Chapter 565: Chapter 565 [Extra] Spring Heart Fluttering
The deskmate couldn’t help but shake his head and said, “What exactly is she after? Knowing she can’t win the argunt, yet she insists on stirring trouble for herself; I really don’t know what’s going through her mind.”
Sheng Ning’an: “This must be what jealousy does to people, completely blinds them and distorts their appearance!”
“Pfft—, you’re right!”
Li ngtao was so annoyed she gritted her teeth, yet she could do nothing to the other party – she couldn’t outtalk or beat her.
All she could do was grit her teeth so hard, wishing she could poke two holes through her with her glare.
Sheng Ning’an didn’t care about the other party, instead, she sneakily took out her phone and sent Xu Weiran a ssage, “I’ve encountered the girl you were set up with, she’s now interning in our class, teaching us English. She wouldn’t take revenge on in secret, would she?”
After all, she had really embarrassed the other party last ti. If it were her, she would definitely hold a grudge.
Unable to take revenge on that guy, it was possible she might take it out on her instead.
On the other side of the phone, Xu Weiran couldn’t help but laugh when he saw her ssage: “What, scared? Aren’t you fearless? An intern teacher has got you all spooked?”
Sheng Ning’an: “I just don’t want any trouble.”
“Don’t worry, if she really troubles you, I’ll handle it,” Xu Weiran replied.
“Okay!” His word was enough for her.
“Ran, you’ve been acting odd lately! Is sothing up?” A colleague next to him saw him holding his phone with a smile and couldn’t resist teasing him.
“Don’t talk nonsense, what could be up with ?” Xu Weiran put away his phone.
The colleague raised an eyebrow at him: “I’ve noticed you’re always on your phone lately, smiling like you’re head over heels. Could it be that you have a girlfriend now? Did it work out with the girl your mom set you up with last ti?”
“Yeah, how did it go with that girl last ti? Is she pretty?”
“With Weiran’s looks, could the girl he ets be anything but great? He wouldn’t be introduced to soone if they weren’t sowhat handso themselves.”
“You make a good point!”
Xu Weiran’s mom loved setting him up on dates, and this was no secret in their laboratory.
He was probably the first to get marriage pressure from his family in his early twenties, a frequent joke among his colleagues.
“Nonsense, don’t start rumors,” Xu Weiran said with a laugh and a swat.
Many in the laboratory were ntored by the sa adviser, forming a good bond as fellow disciples.
Xu Weiran and Sheng Yeli were among the youngest in the laboratory, with others being at least in their late twenties.
Because of his likable nature and way with words, he easily fit in with everyone.
Sitting in the laboratory all day, they had few opportunities to et girls, so there were quite a few older unmarried n among his colleagues.
While they teased him, they also envied him.
Mainly because he was good-looking — even without arranged dates, he had plenty of girls chasing him.
The others were different. Although working in the laboratory might sound impressive, not everyone could sell patents, and just relying on laboratory inco was significantly less than what the big companies paid. Moreover, the laboratory was incredibly busy, often requiring late nights and overti, and it was normal to stay in the laboratory for a week or two at a stretch. Usually, they hardly had ti to date, and most blind dates would fizzle out after a few etings.
Even if the blind date was successful, it wouldn’t be long before the woman would break up due to being unable to tolerate it.
After all, they didn’t have the face that could keep a girl interested!
