Charles swiftly reached out, pushing Augustine back with just enough force to create distance between them.

Augustine barely managed to steady himself, as he stumbled backwards but before he could fall, he steady him.

He now stood just inches away from the hospital bed, his breath uneven.

anwhile, Charles took a slow step back, his expression unreadable.

He placed a hand on his chin, his gaze dropping to the floor as if deep in thought, his expression unreadable.

"Oops,"

The female nurse who had just stepped into the hospital room suddenly blushed, quickly raising a hand to cover her eyes in embarrassnt. "I-I didn’t an to interrupt," she mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper as she kept her gaze averted.

Augustine scoffed, a smirk tugging at his lips as he nodded in understanding. "I get that you didn’t an to barge in, but don’t you think knocking would have been appropriate?" he questioned.

Despite the smirk, the sharp edge in his tone made it clear he was displeased with the nurse’s lack of courtesy.

"I... I totally... I should have knocked, and I didn’t," she stamred, her words tumbling over each other. "I... I’m sorry. I’m still new and... and I know that’s not an excuse for what I..."

"Hey," Charles interjected gently, cutting off the nurse’s flustered rambling.

Her wide, embarrassed eyes darted toward him, hesitation flickering across her face.

"Don’t be nervous, okay?" Charles stated, his voice was warm and reassuring, as he lowered his hand from his cheek and took a slow step closer to her.

Standing in front of the nurse, Charles placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, his touch light.

A warm smile curved his lips as he spoke softly, "Mistakes happen, so you don’t need to worry too much, okay?"

After a brief pause, Charles withdrew his hand, giving her a small nod of reassurance.

"Even if mistakes do happen, I want to get your na so that I am going to punish you for your lack of courtesy..."

"Augustine!" Charles snapped with a cold voice.

Augustine kept quiet for an instant as he gulped his saliva, and let out a hoarse breath rolled out of his mouth.

"Nurse, do you mind telling us the purpose of your visit?" Charles asked, his tone gentle yet firm, attempting to shift the tense atmosphere.

The nurse forced a smile across her lips. "The doctor asked to inform CEO Augustine that his father doesn’t want him staying in the hospital for too long. He expects you to return to the company as soon as possible."

Augustine sighed, shaking his head sideways in disappointnt.

Charles on the other hand gave the nurse a small nod, as he mumbled the word ’Thanks.’

Following the word of Charles, the nurse stepped out, just before she shut the door, Charles lifted a hand and waved, his voice gentle.

"Don’t take Augustine’s words to heart, okay? He can be sharp-tongued, but he ans well." Charles purred. "And welco to the hospital—do your best, and don’t be too hard on yourself." Charles added and his warm smile made the nurse smile back at him.

"Okay," she mumbled, a blush creeping into her cheeks before she proceeded to shut the door.

’Sigh!’

"Do you like her?" Augustine suddenly blurted out, his voice sharper than intended, causing Charles to turn around and et his gaze.

Augustine was now seated on the hospital bed, with his fingers curled slightly against the sheets.

Charles raised a brow at Augustine’s question. "Do you hate her?" he countered, his tone calm yet laced with quiet curiosity.

Augustine scoffed, a dry chuckle escaping his lips as he averted his gaze.

"I asked you a question first, Charles." Augustine’s voice was steady, but his fingers twitched slightly against the sheets. "Do you like the nurse? Is she your type? Besides, you usually go for ladies and not n."

Augustine’s gaze lingered on Charles, searching for sothing—anything—in his expression.

Charles rolled his eyes, crossing his arms around his chest. "Are you jealous or sothing?" He questioned, his voice held amusent and his eyes lingered a little too long on Augustine’s face, as if daring him to admit it.

Augustine remained silent, lying back on the bed as he shut his eyes. "I want to rest," he whispered, his voice so faint that Charles barely caught the words.

Charles watched him for a mont, his brows knitting together. He could tell sothing was off, but Augustine’s closed-off expression left no room for questioning.

Instead of pressing further, Charles simply exhaled, feeling the weight of unspoken emotions settle between them.

"Co over here and lie beside ," Augustine suddenly uttered, prompting Charles to exhaled loudly before making his way to the bed.

He hesitated for a mont, then finally settled beside Augustine.

