"Hu…" Noel let out a long breath, calming his body down. He had sustained several wounds from the fight without being able to do the sa thing to the Supre Devil.
Noel could clearly see the difference in their strength.
If the Supre Devil could fight for long, he would have killed him.
Noel couldn't help but recall all the strikes the Supre Devil had launched against him. The first strike was overwhelming and fierce. At the sa ti, it was much more condensed than his attack.
The second strike looked casual, but even his best attack couldn't stop it. Still, sothing was wrong. Noel was able to stop him from unleashing that kind of attack just by sticking close to him.
'The Transcendent Path allows you to utilize the power of nature. It gives one or two bursts of power depending on how you utilize it.
'This is similar to what I comprehend at first, but after becoming a spirit transcendence, I know that this is not true at all.
'While it's true that the transcendent path is infusing nature to one's own will, it can also erge from the body, such as using elents and spiritual energy separately. It doesn't necessarily involve nature that way.
'However, the Supre Devil is clearly using that power from the outside. Does that an it's not sothing from within himself?
'But this is a power we gain, so it should be sothing from within as well. Or is it because of his condition that he can only release it to this degree?
'Either way, there's sothing I can do to test my theory.'
Noel's expression turned grim. Fighting the Supre Devil like this wouldn't really give him anything. He should push the Supre Devil to use his full strength to get more information.
And there was one thing he could do to force the Supre Devil to utilize that power. If it were anybody else, it would have been dangerous for them to use it recklessly.
But Noel was different. He had two spirits, which allowed him to use it two tis as long as he had enough spiritual energy. If there was sothing he didn't lack, it was definitely spiritual energy.
Hence, Noel took a deep breath as the spiritual energy burst out of his body.
"!!!" The Supre Devil widened his eyes, not expecting Noel's choice.
"True Spirit Body!"
The ground underneath his feet was imdiately covered in ice. The mont his spiritual energy burst, the ice spread and covered the entire area.
The Supre Devil stomped the ground and crushed the ice, but the latter continued to spread as long as Noel supplied the spiritual energy.
Noel chose to use his ice because he couldn't afford to use his biggest trump card, which was Ardagan's power. He had to be prepared in case sothing unexpected happened after all.
Hence, Noel chose Heisk's True Spirit Body.
He jumped forth while swinging his blade.
The Supre Devil gritted his teeth and moved faster than before. He struck Noel's blade down with so much force that it actually pushed it to the ground.
Bam!
The clash of their energy turned the ground into a crater.
The Supre Devil spun his body and kicked Noel in the stomach, blowing him away.
Noel was forced to slide on the ground to stop his montum, but he was smiling.
"!!!" The Supre Devil looked annoyed. When he looked down, he saw a thick layer of ice covering his right foot. He released another burst of energy to shatter the ice.
With this, Noel could clearly see the Supre Devil was still holding back. It wasn't because he didn't want to kill Noel, but because even with all this power, it wouldn't be enough.
'As expected, the kick was similar to all his attacks, but destroying my ice wasn't the sa. In other words, it's also sothing internal.
'The king path is sothing similar to the transcendent path, but there's sothing more profound about it.
'In other words, if a transcendent path allows one to use nature, does that an the king path gives us the ability to change nature?'
"!!!" It was just a guess, but sohow, he felt sothing just clicked in his mind. 'What is nature? Is it just the environnt? Or does it also include spiritual energy?
'Changing nature… Changing spiritual energy… Changing the 'characteristic' of spiritual energy… That's right. Can spiritual energy be changed by our power? How do we change it?
'The spiritual energy is abundant in nature, and there is a lot of knowledge about it. People treat it like a gas, energy, or even a particle.
'But what exactly is spiritual energy? Even though it's called energy, what's its true form? What are its properties? Can I change it?'
Noel just realized sothing. If he could truly change the property of spiritual energy, he might be able to unlock the black box his ancestor left behind.
In the end, he couldn't advance further simply because the spiritual energy couldn't continue onward due to the resistance. In that case, if he was able to change the spiritual energy into sothing that can flow within that resistance, wouldn't that an he could continue?
The mont that realization struck, sothing changed in Noel's mind.
Noel clearly used his ice to cover his foot so that the Supre Devil couldn't destroy it easily. But if he could change the energy to be much heavier or be able to counter the ice, he could destroy it with just a single burst of energy.
That was why Noel was convinced this was the correct answer.
In fact, Noel had been thinking that the king path was fierce but calm, and all other contradictory examples. All of it could actually be explained with this theory.
It was no wonder why Ardagan didn't want to tell him.
He knew Noel would arrive at this conclusion. But the question was, how did Noel plan to change his spiritual energy? Had Ardagan told him the truth, Noel's decision would be influenced by him, which might end up not being the most suitable for Noel. At that ti, Noel might not be able to advance again in the future.
A smile appeared on his face. The way Noel looked at the Supre Devil had changed.
"I have to thank you for showing the secret." Noel grinned.
