"HALT!!!!"
A thunderous roar suddenly shattered the air!
The sheer force of the soundwave slamd into the geniuses of the four races as they dove toward the surface, forcing them to lurch to a stop mid-air.
Baffled, they looked back toward the sky. The one who had spoken was Emperor Xis, who had been uncharacteristically silent until now.
"You lot—go and test it first!"
Emperor Xis stared down at the energy barrier shimring across the entire continent. He rembered that many of the human geniuses had remained outside earlier, which struck him as a glaring red flag.
As soon as he spoke, the powerhouses of the four races felt a jolt of clarity. The frenzied greed that had clouded their minds finally began to dissipate.
Indeed, why were the humans just waiting there? It was blatantly unnatural.
It was almost certainly a trap.
No one dared to move another inch. Every eye turned toward the handful of geniuses Emperor Xis had singled out.
The chosen few exchanged uneasy glances, but they didn't dare disobey. One by one, they plumted toward the continent below.
As the human geniuses watched them descend, their expressions turned grim. These particular aliens were quite young—mbers of the weakest tier among the gathered geniuses.
Hummm!
In an instant, the group passed through the barrier.
[Ding! Scan complete. Seven individuals have t the minimum talent requirents. Entry permitted! Total participant count is below 3,000. Inheritance cannot be initiated.]
The system notification echoed through the sky, and the truth finally dawned on the four races.
No wonder the humans were waiting. They didn't have enough people!
But weren't there plenty of geniuses outside? If they added everyone up, they would easily surpass three thousand.
"There's a catch. It seems only those within a certain age bracket who also possess S talent or higher are eligible for the trial!"
In that single mont, many of the elder powerhouses deduced the truth.
The four Emperors imdiately pulled up the dossiers of the human geniuses present. A quick cross-reference of their ages confird their suspicions.
"I see... The humans are truly insidious. If Emperor Xis hadn't stopped us just now, our four races would have lost eighty percent of our powerhouses in a single heartbeat!"
Emperor Skrull let out a cold snort, his voice dripping with venom as he cursed the humans' treachery.
"Let’s go. It seems us 'old relics' have no chance here," Emperor Xis said calmly, his voice flat. "Order all geniuses who have exceeded thirty percent of their lifespan for their current realm to withdraw. Those who remain will explore this secret realm alongside the humans."
The other three Emperors nodded in silent agreent.
"All geniuses of the four races! Anyone whose age exceeds thirty percent of their current realm's limit, withdraw from the secret realm imdiately!" Emperor Tartarus bellowed.
Following his command, the elder powerhouses of the four races exchanged looks before reluctantly retreating toward the exit.
Even after the purge, the remaining force was staggering. There were still over a thousand Planetary Class powerhouses and eight Stellar Class elites. Furthermore, there were at least thirty thousand Grandmasters and Great Grandmasters. Their sheer numbers were dozens of tis greater than the human contingent.
The humans watching this felt their hearts sink. The odds were abysmal.
Fortunately, once inside, it would be every man for himself. Treasures bred betrayal; even mbers of the sa race would slaughter each other for a prize.
Of course, if a fight broke out over a treasure involving a human, there was no doubt: the human would be the first to die.
"The rest is up to you."
"Seize that inheritance for the Empire!"
"Be careful."
...
High in the sky, the four Emperors gave their final, solemn instructions to their kin before turning to vanish through the spatial rift.
With the elders gone, the remaining geniuses surged toward the continent like a tidal wave.
[Ding! Participant quota reached. Initiating Inheritance Mode!]
As the crowd poured in, a cold, chanical voice rang out across the heavens.
Vrummm!
Before anyone could react, a massive spatial fluctuation enveloped tens of thousands of people. In the blink of an eye, everyone vanished from the spot.
When they reappeared, the powerhouses of the five races had been scattered across the vast continent. The distances between individuals were imnse.
[The Inheritance Trial is divided into three stages. Pass all three stages to beco the sole successor of this secret realm’s master—a Star Sea Realm powerhouse—and claim his entire legacy!]
The notification rang in everyone's mind simultaneously. The geniuses of the five races were instantly electrified.
