Shen Zhaozhao, with her backpack on, walked out of the dormitory building, holding her phone which showed an ongoing call. Sheng Chuyi’s voice was coming through her Bluetooth headset.
“I can’t today, I have plans with Ye Zhen. Can you tell Aunt Suxin and Uncle Sheng for ? I’ll visit them later,” Shen Zhaozhao said.
On the eve of the college entrance exam, Ye Zhen’s foster father was assaulted by debt collectors and ended up in the ICU. She missed her exams as she stayed by his side in the hospital, and now she was repeating her final year at Jiu Middle School.
Moreover, since she had missed the exams without prior notice, the Ye Family was displeased with her. Additionally, with Ye Wei’an getting into Jing University, the comparison made them look down even more on Ye Zhen who was repeating the year. By now, she had moved out of the Ye Family’s house.
“Do you want to co with you?” asked Sheng Chuyi, who was also exiting the dormitory.
“No need; it’s just a girls’ outing. Why don’t you organize sothing with Zhou Huaiyu and Gu Chengzhou? It’s been a while since you all t. Tomorrow, we can all visit Aunt Suxin and Uncle Sheng together and maybe stay for dinner.”
Sheng Chuyi said, “That might not work; my parents are probably already on a plane going on vacation abroad. You won’t see them until the vacation ends. But if you want to eat sothing, I can cook for you.”
“What? Why didn’t you go with them?”
Sheng Chuyi replied, “I wanted to stay and keep my girlfriend company, but it seems she doesn’t need .”
“Sorry, tomorrow, I’ll definitely spend ti with you,” Shen Zhaozhao said in a soft voice.
“Alright, I was just teasing you. Have fun and stay safe,” Sheng Chuyi urged.
“Got it! I have to go now, the car’s here, bye!” Shen Zhaozhao quickly ended the call.
Sheng Chuyi looked at the phone and couldn’t help but smile.
The taxi stopped at the gate of the orphanage, and just as Shen Zhaozhao got out, she heard the roar of a motorcycle.
Turning around, she saw a motorcycle approaching from a distance, smoothly stopping in front of her. The rider took off the helt, revealing the familiar face of Ye Zhen.
Clad in a black leather jacket and pants, she looked even more striking.
Shen Zhaozhao felt that Ye Zhen, having left the Ye Family, seed like a completely different person.
Shen Zhaozhao looked at her earnestly and asked, “Is this your bike?”
“Yep, what do you think?” Ye Zhen asked with a smile.
“It’s super cool!” Shen Zhaozhao’s eyes sparkled with excitent. She had only seen cool bikers in TV shows and comics before, never imagining a girl could look so cool on a motorcycle.
“I’ll take you for a ride later,” Ye Zhen said as she hung her helt on the handlebar and got off the bike with a stylish move.
“Sure!” Shen Zhaozhao responded with a laugh.
She had never ridden in such a cool vehicle before.
The two, just like old tis, distributed the things they had brought to the children and stayed at the orphanage for a while before leaving.
Before leaving, Shen Zhaozhao transferred the money from Yu Zhi and her roommates to Director Mother, telling her that it was a gesture from her roommates and to use it to buy sothing to eat for the children.
Upon leaving the orphanage, Ye Zhen looked at her and said, “It seems you’re getting along well with your new roommates.”
Shen Zhaozhao smiled and replied, “Yes, they are really nice people. By the way, since you moved out from the Ye Family, where are you staying now?”
Ye Zhen said, “I rented a new place and now live with my foster father.”
“By the way, how is your foster father doing?”
“He’s clinging to life for now and isn’t gone yet!” Though Ye Zhen had mixed feelings of love and resentnt towards her foster father, despising his lack of grit, he was still the man who had raised her all these years.
Since her foster father had not abandoned her, she naturally would not give up on him now.
