After finishing the dumplings, Ning An took him to et her maternal grandparents next door. The elderly couple had already heard about him from their great-granddaughter. Unexpectedly eting him in person, they were delighted and showered him with praises.
Xu Weiran, being handso, naturally had an advantage, and his sweet talk had the elderly couple chuckling happily.
When leaving, the elderly couple showed evident reluctance.
The Sheng and Shen families still had to go back to the countryside to visit relatives, leaving Ning An to stay and accompany Xu Weiran.

Xu Weiran stretched out his hand, took hers, and said, “Even though I didn’t know you from birth, rest assured, I’ll be there for you for the rest of our days. I will protect you just as Uncle protected Aunt.”
His vow was indeed very touching, but…
Ning An looked at him and said, “Those are pretty words, but do you have the ti? What about your experints? Your thesis, your research, are you giving all that up?” It was hard for them to even see each other every day, let alone talk about being together and providing protection.
“I’m sorry!”
Xu Weiran obviously realized that he indeed spent very little ti with her.
Saying so much, if it couldn’t be done, then it was all just empty talk.
It was no different from writing a bad check.
“Don’t worry, I will try to carve out more ti to spend with you.” It would be great if this girl would agree to move out and live together. At least that way, they could see each other every day.
