The apartnt the agent introduced to Xu Weiran was just a five-minute walk from the university.
Although the complex was sowhat old, the internal landscaping and maintenance were still well done, and its proximity to the university ant it never lacked tenants.
When Sheng Ning’an arrived, she heard the agent telling Xu Weiran, "The place has full utilities, convenient transportation, and most importantly, it’s close to the school—just a few steps away. You know, this location is always in demand. It’s fortunate that the previous tenant just moved out. As soon as I heard you were looking for a place, I imdiately brought you here. If you like it, you should decide quickly, or it might be gone soon."
Xu Weiran was about to speak when he saw her and waved her over, saying, "Co take a look, what do you think about this place?"
Seeing Sheng Ning’an, the agent imdiately said with a smile, "A young couple lived here previously, but they just moved out after graduating."
Sheng Ning’an knew at once that the agent had misunderstood, thinking she was planning to move out and cohabit with Xu Weiran.

The previous tenant must have taken good care of it, as the room was nicely arranged and looked very cozy.

Xu Weiran replied, "I think you’re right, moving out isn’t bad. It’s close to the lab, convenient for going to and from work, and I won’t have to be dragged to blind dates by my mom."
Then he looked at the agent and said, "Let’s take this place!"
He signed the contract and paid the deposit on the spot.
The agent also left him the keys, telling him he could move in anyti.
As for the rent, one month’s deposit and three months’ advance paynt, minus the deposit already paid, was to be transferred directly to the landlord later.
After the agent handed over the keys, he left, leaving Sheng Ning’an and Xu Weiran alone to look over the apartnt.
The apartnt had two bedrooms and one living room, not very large, but the kitchen and bathroom had everything necessary. The previous tenants must have been quite decent since the place was well-maintained and furnished, just a simple tidy up was needed before moving in.
Xu Weiran turned to Sheng Ning’an, "Are you free this afternoon?"
"What’s up?" Sheng Ning’an asked.
"Accompany to buy so stuff," Xu Weiran said.
Sheng Ning’an nodded, "Sure!"
To her surprise, Xu Weiran actually drove her to the ho furnishings market.
Sheng Ning’an looked at him suspiciously, "You want to buy furniture? But doesn’t that place already have everything?"
"I’m worried soone might not be comfortable with old furniture!"
He hadn’t forgotten that the first ti they t, this girl had refused to touch the door because she thought it was too dirty, standing at the doorway for half an eternity.
If she was unwilling to even touch a door that others had handled, let alone use sothing others had used.
Sheng Ning’an almost instantly realized who that ’soone’ was.
"Ahem!" She coughed awkwardly, saying, "It’s you living there, not , so whether I’m comfortable with it or not shouldn’t really matter, should it?"
Xu Weiran gave her a aningful look and said, "Who says it doesn’t matter? It’s living there now, but who knows about the future?"

Xu Weiran laughed and said, "What I an is, you’re my girlfriend, and you’ll eventually spend ti at my place. What if you don’t like it and stop coming over?"
That explanation might as well have been no explanation at all.
