A night gone by quickly. Lu Chen woke up from bed the next day when the sun rose high in the sky.
He picked up the tal sword and took a shower before moving toward the west mountain.
I don’t have to go out tonight so I can hunt a few more barbaric beast during the day. Let’s go to the forest first followed by the lake.
As the appearance of the Shadow Realm has pressed him greatly, he didn’t thought of relaxing at all and was ready to hunt now.
While he was traveling, he was planning out his hunt based on the information given to him by Uncle Da Zhuang.
It was necessary as he was not like the ordinary hunters that used traps in their hunt. He was slow in speed and hence, in order for him to hunt, he has to prey on the barbaric beasts that wouldn’t run.
Most of the barbaric beasts have their own territories. Thus, Lu Chen would have to plan carefully to speed up his hunt.
However, after he left the village, Lu Chen noticed sothing strange.
The ladies in the village were protected by the male barbarians in the center and they were moving toward the west mountain.
Lu Chen was curious to see them and he held one of them back and asked, “Why are you all heading to the west mountain? Is there a festival?”
The lady who was held behind was about to say sothing but when she noticed it was Lu Chen, she quickly answered him respectfully, “Master, you don’t know yet, do you?”
“It has sothing to do with ?”
“Of course. After you have killed the Fire Bull, Master Wuzu ordered us to search for dicinal herbs and food in its territory.”
She didn’t say much but Lu Chen quickly inferred the situation out in his mind.
The Fire Bull was nothing to , but its impenetrable skin and ability to release flas are still very threatening to the ordinary barbarians.
At the sa ti, as the ordinary weapons cannot penetrate through its skin, it was not afraid of getting ganged up by numbers. Which was why the village didn’t try to get rid of it anymore.
All of this made the Fire Bull unstoppable in its territory and the barbarians didn’t even dare to go close it.
However, although Fire Bull has been rampaging in its territory, it has also protected the resources there. No matter it was the animals or the dicinal herbs, or anything that could’ve been consud as food, they were all well preserved without the barbarians plundering them.
Back then, the villagers were afraid of the Fire Bull and refrained from going into its territory. But now after I killed it, the villagers can enter its territory and plunder the resources in it.
With the intelligence he has, Lu Chen was able to get the full picture from the limited information fed to him.
Clearly, after losing its protector, it was the best ti to plunder the territory now. As long as they were not too lazy, they would be able to find resources easily there.
And Lu Chen guessed it right. On his way out to hunt, Lu Chen noticed there were many villagers that were returning to the village with bags full of resources with them.
At the sa ti, they would all lower their heads and greeted him respectfully.
They were thanking Lu Chen for giving them the chance.
When he looked at them, Lu Chen couldn’t help but thought of the benefits a strong expert would bring to the village.
A strong expert can protect the village, clear the threats around it, and expand the village’s hunting area. Thus, it’s easy for a village to excel when there is an expert in it.
Which explains why the barbarians respect the experts so much. After all, the experts are the protectors of the village.
As he thought, Lu Chen didn’t slow down and watch.
He was walking fast and entered the west mountain. After walking a distance away from the villagers, Lu Chen suddenly turned and strode toward another direction.
When the barbarians saw Lu Chen changing his direction, especially the direction he was heading for, the barbarians’ eyes brightened up.
“Master Ah’Chen, is he going to clear the other barbaric beasts?”
“Pray the ancestors, please bless Ah’Chen in his battles!”
“If Master Ah’Chen can clear out a few more safe areas, we will be able to survive the winter better this year.”
“Yeah, that’s right. But isn’t it too risky for Master Ah’Chen to do it every ti?”
…
Lu Chen didn’t know about the chatters.
Honestly, even if he knew, he wouldn’t care either. He didn’t kill the barbaric beasts for the villagers, he was only doing it for the Master Points and food.
Lu Chen strode forward quickly and soon arrived at his destination.
He didn’t plan to hide himself and cut down everything that was on his path. Be it the trees or vines, he chopped down all of them as long as they were obstructing him.
Just like that, Lu Chen pushed his way forward.
In reality, Lu Chen was also feeling helpless for doing it. After all, he wasn’t skilled in ambushing or setting up traps.
If he imitated the other hunters and used their way of hunting from the dark, it was extrely easy for him to be discovered by the prey and get ambushed by it instead.
After all, the beasts live in the wild. Their preying skills were definitely much better than Lu Chen.
Hence, Lu Chen disregarded all the hunting tactics and intentionally made a ruckus to lure the barbaric beast to him.
Of course, although he seed to be acting recklessly, he was not an idiot. While he was pushing forward, his attention was on his surroundings scanning for dangers.
But what made Lu Chen frowned deeply was his Intuition was alerting him for hidden dangers.
It was just around him, but it was moving quickly and frequently changing position. Thus, he was able to sense the danger he couldn’t track down the prey.
After soti, he arrived at the center of the forest and he suddenly stopped.
Then, he swung the tal sword and brought down the trees around him, clearing out a huge space in the center. After that, he stood in the center of the blank space and closed his eyes.
He was waiting for the beast to make its move.
My arrival has definitely garnered its attention. Unless it feels it was definitely no match to and planned to escape, it would surely take on any intruders that dare enter its territory.
Lu Chen thought and waited patiently.
One minute, two minutes, ten minutes, half an hour…
Soon, an hour gone by. Lu Chen couldn’t help but feel a hunt of helplessness standing on the sa spot.
Did it run? Sigh, what a pity. Who would thought I would co across such a cautious barbaric beast.
Lu Chen had thought about the possibility before but he didn’t have any detective skill to confirm his guess. He only has an Intuition that works sotis and he also didn’t have any displacent skills.
Therefore, he wouldn’t be able to stop the beasts from running.
Fortunately, I’m here to hunt the barbaric beasts for Mastery Points instead of a specific Barbarian Beast. Even if this made a run for its life, I can still move on and find another.
As he thought, Lu Chen left for his second destination with his tal sword.
I don’t believe the next one will also be so cautious and escape without a fight.
However, just as Lu Chen moved into the woods, a sharp noise could be heard from the top of his head.
Lu Chen looked up and noticed it was a jade-green giant praying mantis. It was waving its front limbs that were two-ters long and it was falling from the sky.
When he saw the barbs on its limbs and the target it was headed for, Lu Chen has no doubt he would die for sure if its attack had landed.
Surely enough, the barbaric beasts should not be underestimated. It had hidden for so long and launched an ambush when I decided to leave. Furthermore, it was fast in speed and its front limbs were incredibly sharp. All of this made you a reaper of death in the shadows. No wonder the village called you “Death Wing Mantis”.
At the instant the praying mantis lunged at him, Lu Chen thought a lot but the one thing he didn’t have was fear.
You sure are fast, and your attacks are hidden. In terms of speed and assassination, I’m never your match. But I have a crowd control skill with !