A Star Sea Realm powerhouse! It really was the legacy of a Star Sea Realm expert!
If any of them could obtain this inheritance, they would no longer need to fear the machinations of other races. A legacy of this caliber would surely include ships above Rank 9 or high-grade combat suits—items of world-shaking power.
[Stage One: Begin!!!]
Another booming announcent shook the sky.
Opponents suddenly materialized around the geniuses of all five races.
The trial was identical to what Lance and Selina had faced: ten rounds of combat. However, the difficulty was nowhere near the level of Selina’s trial—and it wasn't even in the sa universe as Lance’s.
Except for one person.
...
[The Inheritance Trial is divided into three stages. Pass all three stages... Detected: Talent has reached Sub-SS Rank. Minimum requirents for the 'True Inheritance' have been t.]
[If you successfully complete all trials, you will beco the sole successor of this secret realm’s master—a Universal Class powerhouse—and claim his entire legacy!]
On a desolate stretch of wasteland, a three-ter-tall Tartaran youth stood frozen, staring at the sky in shock.
"Wait... what? Everyone said this was a Star Sea Realm legacy. How is it a Universal Class inheritance?!"
Talir was completely stunned. As the premier genius of the Tartaran race, possessing Sub-SS talent, he was already a Tier 7 (Great Grandmaster) powerhouse at only a hundred years old. Under normal circumstances, he was guaranteed to reach the Planetary Class within two centuries.
And now, he was being told this legacy belonged to a terrifying Universal Class entity.
"Wait... the 'True Inheritance'?" His mind raced as he connected the dots. "Does that an even if the others pass their trials, they’re only getting a secondary legacy?!"
A slow, predatory grin spread across his face.
"Hahaha! Even if I haven't officially reached SS-Rank talent, being Sub-SS is enough! This Universal Class inheritance... it belongs to !"
Talir laughed maniacally as he drew a massive greatsword from his Subspace Ring.
ROAR!!!!
At that mont, a furious howl descended from the heavens.
BOOM!
With a ground-shaking impact, a powerful Tier 7 (Great Grandmaster) Void Beast slamd into the earth.
ROAR!!!
The beast stood thousands of ters tall. The mont it spotted Talir, it let out a deafening roar of challenge.
"Tier 7, 5-Star? Trash!!"
Talir sneered. He swung his greatsword in a savage arc.
SHIIIIING!
The air shrieked as it was torn asunder. A gargantuan, thousand-ter-long sword phantom crashed down like a falling mountain.
CRUNCH!
With a thunderous explosion, the newly arrived Void Beast was instantly hamred into a bloody pulp.
The sheer display of power was overwhelming.
[Ding! Congratulations on passing Stage One, Round 1. Round 2 is now beginning!]
ROAR!!!!
As the system alert faded, the howl of another Void Beast signaled the start of the next round.
Talir, fueled by his absolute strength, obliterated his opponent in Round 2.
Round after round, the Void Beasts appeared, and round after round, Talir slaughtered them with ease. However, as the beasts' power scaled upward, Talir finally began to feel the pressure.
By Round 6, the Void Beast had reached Tier 5, 10-Star. Its raw power was already eight tis his own!
Furthermore, these Void Beasts were anything but weak.
Even Talir was finally forced to get serious.
By the eighth round, the strength of the Void Beasts had skyrocketed directly to the Planetary Class!
The gap of an entire major realm caused Talir’s expression to twist in horror. One had to realize that at this stage, the difficulty multiplier was already at sixteen tis the baseline. This was already more powerful than the absolute limit of an S Rank genius!
And yet, he was only on the eighth round.
If the difficulty scaled by an entire realm every two rounds, the tenth round would feature a Planetary Class (Rank 2) opponent. He wouldn't stand a chance.
Regardless, he could only grit his teeth and push forward.
"Rumble! Rumble!"
Finally, after a grueling hour-long war of attrition, he erged victorious. Though he hadn't sustained much physical injury, his energy reserves were nearly depleted.
"Ninth round comncing!!"
Right on cue, a notification echoed from the sky. A mont later, a massive silhouette descended with a thunderous crash.
