The next morning is busy for Evan. He got ho last night, exhausted, so he imdiately fell asleep.

It felt like he had only a wink of sleep and then there is a loud bell sound that woke him up. Apparently, it is a wake up call for everyone in the manor. He had not heard of it, not until his own servant was imdiately on his door when he got up, ready to knock if Evan didn’t open it.

"May I please enter?" The servant asked.

Evan just side-stepped and let him in without a word. He is yawning, half-awake and half-asleep still. He had a tiring night and the blare of the alarm did not help with the usual way he eventually wake up.

The servant enters the room and began parting the curtains. Instead of the bright sun shining from the horizon, the sky is a little darker, covered in a layer of grey clouds.

It looks like it will rain later in the day.

"Don’t worry about the loud sound. It is just the alarm." The servant says, as he approached the bed and is about to make it.

"Can’t I just do the cleaning of my own bed?" Evan asked, attempting to stop the servant.

For which the servant in front of him shook his head. "I’m sorry I can’t do that. I will get in trouble with the Head Maid or at the worst, the Master Theobald."

Evan pulled his hand back at that. He didn’t want to cause soone to get in trouble. "So, did you just get here to make sure I wake up, open the curtains and make my bed?"

The servant paused, giving him a smile before nodding his head. "Yes, among many others. But that is main task on the mornings."

There is a brief silence between them while the servant finishes in making his bed and Evan awkwardly stands there waiting for him to be done.

"So, am I at least allowed to ask for your na?"

The servant nods his head.

"Then, what is your na?" Evan asked.

"Joshua." The servant replied. "I don’t have a last na, and it is a na given to by grace of Master Theobald after he accepted to adopt into his staff since I don’t have any talents."

Evan saw the smile on Joshua’s face. Even if the servant is wearing a simple uniform shirt with long black slacks. Joshua is also a little taller than Evan, maybe he is also a little bit older too.

"Now, I’m here and serving the Valrepite manor happily until they find a replacent for . All to repay my debt of gratitude." Joshua finished.

"I see. Are there any others that Sir Theobald adopted like you?" Evan asked, curiosity in his tone.

Joshua nods his head. "There are plenty of us around the house. I don’t know what Master Theobald’s thods of picking but you are selected too. From all of us here, we wish you good luck for the entrance exams."

"Thank you."

The conversation they had was pleasant. Evan had to be helped to bathe, which is sothing he didn’t know he should be doing in the manor. He can bathe himself, but Joshua told him that it was not enough.

After the short bath, Evan was given formal clothes that Joshua insists that he wore. It is apparently to keep up appearances. Evan has to represent a noble now. So, he needs to appear as if he is one.

He is wearing a white, high collared, long sleeve with a green decorated vest on top of it. He also wore a dark green pants that complent the vest, and brown boots that is a little bigger than his shoe size. It goes up until half of his lower leg.

It is uncomfortable and it also restricts movents. But Evan didn’t really have a say to it.

Even if he is adopted to the family, Evan knew that he will not be taking the noble’s Valrepite last na unless he marries to their family. He doesn’t think it would be possible too, not will that ever be his intention, especially since Spire didn’t exactly like him.

By breakfast, Sir Theobald can’t be found, but Evan sat on the sa seat he had sat the night before. He is staring at the seat across from him, Spire’s seat. It is still empty.

’I’m not wearing your clothes and I feel itchy.’ Iva says in his mind, almost making Evan jump.

No matter how many tis Iva does this, Evan would always feel as if it appears out of nowhere.

’Do not ever ntion about the itchiness. It is making feel itchy again.’ Evan replied ntally.

Iva hums. ’It is not my fault you feel itchy. I’m just saying what I see.’

Evan watched as the servants around him started pouring in the room and putting food in front of him. ’So, what did you want from ? You’re appearing because you want to tell sothing?’

’Oooh! I got caught!’ Iva giggles a little. ’I do have so news. Father and daughter aren’t around~’

Evan’s eyebrows furrowed. He looks at the plate laid in front laid for him. Then, he looks to see that there are plates laid for Sir Theobald and for Spire too.

’Are you sure? They are putting down plates for them both and there is way too much food that I will not be able to finish it on my own.’

’You have already seen how much food they prepare. Anyway, my point is, they are not here for breakfast because they are at the training center.’ Iva continues.

’And how did you find out about this information?’Evan asked.

Just as he did so, the food is finished being prepared and he began to eat his food. There was toast with butter, eggs and a type of at Evan has never tasted before.

Iva hums. ’Those looks yum. You should leave so for one day so I can also try them. The salad plant thing you gave before was really good.’

Evan hums as he ate. ’You still haven’t told where you got the information from.’

’Check the map, silly!’ It is calling Evan with the sa nickna it had given him. ’I got the information from you map. There are things you have that I have access for. Not all of them, but map is one that I can see.’

Evan looks around him to check where everyone is. There is no one else other than him and the servant that is assigned to him. Since it is also morning, the surroundings is already busy and there would be no one who will notice if Evan does try and check his map.

"Status." Evan mutters under his breath. He made sure that his whisper wasn’t too loud. Then, he continues. "Map tab."

The map panel finally appeared in front of him. He looks at where he is on the map, the sa blue opaque dot in the middle of the screen and a smaller violet dot is going with him as he moved. It is probably just representing him and Iva.

Apart from him, he is seeing a lot of yellow opaque dots moving around. They seem to be the servants of the manor moving around.

The one behind his dot is a violet opaque dot. When he turns around, it was just Joshua. It looks like the map recognizes that Joshua is an ally of his now.

Other than that, there is a part of the east wing where there is a door unlocked. Since he can see the interior of any rooms with an unlocked door, Evan is aware of two more violet opaque dots inside.

There were very few people that Evan was able to talk, let alone consider as ally. He can imdiately tell that those people would probably be Spire and Sir Theobald.

They seem to be moving a lot, one dot is moving towards the other. Maybe they were sparring? Evan can’t tell from here.

He can only visually grasp the idea of their location, not what they were doing in the room.

’So, they seem to be training.’ Evan says after looking at the dots. ’I think that is where the training room is.’

Iva hums in response. ’Yeah, I was listening in on your conversation with that Sir Theobald in the study. He ntioned that you can use the training room whenever you can. I think it ans that you can use it now too.’

Evan continued to eat at this point, making sure that he is chewing slowly and not being obvious about having an entire conversation ntally. ’I know that but that doesn’t an I could just barged in there while it is being used. That is just rude.’

’Uh huh. But aren’t you curious?’

Curiosity. That is mostly how Evan does things nowadays. Of course he is curious. He is always eager to know more. He sighs. Looks like he is going to check on what is happening in that room right after he finished his fill.
