New Event: Global Dungeons Daily Releases

"...Can we even hold on until then, eh?"

When I posed my question, Kiana-san's expression darkened.

"...The question is, how many can hold on until then......"

As the eerie buzzing noise reached our ears, the eastern sky took a shade of ash, as if soone had draped a grey cloth over it.

The ashen hue was non-uniform. The farthest was the greyest, and the closer you trail toward the center, the light its tone gets, until the eyes ultimately rest at the visage of conspicuous silhouette, a pure white existence.

It should be Beelzebubble, the King of Flies.

"The king's convoy is finally here, eh."

Parth, who had been leading the Temple of Trials, glared at the sky, his eyes narrowing. His usual playfulness was nowhere to be seen, and unsurprisingly so.

The swarm of flies was straight aiming for the Holy Land. The closer they distance beco, the louder irritating noise of buzzing gets, sparking the whole atmosphere.

"So, it's...... the king, huh. That's one hell of a size."

Behind Parth, Aerial, one of the captains of paladin's squad, murmured in a husky tone, his face muscles twitching as he glanced at Beelzebubble.

And soon, the King of Flies had closed to the point its repulsive appearance was visible to everyone. ...But, it didn't rush in. The King of Flies, leading the vanguard, stopped right on its track.

The minions swiftly pursued after their king's shilhoulette, but neither attempted to jump ahead of their king. A mass of water, purple in hue, was taking its shape over Beelzebubble's head.

The mana channelled in the mass of water—water bullet, was terrifying to the degree it made everyone's skin crawl. Within a blink of an eye, the water bullet had inflated to an enormous size.

Everyone—the Paladins, the Priests, the Monks—watched it in astonishnt alike, their instinct reminding them in unison. ...Ah, it was indeed a calamity.

It, the Beelzebubble, was absolutely an entity, a disaster, that wasn't ant to be opposed by the likes of humans. A many knelt in despair, and just then—

Beelzebubble shot the magic bullet. It went over Justine's head, who had been directing the Temple of Prayer, and crashed against the temple.

*BOOOOM*

An ear-splitting thunderous noise shook the entire they're in.

The section of the temple, a stone construct that was supposed to have incredible durability, was completely gouged out by just one attack.

The frontline who had been hoping to use the temple as their platform to fight guerilla warfare descended into chaos at once. Like flustered bees who had their nest shaken, people began to jump out of the building in panic.

The minions behind Beelzebubble imdiately swooped when they saw that.

"Hey, brat, how long till your secret shit or whatever is ready?! They're not even going to last for thirty minutes without our help!"

The frontline was all but collapsed by the king's greeting.

......My fear had co true.

In the stone quarry of Dragreid, I had witnessed Steinberg's magical bullet up close. I knew from my experience an absolute majority would undoubtedly cave-in to despair as soon they face an attack of that class.

It was even more so they'd been roped in the situation unwittingly, with no personal stake of them. Of course, there was nowhere to escape as well, but those who had just wanted to flee away could hardly be a soldier.

There must be so hope for them to cling on, to allow them to re-group. A hope that they'd have a chance against the King.

I shook my head at the Master's question, and re-routed my entire concentration to wait for the mont.

I wouldn't get the sa chance again and again. So I would like to settle it in one single move. And then, just as the King about to flew over the Tower of Genesis, where we had lie in wait—

"Haaaaaaa!”

I unleashed the mana I was gathering at once, and invoked my wind magic. As soon as I did so, the King of Flies fell from the sky.

"Ahaha! I was waiting for you to say that!"

It was during the briefing over how to intercept the King with other mbers of the knight.

I abruptly revealed there was actually a secret plan, and this was the reaction from Parth-san.

"Now that's the Allen I knew! So, what's this secret plan of yours?"

Justine-senpai inquired with sparkling curiosity. I struggled for a mont on how to convey my thoughts precisely, and decided to give it a try.

"The King of Flies is a kind of creature...... which shouldn't have been able to fly."

Everyone gave 'what the heck is he saying?' glances, so I added further.

"To go into details, the King of Flies was at least ten tres in length. Its wings alone are five ter in length. By logic, an insect this huge should... not be able to fly just by flapping its wings."

They glanced at each other when I tried to explain. The first response ca from Dante-san who had a wry smile. He shrugged his shoulders, and remarked.

"So you say, but... there are records of it being able to fly even in modern archives. You have seen its minions being able to fly as well."

He wasn't wrong. It's flying.

This reminded of a certain topic from Earth. It was called "Bumblebee Paradox."

As airplanes began to take flight in the open sky, and the deeper the research on aerodynamics progressed, a certain question had troubled the minds of scientists. Through its weight, and wingspan, the bumblebee should have been unable to generate enough dynamic force... in other words, in theory, it should've been unable to fly.

But, the reality says otherwise. And this was the Bumblebee Paradox.

The researchers continued to dig up the cause, and eventually, they discovered so special insects, including Bumblebee, utilised a different principle than just dynamic force. Through their intricate design of wings, they instead generate a swirl of air, and then fly using the pulling force of that swirl, resolving the paradox.

Anyway, the King of Flies shouldn't be able to fly even if there were so other principles unknown. Why? Well, for first, if it was capable of flying because it could flap its wings hundreds of tis within a matter of seconds like certain insects, then we would have another grave problem at hand. The shockwaves.

When moving at a speed that exceeds the speed of sound, it generated a shockwave called Sonic Boom. And this force was absolutely strong. For reference, the shockwaves produced by the fall of a teorite held enough destructive force to throw humans like they're made of paper, blast away the doors, and shatter the windows even from tens of kiloters apart.

This was the crux in the assumption. If King of Flies was indeed capable of flapping its five-ter long wings at the rate of 200 cycle per second, then there's no doubt it had breached that sound barrier.

However, if I assu this theory, then it should be noted that the King's nest would be destroyed imdiately as soon it ca out of its nest, or the minions around would turn into mince at. And furthermore, since its body hadn't grown like the supersonic planes, the damage to its body while flying at that speed would also be disastrous to itself.

It was just my rough estimation, but the damage would be beyond salvageable. The wings in itself would blow into smithereens at that impact. To avoid that, the other option remained to flight was keeping its speed below the threshold of sound barrier, which ant it must use dynamic force that it was incapable of.

Yet, Beelzebubble was known to fly.

......I knew just one example that perfectly explained it, and could resolve this paradox of this world. My assumption had turned into conviction when I saw the adult fly flying inside the tower.

"......It's absolutely impossible for the King of Flies to be capable of flying with the force of its wings alone. I dare say, the Beelzebubble is—"

"Haaaaaaa! O' King of Flies! I knew it! You. You have been flying using wind magic to amplify the dynamic force!"
