"Sir… There's a problem."
Noel's expression turned grim, while Layla looked confused.
"What's wrong?" Noel asked.
"Quancal has been attacked by a horde of demons. The situation doesn't look good over there."
"Quancal?" Layla wondered where it was.
"Tsk." Noel clicked his tongue. "Do you know the situation over there?"
"We don't know about the details. The only thing we know is that a horde of demons, in the thousands, attacks the city. The soldiers garrisoned in that place are still fighting, but because the city wall hasn't been built yet, the situation doesn't look good."
"You take over everything here. I will go there imdiately. Report to Howard and send more soldiers there. Have so people under Khalid go there as well." Noel paused for a mont before looking at Layla.
"Do you want to use the foundation to take care of this place?"
"Do you think it's possible? I will use my right to utilize another airship to transport everything. I shall consider this as one of the special targets."
"If you put it that way, then yes, it's possible." Layla nodded. "However, we won't be responsible for building the wall. Only what has been destroyed."
"That's good enough." Noel turned back to Grandel. "Tell Tristan to send Dimitri there. Bring another airship along with all the ergency resources for the city's restoration. We'll be cooperating with the Moon Temple this ti."
"Understood." Grandel acknowledged the order.
Before going, Noel looked at Layla. "Should I?"
"Please be gentle." Layla nodded with a smile.
Noel's hand looped around her back and grabbed her by the waist. A pair of fire wings appeared on his back and spread wide, almost as wide as the airship.
He first floated in the air and flew forward, using the fire to boost his speed.
Quancal was one of the cities under developnt. It was located in the northwest of this village, not far from both the demon territory and the border of the neighboring noble, Count Astha.
Although he had dispatched so soldiers to keep cleaning up the demon territory, the area was simply too big to be covered right away.
That was why Noel imdiately headed to this place.
It only took him twenty minutes to reach this city.
"…" Noel squinted his eyes.
"There! It seems to be protected by sothing!" Layla pointed at the mansion in the middle of the city. This mansion would be used as the governnt office, but this was also the last line of defense Noel had prepared.
He had equipped the mansion with a spiritual energy barrier rune and left behind enough demon crystals for them to last for a while. Even if there was one superior demon in the mix, they should be able to last for two days, which should be enough for the reinforcent to co.
He had placed this kind of rune in every city so they could use it to protect themselves. In the end, his territory was directly facing the demon territory, so he had considered the possibility of it being attacked.
It appeared the barrier had been activated, and it was under attack by the demons.
There was one question in his mind. Since the barrier had been activated, was it activated after the people entered this mansion, or was it activated just to protect the one in charge? If it was the latter, he would be furious, especially after seeing his citizens getting slaughtered by the demons.
"Can you use your barrier to create an outer layer for that rune? I will handle all the demons." Noel asked.
"Sure thing." Layla nodded.
When Noel was about to help the city, he suddenly noticed another unexpected occurrence.
There was a surging wave appearing out of thin air, swallowing the demons.
A single wave of her spear created a water wave that had enough pressure and sharpness to cut through the demons.
"There's a person fighting…" Layla pointed at the occurrence.
"Incetta…" Noel muttered.
Incetta had beco quite strong. Under the tutelage of the forr spirit transcendence as well as the commander under his ancestor, Incetta was able to fully realize her talent.
There was a big demon standing in her way. Its giant body was destroying the buildings around it as it gradually charged at Incetta.
Incetta lifted up her spear as the chanism inside the spear changed this weapon into a sword. She deed that piercing this big demon would be harder than slicing it in two.
Then she leaped into the air and swung her blade.
The demon used its tusk to pierce her. Incetta first blocked it and used that power to spin herself in the air before waving her sword from the side. The water wave cut through both tusks.
The demon scread, but Incetta hadn't finished yet. She hit the demon one more ti, this ti aiming for its neck.
Surprisingly, the water wave from the second attack only cut two-thirds of the neck. It was true that the demon was just a peak level demon, but she must have expected her slash to completely slice the neck. It was proven by her frustrated expression, even though the demon died because of that single attack.
"Wow. She is so strong!" Layla looked surprised.
Noel shook his head and finally flew to the city. He dropped Layla in the mansion while saying, "Check it for . If I'm not wrong, there are 157 people building this city. Check the mansion."
"Sure." Layla waved her hand while landing right in front of the mansion. She first created another barrier to protect the people before making sure whether the people were alright or slaughtered outside this mansion.
anwhile, Incetta had just taken down another ten demons before she saw a few black birds flying in the sky.
"!!!" Incetta raised her head while muttering, "My lord."
The birds exploded upon hitting the demons. Then Noel landed on the ground and waved his hand, spreading his ice in all directions.
"Good work, Incetta. I will sweep the enemies from the left. You go in the opposite direction."
"Yes, my lord."
