Artie sent a ssage to Sean Lowell just to show that she had obtained Master Sean Lowell’s phone number, making future contact convenient.
Unexpectedly, Sean Lowell replied imdiately, even calling directly: "Sumr’s missing? What happened?"
"Ah, it’s just... well, Sumr’s not at ho, not answering her phone, and it’s turned off. Sumr never does this." Artie was so nervous she was almost incoherent:
"Artie just sent a text to let you know, Master’s agent said you guys only returned this morning. So Master Sean Lowell, please get so rest first, while my brother and I go look for Sumr. In that case, we won’t be able to join you for breakfast later, okay?"
"Isn’t Sumr living with you?" This was sothing confird when Sean Lowell was having king crab.
"Sort of, not exactly. Sumr lives about 200 ters away from , though she often stays over to keep company. Artie just wanted to ask what ti Sumr dropped you guys off at the hotel yesterday?" Artie was still trying to figure things out after being hit by Gordon Sterling’s wake-up grumpiness.
Artie, based on years of experience with Sumr Fairmont, figured Sumr would definitely have sent Sean Lowell and Gordon Sterling back to the hotel.
Sumr is a very considerate and thoughtful person.
Considerate to the point where Artie didn’t even need to think or speak for everything to be perfectly arranged.
"Sumr took us to the area near Brunschwig Distillery yesterday, then went into the old castle alone. Gordon and I haven’t seen Sumr since. Could she still be in the distillery?" Sean’s tone was anxious, tinged with worry.
This wasn’t very "Master" like.
Initially, convinced that Sumr would be okay, Artie, who was just scaring herself, instantly started panicking again in sync with Sean.
"That old, long-abandoned factory has been uninhabited for many years." The Rhyming Siren’s appearance highlighted Artie’s overly complicated inner world at that mont.
There was delight in Sean Lowell imdiately calling her after receiving a text.
And frustration, even a hint of anger, at Sean and Gordon leaving Sumr to enter the old castle alone: "How could you two guys just ignore her? If Artie hadn’t known you were with her, she would never have allowed Sumr to return alone to a place not fit for human habitation!"
Brunschwig Distillery had fallen into disrepair since its closure, with no one living there for years.
Hieronymus spent his last years in a nursing ho, not in the ancestral castle.
Hieronymus’s twilight years were not bleak.
It was a very well-appointed nursing facility.
From birth, Hieronymus’s life was well-arranged for him.
This wasn’t solely due to the United Kingdom’s disability benefits, but more so because, at the ti of Hieronymus’s birth, the Brunschwig Family had not yet declined.
Facing a child born with defects, Hieronymus’s parents had arranged every detail of his future life early on.
Even after the distillery shut down, there were no issues with Hieronymus’s dical care and subsequent needs.
This legacy doesn’t necessarily manifest directly as cash or bonds, yet it best reflects the Brunschwig Family’s ancient heritage, much like how Sumr Fairmont, even after the family’s decline, could still attend a prestigious school.
When Artie received the bottle she brought back ho, which was later contaminated by disinfectant, she had already experienced the "charm" of the distillery, which had been closed for thirty-seven years.
It was the kind of place where she wouldn’t dare enter even if standing at the entrance, suitable only for soone like Sheriff Frederick, who loved adventure from a young age and later turned it into his career.
It was the first ti Artie had felt such a complex mix of emotions.
She had always been action-oriented, crying when she wanted, laughing when she wanted, swearing when she wanted, and being coy when she felt like it.
But today’s feeling of not knowing whether to cry, laugh, curse, or be coy was indeed indescribable.
This wasn’t very Artie-like.
"It was thoughtless of ; I’ll head back to the Brunschwig Distillery imdiately to check."
When Sean Lowell admitted his thoughtlessness, Gordon Sterling wasn’t beside him.
If he were, Gordo’s explosive temper would have undoubtedly erupted.
