"I’m singing this song for you, without any particular style, it simply represents that I hope you’re happy..."

Qin Guanglin humd the song as he went upstairs. Upon opening the door, he didn’t see He Fang’s figure. He looked around, took out his mobile phone, and made a call.

"Where has my girlfriend gone?"

"I’m out with roommates shopping, I’ll be back in the afternoon," He Fang picked up quickly, "have you returned? Have you eaten yet?"

"Not yet, I’m starving... You go ahead and shop, just don’t be too late, I’ll find sothing to eat."

"I know, there’s still so food from noon in the fridge, just reheat it, and if that’s not enough..."

"Yeah, yeah, got it, I see it, hanging up now." Qin Guanglin had already opened the fridge, seen the few dishes wrapped in cling film, continued to hum the tune and took them out, then went to the kitchen to see how much rice was left.

Even though it was leftovers and needed reheating, it was still more comfortable than going out for fast food.

In the milk tea shop, Zhou Nan took a sip of her milk tea and, seeing He Fang hang up the phone, asked, "Your boyfriend?"

"Yeah."

"You left food in the fridge... Sounds like you two are living together?" Zhou Nan was sowhat shocked.

It had been a long ti since she had seen He Fang, and now they were catching up during the holiday, she hadn’t expected such... explosive news.

With others, it would be normal, but with He Fang, whom she had spent four years with day and night at university, Zhou Nan could never have imagined it.

During their school days, He Fang had always been the embodint of abstinence in the dormitory. Zhou Nan herself would occasionally engage in so raunchy conversations with the other "kings of filth," but He Fang never took part, only suddenly changing after getting a boyfriend — usually fine, but in the two months nearing graduation, even Chen Yan couldn’t handle her once she got going.

Now, less than a year after graduation, they were already cohabiting.

Absolutely shocking.

"What’s so strange about it, we’ve been living together for a while now," He Fang couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction, "Didn’t expect that?"

"It’s all happened so fast... Are you preparing to get married or what?"

"Who says living together ans getting married?" He Fang teased her purposely.

"Not getting married?!"

Zhou Nan clicked her tongue, leaned forward, and turned He Fang’s face left and right to examine it, "Haven’t you been possessed by sothing? Where’s my He Fang? Bring her back!"

"Co on, just drink your milk tea, stop making a fuss."

He Fang laughed and waved away her hand, seeing her bite her straw and still eyeing her, she shook her head, "Ah, I’m just teasing you, of course we’re planning to get married. Otherwise, why would we be living together? Think about it with that little brain of yours, is it possible?"

Zhou Nan still eyed her with disbelief, "When are you getting married?"

"Haven’t decided yet, let’s date for a year or two first."

"..."

After a while, Zhou Nan sighed and then looked around stealthily, leaning in closer, she whispered, "I want to ask you sothing."

"What mysterious thing do you want to ask?"

"It’s about... how long after you were dating your boyfriend did you guys... you know?" Zhou Nan’s asked, her ears turning hot, she sneaked a glance at He Fang and then lowered her head to sip her milk tea.

"Ha, I thought it was sothing serious, just this?" He Fang smiled and mimicked her by looking around, whispering, "A little over half a year."

"Didn’t expect that, didn’t expect that," Zhou Nan whispered in amazent, "Turns out you’re the steamiest one in our dorm."

"Go on, what kind of language is that?" He Fang pinched her face, "And you? Why are you asking this? Planning to give yourself away?"

"No way, of course not."

Zhou Nan imdiately denied it, biting her straw in silence for a while, then she sneaked closer again, whispering, "Do n really think about ’that’ all the ti?"

"You, my girl, are up to sothing."

"...No."

"Hmm, you think you can fool ?" He Fang glanced at her askance, then suddenly chuckled and whispered, "Not just n, once you’ve tried it, you’ll think about it every day."

"Ptui, you’re such a hooligan." Zhou Nan spat at her and touched her hot cheeks, deciding not to ask her anymore.

"What’s really going on?"

He Fang looked more and more curious, thought deeply, then hazarded a guess, "Your boyfriend wants to..."

"Not at all! Don’t talk nonsense!"

Zhou Nan hurriedly interrupted her, looked around, and after hesitating for a mont, whispered, "Ever since I brought him ho once and he t my family, he’s been wanting to get handsy with ... It makes feel uneasy."

"Huh? Soone dares to get handsy with you? Didn’t you pick him up and smack him?"

"..."

"Alright, stop joking. What’s making you feel uneasy?" He Fang stopped teasing her upon seeing her conflicted expression.

"I... I just feel uneasy inside."

"Afraid he’s only lusting after your body? That he’ll play you and then run off?"

He Fang’s blunt words made Zhou Nan’s face redden, and she turned her head away awkwardly.

"Have you hit him before?"

"No." Zhou Nan shook her head, hesitated, and then nodded, "But... he’s so weak. I accidentally knocked him to the ground while struggling... That doesn’t count as hitting, right? It wasn’t on purpose; it’s his fault for trying to touch ..."

"..."

He Fang was speechless. Even if the guy was weak, he was still a man. What does "accidentally" even an?

Poor kid...

"n are just lecherous by nature; it’s normal. If he’s still acting like a gentleman after eting your parents, not even hugging or kissing you, then you’d really need to worry that he might have ulterior motives, like being gay to trick you into marriage..."

"Is that so?" Zhou Nan grew anxious.

Although she had been influenced quite a bit by her dorm mates at school, once she actually started dating, she realized everything was different.

...

It was terrifying.

"Is there any way to test whether he really likes or not?" Zhou Nan asked.

"Don’t test each other in relationships—absolutely not," He Fang advised seriously. "Definitely don’t set up any tests; that would be even worse than if you beat him up."

"..."

"But you can play so little gas. Like... um... ask him to stare into your eyes for ten seconds. If he kisses you, it ans he really likes you—although it’s not absolute. My boyfriend never kissed , but I could see in his eyes that he cared. You can give it a try if you’re bored."

"Oh..."

"You really don’t need to do any of that. If he hasn’t broken up with you after you’ve thrown him to the ground, that’s true love," He Fang laughed. "Did he ever argue with you?"

"We’ve almost had a few argunts, but they never happened because as soon as I clench my fists... " Zhou Nan sheepishly cracked her knuckles with a ’crack crack’ sound. "He seems really scared of that..."

"...

I’d be scared too. You’re not gearing up for an argunt; that looks like you’re getting ready for a fight."

A wonder they could argue at all unless the guy had a death wish.

It was a wonder these two got together at all.

He Fang mused internally, certain that she’d never have believed they could make it if she didn’t know they would last until the end.

If it weren’t for them, she and Qin Guanglin would never have t.
