Xu Weiran imdiately realized sothing was wrong. He quickly grabbed her wrist to check, only to find that both her wrists were swollen, covered in blood marks left by rope friction.
"Does it hurt?"
Xu Weiran looked at the wounds on her wrists, his thin lips tightly pressed together, his deep eyes seemingly hiding a great storm.
Sheng Ning’an shook her head.
Before he appeared, she was only thinking about how to escape, so she didn’t even feel the pain in her wrists.
It was only just now, when he touched her, that she started feeling a burning pain. But she didn’t want him to worry, so Sheng Ning’an endured it without saying anything.
"I’m sorry!" Xu Weiran said.
He knew she was working late, and he should have picked her up.
On the way here, he had thought about a lot.
Thoughts about their past, thoughts about their future together.
The only thing he dared not think about was what he would do if sothing happened to her.
"I’m fine!" Sheng Ning’an sensed his unease and guilt, and with a reassuring smile, said to him, "It’s just that I was too hasty when untying the ropes and scraped my skin a bit. Don’t worry."
"Xu Weiran, I’m really okay. Look, I’m perfectly fine!" She hadn’t finished speaking when Xu Weiran pulled her back into a tight hug.
He held her so tightly, as if afraid he would lose her if he loosened his grip.
After a long mont to collect himself, he let her go and said, "It’s good that you’re okay." After saying that, he carefully held her hand and led her out.
As they walked out, Sheng Ning’an looked back and realized it was an abandoned warehouse.
Outside the warehouse was a scrapped vehicle, covered in rust, indicating it had been neglected for a long ti. The surroundings were filled with junk, with no signs of human life.
Had it not been for seeing it with her own eyes, Sheng Ning’an could hardly imagine that such a place could exist in Jing City, where land is so precious.
If Xu Weiran hadn’t reported it in ti, it really would have been hard to find.
Sheng Ning’an was taken to the police car to make a statent.
The officer asked her about the events leading to her disappearance.
Sheng Ning’an told them about her car’s insufficient tire pressure, getting out to check, and waking up in the garage after being knocked out.
The officer inford her that soone had likely tampered with her car in advance, implying this was a preditated kidnapping.
However, since there were no caras at the scene, and the van that took her away had fake plates, it might be so ti before they could identify the kidnappers.
The police completed the statent and said, "Judging by their actions, they probably didn’t intend to harm you, just wanted to scare you. Miss Sheng, think carefully, have you offended anyone recently?"
So this wasn’t about money, but revenge?
Sheng Ning’an frowned slightly. She was either at work or on the way to work; if she had offended anyone recently, it was just one person.
Sheng Ning’an shared her suspicions with the police.
The police said they would investigate thoroughly and would contact her once they had results.
After finishing the statent, the officer took Sheng Ning’an to a nearby hospital.
Once her wrist injuries were treated, they returned to their place, and it was already past two in the morning.
"I ran you a bath, take a quick hot bath and get a good sleep," Xu Weiran said, kissing her forehead.
After Sheng Ning’an finished her bath and ca out, she found Xu Weiran still awake, cooking sothing in the kitchen.
Sheng Ning’an walked over and hugged him from behind.
