The sky held a lingering sunset, the afterglow of the setting sun spread across the land. After the rain, the sll of fresh grass mingled with the scent of the soil, making the air even fresher.

As the sky dimd, Chu Ming finally arrived at Cyan Smoke City. It seed that Cyan Smoke City had just experienced a beast tide, as there were quite a few City Guard Army mbers transporting demon beast corpses, creating a bloody scene.

Entering the city along with Chu Ming were nurous martial artists. Among them, Chu Ming even saw core disciples from Cyan Nether Mountain and Burning Fire Valley. Dressed in Cyan Yang Sect attire, they also noticed Chu Ming. Seeing Chu Ming’s unfamiliar face, they instantly sneered in disdain.

After entering the city, Chu Ming randomly found a relatively quiet tavern. As soon as he entered, he attracted the attention of many onlookers, not because they recognized Chu Ming’s identity, but because he was simply too young.

Being so young and venturing into the martial world, he was either a fool or very powerful. Seeing Chu Ming’s Cyan Yang Sect attire, they believed more in the latter.

"Sir, are you here for food or lodging?" A tavern attendant approached enthusiastically. When it ca to receiving guests, he especially liked these sect disciples, as they often spent generously. The tips they gave could equal several months of his wages.

"Lodging, make sure to tie my horse properly and feed it so high-quality forage." Chu Ming said indifferently, then took out two pieces of silver from his embrace and tossed them to the attendant.

"Alright, please wait a mont!" The attendant was overjoyed, taking the silver and the horse’s reins.

Chu Ming found an empty table and sat down, observing the tavern’s setup. It wasn’t very large; the lanterns at the entrance brightly illuminated the tavern, and there were a few oil lamps inside, barely maintaining the light.

"Your horse is tied up, the guestroom is upstairs, please follow !"

Soon, the attendant returned and imdiately spoke to Chu Ming while extending his arm to lead the way to the stairs.

"Sir, you’ve also co for tomorrow’s auction? Speaking of which, tomorrow’s auction has indeed attracted many people. The nearby taverns are all fully booked, only ours still has a few guest rooms left."

At this, the attendant’s face showed a few threads of pride.

"Cyan Smoke City is holding an auction?" Chu Ming asked in confusion.

"Sir, you didn’t co for the auction?" The attendant was taken aback; he initially thought Chu Ming, like everyone else, had co upon hearing news of the auction. He didn’t expect otherwise.

"Explain it clearly!" Chu Ming took out another piece of silver from his embrace and tossed it to the attendant, speaking indifferently.

"Alright, the situation is like this..." The attendant vividly explained what he knew. However, being at the bottom rung of Cyan Smoke City, the information he had was limited, causing Chu Ming to frown slightly while listening.

"But, I heard them say that the highlight this ti seems to be a pair of top-tier Profound Level gloves."

Finally, the attendant whispered as they reached the guestroom on the second floor.

"Sir, this is the room. Just let us know if you need anything, we’ll make sure it’s taken care of!"

The attendant said obsequiously as he was about to leave. Chu Ming nodded and entered the room, closing the door behind him.

The room wasn’t large, simply furnished with a table, two chairs, and a bed, but it was neatly organized and clean.

Sitting in the chair, Chu Ming pondered the attendant’s words. Cyan Smoke City’s auction was not just an auction, but a ans for Cyan Smoke City to attract martial artists to defend against Beast Tide. By hosting an auction, they drew martial artists from surrounding cities, increasing Cyan Smoke City’s survival odds in case of a Beast Tide.

Having arrived, Chu Ming naturally wanted to witness it, and he also wanted to buy so items to enhance his strength. Now he vaguely understood why he saw core disciples from Cyan Nether Mountain and Burning Fire Valley at Cyan Smoke City’s gate. They probably ca for the auction as well.

Otherwise, normally elusive core disciples wouldn’t co to a small city like Cyan Smoke City.

Sitting on the bed, Chu Ming took out a middle-grade Spirit Stone and began cultivating, entering an imrsive state of cultivation. Previously, Chu Ming cultivated diligently and advanced swiftly, but he had never reached a state of imrsion. Now, with the Great Yan Kingdom’s volatile situation, every additional bit of strength increased his chance of survival.

One night passed without words.

.....

The next day, after having breakfast, Chu Ming asked the attendant about the auction venue and then left.

Perhaps due to the auction, the number of martial artists in Cyan Smoke City was noticeably higher, and their quality had also improved significantly. Transcendence Realm martial artists were everywhere, and Chu Ming even spotted a True Dao Martial Artist in the crowd.

"I heard there’s a top-tier Profound Level pair of gloves in this auction; I wonder if it’s true?"

"It should be true; apparently, soone saw the Grand Elder of the Martial Extre Sect personally attend, presumably for those gloves."

"Martial Extre Sect is the closest to Cyan Smoke City. The auction news probably hasn’t reached other cities yet; otherwise, it’d be a spectacle."

"Stop talking, we have arrived at the auction venue!"

At the grand and spacious entrance of the auction venue, several people entered side by side.

"The Grand Elder of the Martial Extre Sect also ca?" Chu Ming couldn’t help but be moved. The Grand Elder of the Martial Extre Sect was at least at the peak of True Dao, equal to the Grand Elders of the other four sects in the Great Yan Kingdom. Even the Sovereign of the Great Yan Kingdom treated him with respect; it was unexpected that he would co to Cyan Smoke City for the auction.

To enter the VIP room inside the auction house, one must pay a hundred thousand gold, which equals one million silver. Chu Ming had over a million in Gold Notes in his Storage Ring, so he took out a hundred thousand and handed it to the guard, and an attendant imdiately led Chu Ming toward the VIP room.

As martial artists’ strength advanced, the opportunity to use gold and silver diminished. True Dao Martial Artists typically trade using Spirit Stones; ten thousand silver on the market can be exchanged for one lower-grade Spirit Stone, but few actually make the exchange.

The auction venue was vast, with many walls inlaid with gold and crystal stones, forming exquisite patterns that looked anything but vulgar, instead giving a refreshing and exuberant feeling.

Chu Ming’s VIP room was slightly to the right opposite the stone auction platform.

The VIP room wasn’t large and sparsely furnished, with just a few demon beast leather chairs and so snacks on a gold-edged table.

"If you need anything, just let know; I’ll be outside the VIP room!" The attendant said respectfully to Chu Ming, who nodded.

The attendant left, closing the door. Chu Ming sat in a demon beast leather chair, waiting quietly for the auction to begin.

In the adjacent VIP room, a middle-aged man with a veiled hood sat inside. His face was obscured and indistinct. Dressed in black brocade, he wore a jade ring on his right thumb, his fingers constantly fidgeting with it, waiting quietly for the auction to start as well.

At that mont, Chu Ming noticed a young man enter from the auction hall’s entrance, heading towards the VIP rooms. The figure in red, tall and slender, seed to walk very slowly, but Chu Ming couldn’t help but be moved upon seeing him because, under that person’s feet, he sensed the fast-slow concept.

This person was indeed a core disciple of Burning Fire Valley, applying the fast-slow concept seamlessly to his steps.
