he still had a hard ti stopping this attack.
Even then, Noel persisted before he ultimately stopped this attack.
On the other hand, the Supre Devil spat a mouthful of blood. He exerted too much of his force, but it couldn't be helped. Noel had begun to pose a threat to him.
While enduring the pain, the Supre Devil retreated.
Seeing his lord returning, Alexander hurriedly chased after him.
Rui wanted to stop him, but Noel abruptly said out loud, "There's no need to chase them anymore."
"Will that be alright?" Rui asked while examining Noel's wound. The last attack seed to have reached him because there was an even bigger and deeper wound on his body.
"Yeah. Even though he's in that condition, he still has the power to defeat us." Noel let out a long sigh. "So, this is the king path…"
Rui tilted her head in confusion. She didn't know what Noel was talking about.
"Should we go back?" Rui asked. "It's better to treat your wound. And I believe you should suspend the sparring session for the ti being."
"No. I'm alright." Noel shook his head while using his Force Control to heal his body. "Although I look like this, I can still use my power to aid my healing process. Besides, it's best not to make the citizens worry."
Rui nodded in understanding. "In that case, do you need to do anything?"
Noel thought for a mont. "Check the city and ensure its safety. I will go back to the city after changing my clothes and closing my wound. It appears they attacked the city as well, so try to check every nook and corner to make sure there's no hidden threat."
"Understood."
Noel nodded to Rui as she disappeared into thin air. He never thought he could comprehend the king path this early, but this was just the beginning. Unlike the transcendent path, it required a lot more mastery.
Nevertheless, once he recovered enough, he returned to the city and wouldn't expect a big 'present' from lissa.
