The others couldn’t help but look at each other when they heard that.
Could the minister be scolding Shi Yue?
On the other side, Shi Yue walked over to Sheng Ning’an and her group, "What a coincidence, you guys are here for barbecue too?" Knowing the departnt mbers were watching, Shi Yue tried hard to sound relaxed and familiar, "If I had known you were coming here too, I would’ve joined you."
Sheng Ning’an looked up, glanced at her indifferently, not sure what act Shi Yue was putting on this ti. Then she glanced at the direction of the publicity departnt’s group and could guess sothing.
However, she didn’t plan to cooperate and directly picked up a drink beside her, handed it to Xu Weiran, and said, "Help open this."
From beginning to end, there was no intention to acknowledge Shi Yue.
The expression on Shi Yue’s face gradually turned ugly; she felt Sheng Ning’an was deliberately opposing her.
However, considering that the mbers of the publicity departnt were still watching, she restrained herself from losing her temper.
It was Tian Yu and Xue Xian who sensed the awkward atmosphere and awkwardly broke the ice, "Yeah, what a coincidence! You guys are here for barbecue too?"
Since the treat was from Sheng Ning’an, they couldn’t take it upon themselves to invite the other side to sit down and could only exchange pleasantries.
Shi Yue was fuming inside but still forced herself to say, "Our minister knows you are my roommates and wants to invite you over, do you want to co and sit with us?"
"Um, no need, we don’t know anyone from your departnt."
"Yes, yes, thank you to your minister and colleagues from your departnt, but we won’t be going over."
Although Tian Yu and Xue Xian weren’t exactly socially anxious, the other side had so many unfamiliar people, and it seed unnecessary to force themselves into that crowd. Moreover, with An’an clearly not going, how could the two of them just go over?
"Alright then!" Shi Yue knew well that the minister really wanted to invite Sheng Ning’an. Given their relationship, no matter how much she said, Sheng Ning’an would not co over. Unwilling to stay longer, seeing they disagreed to join them, she turned and went back to her departnt.
But not before she gave Sheng Ning’an a cold glance, not worried about being seen by the publicity departnt mbers since she had her back to them.
"Sorry, my roommates are shy; they felt embarrassed to co over."
"It’s alright!" The publicity minister wasn’t at all surprised she’d co back alone. They had already noticed her poor relationship with her roommates, just wanting to test their guess and give her a bit of embarrassnt.
Turns out their assumption was spot on, not off by a bit.
After finishing their barbecue, Sheng Ning’an and her group left first.
Due to having more people, the Student Union stayed later. By the ti Shi Yue returned to the dorm, the others had already washed up and were ready for bed.
When Shi Yue ca back, her face didn’t look good. When the minister targeted her before, they still sowhat disguised it with work arrangents, but tonight it was blatant.
During that ti, drinks were ordered for everyone else, but Shi Yue was left out, with the excuse that she just wasn’t there and was forgotten.
Everyone in the Student Union were insightful people; they easily noticed the issue, and their attitude towards Shi Yue turned distant.
Everyone was keen to keep their distance from her, afraid to upset the minister.
Shi Yue clearly knew the minister was deliberately targeting her, yet she could only smile and say it didn’t matter, pretending not to care, and forced herself to stay till the end...
God knows how agonizing this evening was for her!
And all of this was because of Sheng Ning’an.
