"Who are you?"

In the dense forest, Tian stared at the man before him, his eyes lifeless.

Following the information provided by his father, the High Priest, he had made his way from the lake to the Sword Hall, then slowly crept closer, observing every detail.

He had been observing for over an hour, hesitating to make a move because he wanted to identify who had been sent to protect Su Yu.

Although Tian was now a zombie, he hadn’t lost all of his reason.

Just a mont ago, while he was still surveying the area, a bizarre energy fluctuation had suddenly materialized before him. Then, this middle-aged man dressed in black erged directly from it, his clothes fluttering in the wind as he ca to a silent stop in front of Tian.

Tian instantly realized that the man before him was extraordinarily powerful. He retreated a few steps and asked cautiously,

"Spatial Ghost. Are you Liu Chang?"

"You almost made angry, little zombie."

Liu Chang narrowed his eyes, staring fixedly at Tian. "Fortunately, you recognized ," he chuckled. "I, Liu Chang, am a kind-hearted man. I can grant you a quick and painless death."

Liu Chang’s reputation was legendary in the Spiritual Sect, so Tian had naturally heard of him. The High Priest had even given him sothing specifically to handle him.

But faced with such a powerful Sequencer, Tian’s vigilance instantly rose to its peak. His voice ca out stiff and halting as he spoke,

"I can only save my mother by killing Su Yu. I hope you will let ."

"Enough of this nonsense!"

The mont he finished speaking, Liu Chang vanished on the spot.

He reappeared in front of Tian and slamd a palm directly into his chest. The blow sent Tian flying back several ters. He had to dig his feet deep into the soil like brakes to bring himself to a halt.

Where Liu Chang’s palm had connected, it was as if space itself had been carved away. A large hole had appeared, but there was no blood or flesh inside—just an empty void.

Fortunately, being a corpse, he felt no pain, so it didn’t affect his combat ability.

"Tell your High Priest to co himself next ti. Otherwise, this is just too easy."

Liu Chang’s figure blurred and then reappeared where he had first stood.

He glanced at Tian and shook his head, as if lanting that his strike had failed to hit his opponent’s heart. Then, his figure vanished once more.

Alarm bells scread in Tian’s mind. He now understood just how terrifying the "Spatial Ghost" truly was. He ca and went without a trace, making it impossible to even fight back.

’A single mistake, and he would die here. That would an his brother, Xing, would also likely fail. I have to buy Xing enough ti!’

At that thought, Tian gritted his teeth and moved as fast as he could to protect his vital spots—his heart, his head—and then bolted backward.

He knew he couldn’t possibly escape the Spatial Ghost’s pursuit.

All he needed to do now was stall Liu Chang. And the best way to do that was to infuriate him! Then... he would hold on for dear life!

A rare glint of humanity flashed in Tian’s eyes—a look of pure hatred. Staring daggers behind him, he crushed the white bead he had been hiding in his pocket.

The High Priest had given it to them before they left. Its sole purpose... was to isolate space.

Of course, the High Priest hadn’t known that Liu Chang himself would be protecting Su Yu.

However, he had taken into account the Spatial Ghost’s ability to provide rapid reinforcent, so he had given the two brothers the bead specifically to prevent that from happening.

He turned his head to face the disdainful Liu Chang and sneered.

"Liu the Sequencer, I forgot to tell you... I have a brother out there."

"Take a guess. What do you think happens when a Tier Two Peak like Su Yu faces a Tier Four zombie?"

"Heh, you’re more foolish than I thought, little zombie."

Liu Chang glanced at Tian with an arrogant air. He casually raised his right hand and snapped his fingers. "Did you really think," he said slowly, "that such a simple trick could provoke ?"

One second. Two seconds. Three seconds.

Liu Chang’s eyes narrowed slightly. He snapped his fingers again.

With this snap, Liu Chang’s figure blurred and reappeared in front of Tian. He smashed a fist directly into Tian’s left leg, sending him flying violently.

This ti, Liu Chang’s attack was especially vicious; he had used nearly his full strength. Tian tumbled across the ground for dozens of yards before finally skidding to a stop. He looked a ss, clutching at his left leg—which had been completely obliterated into nothingness—but a smile touched his lips as he spoke.

"I never expected to hook a big fish like you. Su Yu is a dead man today!"

And then Liu Chang understood.

It wasn’t that his Spatial Ghost ability had failed. It was that he could no longer lock onto a location outside this forest. To put it simply... he couldn’t teleport out.

He didn’t know how the little zombie had managed it, but it genuinely infuriated him. He had always considered protecting Su Yu to be a simple mission, yet here it was, about to end in failure after only a few days.

’Unacceptable...’

’I absolutely will not allow this to happen!!!’

Liu Chang’s face fell completely. His voice dripping with fury, he roared, "If I just blast you into dust, I’ll be able to get out, won’t I!!!"

...

「The Sword Hall.」

Xing pulled open the Sword Hall’s wooden doors and walked straight inside.

A young man sat quietly in the training hall, sipping a pot of hot tea. Beside him was the empty container of a recently finished al of chicken and rice.

The mont his footsteps echoed in the hall, Su Xing noticed his presence and turned to face him.

Their eyes t.

"You’ve got a lot of nerve, walking in here."

Su Xing’s expression turned cold. He was already annoyed about his al being interrupted, and now this guy had the gall to serve himself up on a silver platter.

Then Su Xing noticed sothing different about this new zombie compared to the Corpse Assistant Priest. This one looked much more like a living person, and the sequence energy radiating from him was far stronger than that of the half-baked Tier Four Corpse Assistant Priest.

’So this is a true Tier Four?!’

"Are... are you Su Yu’s brother?"

Perhaps because he was a zombie, Xing’s voice was incredibly stiff. He stared at Su Xing with an expressionless face for a mont before turning to gaze around the Sword Hall, a flicker of reminiscence in his eyes. He then spoke in a gravelly, uneven tone,

"My na is Xing. I hear you’re a Sword Hall Coach?"

"Before I beca... this, I was a Sword Hall Coach, too."

As he spoke, Xing walked to a sword rack. He picked up several swords in a row, only to shake his head and put them back. At last, he settled on a heavy sword that seed barely serviceable, then turned to Su Xing and murmured,

"It seems we have different tastes in blades."

Seeing that the man calling himself Xing hadn’t attacked imdiately, Su Xing also rose to his feet. He made a grasping motion with his right hand, and the Black Sword materialized in his grip. Xing froze for a second, then, as if realizing sothing, let out a sudden laugh.

"So, that’s the kind of sword you specialize in."

"But... it doesn’t matter. I’ll use your sword to kill you, and then I’ll kill your brother with it, too."

"My apologies, colleague."
