In Mada Ruan’s room, Grandmother in law’s elder sister was sitting on the sofa. Her expression was heavy, her eyes were slightly red, and she looked like she was going to cry but was holding back her tears.
When Huang Ying sat on the sofa, she began to cry stamringly. She wasn’t wailing, but her tears were silently flowing.
Xu Cheng’s face was still, and she sat there with her head lowered.
Mada Ruan was baffled. “Elder sister, what’s going on? What happened?”
“What happened? Isn’t it your good daughter and granddaughter in law?” Grandmother in law’s elder sister said in a resounding and powerful voice. “Fancy that you praised your granddaughter in law to the heavens. I see that she is not better than Wang Yazhi after all! She is clever and eloquent and her mouth is unyielding. It’s clear who she takes after!”
“Ling girl?” Now, Mada Ruan was confused. The Ling girl was the most intelligent and sensible. She wouldn’t act impulsively and therefore, Mada Ruan asked, in a good temperant, “Elder sister, is there a misunderstanding here?”
“Misunderstanding! What misunderstanding is there!” Grandmother in law’s elder sister’s face was ashen. “Liao Cuicui, if I hadn’t married into the Sun Family in your stead, would you have the luxurious, comfortable and peaceful lifestyle that you have now? I have brought my daughter in law and granddaughter in law to visit you with the best of intentions. Your granddaughter in law is certainly great. We have just arrived, yet she is giving us attitude. Originally, I thought that your granddaughter in law was obedient and sensible. Who would have thought that she would publicly scold today?”
The more Grandmother in law’s elder sister spoke, the angrier she got. She slamd her hand down on the coffee table. This slam scared both Huang Ying, who was crying and Xu Cheng, who was silent and had her head down.
Even Mada Ruan was scared. She looked at Grandmother in law’s elder sister’s hand and asked, “Elder sister, this coffee table is made from silkwood. Does your hand hurt?”
“Heng! Stop pretending that you care about !” As Grandmother in law’s elder sister spoke, she pulled back her hand, which was trembling and turning red. She hid her hand in her sleeve and gripped her fist.
That slam had really hurt.
“The Ling girl publicly scolded you? That’s impossible! Elder sister, did you misunderstand?” Mada Ruan wouldn’t believe that Ling Tianya would publicly scold her elder sister even if she was beaten to death.
“Impossible?” Grandmother in law’s elder sister’s voice beca louder, and her face beca harsh. “You still believe your daughter in law, right?”
“No... no...”
“I brought my family to visit you with good intentions. We planned to live here for a couple of days so that we could reminisce about the past together. However, look at how your daughter in law and your granddaughter in law are treating . It is clear that they do not welco us. Or, have you, Liao Cuicui, incited this? If that is how it is, then the three of us will leave imdiately and from now on, we will not communicate with each other. I will pretend that I don’t have a younger sister like you!”
Upon seeing that Grandmother in law’s elder sister was criticizing everything, Huang Ying’s sobbing beca even more intense.
Mada Ruan didn’t have any other ideas. She picked up the phone and called for Ling Tianya and Wang Yazhi to co over.
Soon, Ling Tianya ca in, dragging Wang Yazhi behind her. Ruan Qishan, whom they had t in the living room, followed them.
Ruan Qishan had just finished playing golf and was still wearing his polo shirt and casual pants. When he saw Wang Yazhi walking to Mada Ruan’s room, her face anxious, he found out what had happened. Then, he followed them over, worried.
Originally Huang Ying was still crying, however, upon seeing Ruan Qishan walking in, she stopped crying for a second before once again sobbing. As she looked at Ruan Qishan, her gaze blurred, narrating her grievances.