"Boom!"
The entire earth trembled violently under the weight of the new arrival.
However, the mont Talir saw the Void Beast before him, his face turned deathly pale.
"Tier 6, 2-Star! How is that possible?!"
Talir stood frozen in disbelief. A terrifying entity at Tier 6, 2-Star was appearing now? What would the tenth round even look like?
"ROAR!!"
The next instant, a massive claw swept toward him. It was so fast that Talir had no ti to react. He was struck head-on.
"BOOM!"
Following a world-shaking explosion, Talir was gone. The top genius of the Tartarans had perished, just like that.
Similar scenes were playing out rapidly across the secret realm. Whether they were humans or mbers of the other four major races, the first round of the trial alone was inflicting devastating casualties.
Fortunately, the trials for most others were only for a Star Sea Realm inheritance, so about thirty percent of the participants managed to pass the first round.
This was still a significant number—over ten thousand people survived. Unfortunately, humans accounted for only a few hundred of them. The rest of the human geniuses had been slaughtered during the assessnt.
Shortly after, the survivors from all five races were teleported into the Stairway Dinsion. In this place, as long as one's will was strong enough, they could pass. However, if their willpower failed, they would never leave. The Central Intellect had brought them in, but it had no obligation to escort them out. Eventually, they would all wither away and die as ti marched on.
Of course, Lance was completely oblivious to all of this.
At that mont, he had been cultivating within the dark domain for ten full hours.
His Reconstruction Quota had long since refreshed, but he hadn't stopped because he was on the verge of bringing the Dark Abyssal Scripture to the Master level.
Indeed, he was at the threshold of Mastery.
If he succeeded, he would directly awaken a powerful Desolate Grade trait: Polar Yin Sacred Power.
Once he fixed its exploits, he could potentially leap from Rank 10 to Rank 13, Rank 14, or perhaps even higher. The boost to his combat power would be astronomical.
System Alert: Congratulations! Your CON has increased to 2.56 billion! Your Martial Arts realm has reached: Great Grandmaster (Rank 9)!
System Alert: Congratulations! Your Soul value has increased to 1.66 billion!
Two notifications rang out in Lance's mind.
His martial cultivation had reached Great Grandmaster (Rank 9), and his soul realm had ascended to the formidable Eighth Heaven.
Despite the alerts, Lance didn't react. He kept his eyes closed, remaining fully imrsed in the cultivation of the Dark Abyssal Scripture.
"Hum!!"
Suddenly, within Lance's Consciousness Hub, the black orb representing the Polar Yin power shuddered violently.
"Buzz!"
In an instant, profound ripples began to surge wildly across the surface of the orb.
As the energy churned, Lance could clearly feel the Polar Yin power beginning to compress itself from the inside out. The aura radiating from the orb intensified at a terrifying rate.
Finally, the orb collapsed to a re one percent of its original size, yet the power it emitted skyrocketed.
But it wasn't over. Although the Polar Yin power had evolved into Polar Yin Sacred Power, its size was significantly smaller than the Nine Heavens Starfire nearby.
Consequently, the surrounding dark energy began to flood into the Polar Yin Sacred Power orb like a torrential tide.
As ti passed, Lance watched as the orb began to slowly expand. At this rate, the Sacred Power would soon reach its absolute peak.
It wasn't a fast process, so Lance continued to wait and cultivate.
Finally, another two hours passed.
By the ti Lance's CON reached 3 billion, the condensation of the Polar Yin Sacred Power was complete.
System Alert: Congratulations! You have successfully reached the Master level of the Dark Abyssal Scripture. Awakened Trait: Polar Yin Sacred Power (Desolate Grade).
Lance’s lips curled into a slight smile as the notification echoed in his mind.
"Finally reached Mastery. The trait has hit its limit as well. Even if I push the scripture to the Perfect level, it would only enhance the potency of the Sacred Power, not its grade. In that case... System, fix all Exploits in the Polar Yin Sacred Power!"
Lance didn't hesitate; he issued the command imdiately.
System Notification: A massive stockpile has been detected!
