“All these people are getting busy, I thought soone important was here. Turns out it’s just you.” The elderly woman who just spoke had neatly combed silver hair. Dressed in a well-tailored qipao, she looked elegant yet serious.
This woman was Ruan Zeyan’s grandmother, old Mrs. Ruan.
“Grandma!” Seeing Old Mrs. Ruan, Guan iyi put down the tea and stood up. The expression on her face was a mix between attentiveness and defense.

“Mom, what are you doing here?” Ruan Zeyan’s mother Wang Yazhi asked as she hurried over.
Guan iyi felt a great sense of relief after seeing Wang Yazhi. She really didn’t want to face Mrs. Ruan alone.
The old woman glared at Wang Yazhi, “This is the Ruan Family ho, do I have to ask for your permission to go anywhere?”
Wang Yazhi’s face clouded, “Of course not. I was just asking.”
“Hmm!” grumbled old Mrs. Ruan as she sat straight down on the couch.
Seeing that the old lady was not leaving, Wang Yazhi smiled at Guan iyi apologetically and asked the servant, “Is Zeyan ho?”
“Yes, the young master is ho.”
Wang Yazhi nodded, “Tell him to co over. iyi is here.”
After saying that, Wang Yazhi looked at Guan iyi and thought to herself, “This young lady must love her son dearly, otherwise why would she co over all the ti to spend ti with a middle-aged woman?”
In Wang Yazhi’s mind, Guan iyi was perfect in every way.
Guan iyi blushed like a little girl and lowered her head when she saw the way Wang Yazhi was looking at her.
Just as Wang Yazhi returned a smile, old Mrs. Ruan sneered at them again, “Don’t expect much, my grandson doesn’t have the ti.” She was mocking Guan iyi who was waited for Ruan Zeyan so expectantly.
“Mom!” Wang Yazhi knew that her mother-in-law was not fond of Guan iyi, but in her mind, she fully approved her as her daughter-in-law. She thought she matched her son in every way, whether it was family background or physical appearance. Therefore, whenever the elder Mrs. Ruan was being hard on Guan iyi, Wang Yazhi always ca to her rescue.
