Gordon Sterling took off his coat to dry Sean Lowell, soaked from head to toe.
Artie Vaughn was a bit startled by Gordon’s booming voice.
She looked around, only to confirm that the person Gordon was calling an ambulance for was the sa one she had just drenched with water.
Using water to wake soone who’s passed out drunk isn’t standard procedure, right?
Why call an ambulance?
Artie’s rebellious heart quickly turned timid.
Did that man who craves fa have sothing wrong with him?
If there was a problem, why were her brother and the chubby broadcaster standing outside chatting just now?
Artie was so scared she didn’t know what to do; she liked to think of herself as rebellious, but had never been truly so.
She did splash Sean Lowell with tea, but she checked the temperature before pouring it out.
For sure, definitely, certainly, it wasn’t boiling water.
There’s no way soone could be sent to the hospital from just one splash.
At most, it’s just uncomfortable being wet.
Can’t he just change his clothes?
He’s a grown man, surely he can’t be that fragile?
At this thought, The Devilish Lolita’s eyes reddened with urgency, seeking help from Leo Vaughn, who arrived just a step behind Gordon: "What do I do, brother? Did I, Artie, cause trouble?"
Artie liked to play the boss and often staged noisy but harmless "boss rages", but had never genuinely sent soone to the hospital.
"Don’t worry, don’t be scared, your big brother is here. I’ll call, you go ho and rest; I’ll find you after I handle this," Leo consoled his sister while drying Sean.
Leo always reassured Artie with, "Don’t worry, your brother’s here," a habit he’d picked up since he was three.
So what if he was only five minutes older than Artie?
Five minutes older still makes him her bona fide big brother.
Accommodating, doting on, revolving around, and yielding to his sister are Leo’s unyielding life principles.
"Are you a goddess or a basket case? Can you cry elsewhere?" Gordon was far less gentle and gentlemanly with Artie than Leo was.
This top-tier satirist, famous for his scathing comntary on Sean Lowell’s miserable love life, is actually Sean’s closest friend out of all their classmates.
Leo was able to get Sean to support Winters Spirits’ annual event thanks to Gordon’s networking.
Sean gave his one public appearance of the year to his narcissistic, sharp-tongued yet kind-hearted overweight roommate, clearly reflecting their close relationship.
Gordon’s taste in beauty has always been unique. While others might hesitate to criticize a beautiful woman, he wouldn’t hesitate to flip out: "If you can’t call an ambulance, just get lost!"
Artie has never been one to take insults lying down; how could she not retort when being scolded like this: "Hey, I splashed water, not acid. Why are you being so an?"
Artie realized her impulsive behavior might have been excessive, but it was a minor mistake, so why blow it out of proportion and embarrass her?
Sean Lowell coughed lightly, finally showing signs of slowly waking up.
The mont Sean opened his eyes, the dark clouds hanging over Artie’s world suddenly disappeared.
Not because of the man’s strikingly handso looks or his deep, jade-like eyes—it was purely because he didn’t die from her two pots of water.
What ambulance, hmph! Hmph hmph! Hmph hmph hmph!
"Why didn’t you keep on playing dead until you really died?" This was Artie’s ’hello’ to Sean Lowell.
If every eting was like the first, I’d eat instant noodles for every al!
From outside the soundproof glass room, you could see inside, but not the other way around.
Even though Artie had been staring fiercely at Sean from outside the locked room for a long ti, for Sean, this was the first glance.
However, that glance didn’t leave Sean with any stunning impression.
He had just opened his eyes; the alcohol hadn’t completely worn off yet, and he didn’t know what had happened in the world.
He was just happy to have finally found the tiny silhouette he missed so much in his dream; why did soone have to wake him up?
Artie gave her ’greeting’ to Sean, but didn’t say anything more to Gordon; she wasn’t mad at Gordon because he’d been an to her.
The Pouting Siren was always generous, never counting personal losses.
But the man who faked being asleep to the point of needing an ambulance was different, as he just had to pick on Sumr’s family Whiskey!
Leo stopped Artie before she could continue to "vent": "Alright, stop it now. Your brother called an ambulance; Master Sean Lowell can’t catch a cold."
Artie’s tears, which she could still hold back earlier, now broke free completely: "What the heck! Master Sean Lowell can’t catch a cold? But brother, you said Winters Ambassadors can’t cry!"
Huh? Isn’t he prone to the water-splash-induced-death syndro?
Huh? Excuse ! Afraid of catching a cold?
Huh? Is this really enough to warrant calling an ambulance?
The 36D Pouting Siren almost got angry enough to transform into an F!
This ti, Artie was mad at Leo: "Brother, you only tell not to act out, but why don’t you say anything to this so-called master who claims Sumr Fairmont’s Whiskey is trying to kill him?"
Since when did brother join forces with these people, all colluding together?
Uh, seems like I might have used the wrong idiom there.
But still, but still, isn’t it just too unfair?
The Pouting Siren, wearing ten-centiter red heels, swept out of the soundproof glass room like a gust of wind.
"Sumr Fairmont? Whiskey?" Sean Lowell, slowly awakening, with water dripping from his head, wore a puzzled expression on his face.