"So... tell ," Charles murmured, turning his head slightly to glance at him. "Are you jealous because of that nurse?"

Augustine remained quiet at first, his expression unreadable.

Then, with a slow blink, he exhaled. "Does it matter?" Augustine inquired, his voice was softer this ti, almost hesitant, as if he wasn’t sure about giving Charles a reply.

Silence...

Once more, Augustine refused to provide Charles with an answer regarding whether he was jealous or not.

Since Augustine chose to ignore Charles question, he decided it was best to give Augustine space.

Without another word, Charles slipped off the bed and made his way to the couch.

Stretching out, Charles lay down, his arms resting over his stomach as he stared up at the ceiling.

His thoughts swirled, but he kept them to himself, the silence between them growing heavier with each passing second.

Total silence befell the room for exactly ten minutes and when Augustine could no longer bear the silence, he sat up on the bed, and averted his gaze over to Charles. "Why don’t you want to share the sa bed with ?"

"Well, it’s because you choose to ignore my questions, Augustine." Charles fired back, sounding offended.

Augustine sigh.

’Pfft!’

"You’re a very handso man, Charles," Augustine murmured, his voice low and deliberate. "And you’re also beautiful, sexy, caring, seductive... and most of all, you’re absolutely alluring." His gaze lingered on Charles, eyes dark with aning.

Charles rose from the couch as he arched his brows at Augustine. "What are you trying to say?" He probed.

Augustine inhaled. "Co over here for a minute,"

The voice of Augustine sounded so soft and Charles could sense that Augustine was pleading with him.

With a shrug, he approached Augustine, and his brows were still arched upwards. "So tell , Augustine," Charles mumbled, a serious expression on his face. "What exactly are you trying to say?"

"I... I just want you to know that anyone who lays eyes on you would instantly fall for your charm, and..."

His words trailed off a mont as he swallowed hard, a bit nervous. "I hate that the nurse interrupted our mont together," Augustine admitted, his voice laced with frustration.

His fingers clenched the sheets as he exhaled sharply. "And... and I hate that you were so kind to her. The way she looked at you—like she wanted to pull you into her world—it made my blood boil." His gaze darkened, jealousy flickering in his eyes.

Charles chuckled slightly, biting into his lower lips as he slightly adjusted his dicated glasses.

Earlier, when Augustine’s mother kidnapped Charles, she tossed his dicated glasses away and that was why Charles found it hard to see properly while he was being beaten up by Mrs. Wales’s n.

But hours ago, when Charles awoke to see himself inside a hospital building, Mr Wales paid a visit to Charles and handed over the dicated glasses to him while apologising that he had no idea of his wife’s intentions.

If Mr Wales didn’t bring Charles’s glasses over to the hospital, then Charles would still have an hard ti trying to see properly.

Currently...

As Charles successfully adjusted his glasses, he blinked a few tis, his vision sharpening with each flutter of his lashes.

Slowly, he released his lower lip from the gentle pressure of his teeth before running his tongue over it, moistening the dryness that had settled there.

"So does this an that you are jealous?" Charles questioned with a smile attached to his lips, and deep down, he already knew Augustine’s answer.

Augustine nodded, his gaze unwavering. "I really want you to like , Charles," he admitted, his voice quieter now, almost vulnerable. "And... I hated seeing you be so nice to that nurse. You even touched her." His lips pressed into a thin line, frustration flickering in his eyes. "It made jealous."

Charles blushed, his cheeks turning a crimson red as he lean over to Augustine’s ear. "Do you want to touch you too?" he purred, his voice laced with seduction as his hand rested gently on Augustine’s thigh.

Augustine shuddered at the sudden contact, his breath hitching as Charles’s fingers lightly grazed his thigh.

His lips parted slightly, but no words ca out. Instead, his gaze locked onto Charles’s, a mix of surprise and anticipation swirling in his eyes.

"Is that what you want?" Charles murmured, his lips barely an inch from Augustine’s ear, his warm breath sending a shiver down Augustine’s spine.

Slowly, Charles’s hand trailed upward, lifting Augustine’s hospital gown inch by inch until it reached his waist. "Can I touch your dick, Augustine Wales?" Charles seductively inquired.

Quickly, Augustine nods his head rapidly. "Please... touch ."
